Three weeks in a row...Omar named CAA Rookie of the Week. His play seems to be getting stronger every week....and very consistent. At this rate, it won't be a matter of whether he is CAA Rookie of the Year, but instead a real chance at all-conference.... Three in a Row: Prewitt Garners CAA Weekly Award Again - William & Mary - Athletics at William & Mary On the year, Prewitt ranks among the CAA leaders in 10 different categories, while leading league rookies in eight statistical categories, including scoring, rebounding and assists. He is second in the CAA in 3-point percentage (.472), third in 3-pointers made (2.4), sixth in steals (1.3), seventh in field goal percentage (47.8), eight in scoring (15.9), 11th in assists (2.4), free throw percentage (.757) and blocked shots (0.9), 14th in defensive rebounding (4.1) and 17th in rebounding (5.7).

Omar was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row, and the first multiple week winner this year. The freshman guard had nine points, four rebounds and two blocks in the victory over the Scarlet Knights and nearly posted his first double-double with 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in a loss to High Point. For the season, Prewitt ranks 14th in the CAA in rebounding (6.2 rpg) and 15th in scoring (13.0 ppg).

Omar was named CAA Co-Rookie of the Week, along with College of Charleston's Canyon Berry (redshirt freshman), son of Rick Barry. Ironically Canyon's mom, Lynn Barry, is the only female to have her number retired (basketball) at William and Mary. The Tribe's senior all-conference PG was suspended indefinitely 2 days before the opener, as well as, freshman PG Mike Schlotman (Indiana All-star) is out with a hamstring pull, so, disappointing loss for what is/was expected to be a very good year for this team. Omar, consequently, will get a lot of court time early. He has shown no adjustment time needed for the speed/athleticism of the college game. Tribe fans are expecting a great 4 year career from Omar, and Omar appears ready to make more noise than even anticipated. Baptism early at Wichita State next week. Big things expected from Jack Whitman, also, but probably at least a year away from being ready physically to contribute.

Anyone have any current update/insight on what's going on with Shane Hall's recruitment/intent after essentially sitting out this summer's AAU and All-Star rounds???
