  1. Should be a good match up this Friday night. The Mercer Quarterback Booster Club is hosting a "Tailgating Meal Deal" in the tailgating area beside the football field at Mercer before the scrimmage starting at 5:00. For $6.00 you can get a barbeque sandwich, chips, drink and homemade dessert. All proceeds go to the football team. This is for the Mercer fans and Danville fans. Enjoy!

  2. 36 srs...Are you serious? That's approaching Trinity/St X type numbers.. I'd say with that big of an upperclass, they should be good...

I am serious. Last count was around 36 seniors! Not only that, there are around 35 freshmen and 30 sophomores. The junior class is the lowest in numbers right now with about 15.

Seniors are really serious this year!

  3. Great win by Mercer County. Freshman Clay Cinnamon started the game for the Titans on the mound. Junior Thad Claunch came in to relieve him when Somerset started hitting the ball and Mercer had committed 3 errors in one inning. Then in the 7th, Senior Matthew Robertson was brought in to get the Titans out of a huge jam. Then in the 8th, Senior Ethan Ashford came in to get the save. Mercer used its top 4 pitchers in this game and they came through for the team.

Mercer's hitting was on with Matthew Robertson and Zeke Edwards leading the team during this game.

As far as the officiating, the umpires were consistent for each team. No matter how bad the officiating might have been, no one can take away from Mercer County being down 5-1 and coming back to win this game in extra innings 10-7. Go Titans!

  4. Another great pitching outing by Matthew Robertson for six innings. Kasey McRay came in and pitched the seventh inning to close out the game. Kasey did a great job. Hitting was once again in the favor of the Titans. Josh Carey was 2-3, Lee Logue had two doubles, and Zeke Edwards had a 2-run RBI double. Good win.

  5. Great game! Mercer had costly errors in the first inning giving up four runs (3 unearned) and then shut Shelby County out the rest of the game. Thad Claunch for Mercer pitched an outstanding game once again. Zeke Edwards for Mercer was 2 for 2 at the plate with an RBI double and a single. Matthew Robertson also was hot at the plate for Mercer. Not sure on the Shelby County players information.
