The locker room will be on the bottom, weight room on top with the indoor practice field connected to the locker room and it will be the size of a gym with turf and be used by all sports.
-
But, can he play?????
I believe his offers were due to his size, don't believe he was a big factor in Ryle's offense last year.
-
Dayton should have a few new faces playing football this coming season. I heard that Jones might lace up the cleats. Jones is a great baseball player and has good speed and with some good coaching he would make a good wide out. There are a lot of basketball players that hopefully will play this coming season too. Coach Deaton needs to sell them on the program and get them on the field.
I agree about Jones hopefully his parents will let him play football, that's what has kept him from playing in the past.

Will Donnie Brown be back at Dayton next season? I heard he left Highlands

Should be alot of talent and good teams this year.
What your top ten teams be?
1. CCH- Return alot of important players, and have Maile.
2. NCC- Have Conner throwing for them and will win a substantial amount of games. Plus the Kelly bros. will be good.
3. Holy Cross- return 9 seniors, and Have thier ace Roenker, now only if they don't over use him. Will be a very sound ball club.
4. Ryle- will have a solid team, still have Estcheid (sp)? and always put out a quality squad.
5. Beechwood- Young at spots but Smith will carry the pitching staff along with Larimore.
6. Dixie- Have a solid staff with Smallwood and Koors as the anchors. Lesley also is a solid lead off man.
7. Conner- Brake and Pugh should be the catalyst to the Cougar offense. Prolly should be higher than 7.
8. Bellevue- If Jones is still there they will be a contender.
9. Brossart- Don't know much about them but they were tough last year.
10. SK- lost some talent last year and they might be good toward the end of the year.
Thoughts..
SK did lose some talent, I heard some JV players from last year aren't returning and their catcher needs shoulder surgery. Pitching still remains a question mark. They don't belong in the top 10, by the sound of who is comming back I'd say they will be lucky to go .500 for the year.
-
I wish they could work something out with the Birds. I think it is totally stupid to play Ryle twice in one season..:irked:
I agree, if they played it would be standing room only. Hopefully it will happen soon.
-
What team or teams is your school dropping from the 2008 schedule? Who will they be replaced with? I heard SK is dropping Holmes, Russell, and Holy Cross.
-
Miles Simpson had 2309 yards rushing for the year according to Maxpreps. He averaged 8.13 yards per carry.
-
Somebody could have blocked for the QB. :argue:
I am happy to read he is OK. It was a clean hit.
Hope the 'Neers don't go the way of Clark County. We have not seen or heard from them since 1991.
I understand Coach Marksberry is still running his mouth on local TV. When will he learn what goes on in Kenton County area does not mean it will not be read or heard in Jefferson County? :irked:
I understand one of his closer friends is a Trinity Hall of Famer. This Rock wore a SK cap over the weekend. We must not be all bad.:thumb:
I haven't heard or read anything Coach Marksberry said about the game. We lost, game over. As for the hit Brock Messina was flying in to make the tackle, that's expected from every football player. I don't think it was intensional, he dropped his head a little at the last second to avoid taking one on the chin. Chad will be fine and back next year even better. You can't get better unless you play the best, next year SK will be at it again hopefully with better results. SK is losing some fine seniors, they have some great juniors ready to step up. Congrats and thanks to the whole SK football team and coaching staff, this was a year to remember! :thumb:

Wasn't SK the 4th seed in their district?
Yes they are the 4 seed.
-
That probably still would not slow him down too much. If I was coaching SK Friday night, I'd sure not pull Miles out of the game unless he asked to come out.
I agree, i understand after an offensive series Miles does need and deserve a break. This friday night maybe the coaches will cut his breaks a little short. It sounds like it could be a track meet.
-
Agreed. Miles has the speed and skill to make TD-saving plays that many H.S. players cannot make. I'd sure want him out there as much as possible Friday night to have the best chance for a win.
Maybe Coach Marksberry can strap an oxygen tank on Miles .

He does play safety every game, wouldn't be any different in this game
In the Conner game he didn't play safety that much, Conner threw long passes and ran past the safety. He came in on goal line situations, when he is in nobody throws very deep on the defense. Boone game he played more at the end of the game when Boone was passing.
-
From where I was Friday at the game 21 stopped at least 3 key runs that the defensive line could not handle.
I believe he had one tackle and one assist. Miles is a much better safety, the best 11 need to be on the field Friday night.
-
Apparently Quainoo's speed was too much for SK, but SK's Defense shut him down. And I think they will do the same for Green. I'm going to say Simpson is the better RB in this game. Let's see if Male's Defense can contain him. :thumb:
I think Miles will have to play safety in this game along with RB. It seems like every touchdown scored against the defense was when 21 was playing safety. Miles has much better speed and knows how to use an angle alot better.

It seems funny that the ones complaining about how the fans act in the stands are the same ones who complained about the coach and program most of the season.
I agree right after we lost to Boone 42-7 is when the complaining about coaching started, since then things turned around and now the fans are at fault! No matter what people think ALL Simon Kenton supporters were there cheering the team on, there were alot of Conner football players and coaches cheering us on to. Even Dixie Coach Spritzky was there watching, it nice having the extra support.
-
Most of us were not. There is a group of parents that at every game win or lose stand and cheer and support them the rest never do. The largest group of cheers come from the parents of kids who dont even get to play and thats just sad. we really need to rally the troops for next week. The players love what we do for them and would love it even more if that crowd got bigger.
People should be able to watch and cheer there child on any way they want, just because they don't stand doesn't mean they aren't supportive. I have never had one kid tell me after the game that people didn't stand during a game yelling and screaming, if the boy's on the field start noticing these things then there head isn't in the game. My son told me he hears his team mates calling out plays and coverages, coaches doing the same and the referee's whistle. He hears the crowd making alot of noise, but it comes from both sides of the field.
-
Its hard to believe that you can say something about spirit. I watched only about a fourth of the stands stand and support their players. When the players were asking the stands to stand up and the same fans still would not get up. Unbelievable. We loved it when the three people finally went down to the front and got everyone to stand and cheer. Other than the one person that kept asking them to sit. Its hard to believe that you once played for this program and could not even stand and cheer them to victory.
:flame: :fire:
I saw plenty of spirit from the parents, even from the grandparents that were able to make the game.

SK dominated Lafayette from the opening kick off. Not only was the onside kick by Lafayette a bad call, the "not" running of the play clock was even worse. Also stopping the game by the ref's during a kick off attempt and telling the Lafayette coach he had only 10 on the field.
-
Didn't Russell kicker Jason Dolly have 75 consecutive PAT's until last night?
-
I don't think SK was picked to be the favorite this season just because of the sophmore talent. I believe everybody that is starting varsity has earned their spot. There is a few sophmore players that start varsity.
-
Boone in a close one at home. Farris to much for the Raider D.
-
The best team won last night. SK had no answer for the Ryle running game. Ryle mixed their backs up a little bit and gave SK some different looks. SK had no strong side defense i believe the weak side made most of the tackles. Tyler Hopperton had a very good game along with Ryan Vaughn. SK's offense needs alot of work next year there is alot of talent on that team, somebody needs to realize that and use it before they are gone!
-
Changes need to be made at SK before more talent is wasted. I've never seen such an up and down team. I understand the coach can't go out and play the game but something is not working. Never did like it when the AD is also a coach. There I said it!:madman:
Amen! :thumb:
