Lamar got the call Tuesday. Why did it take so long for anyone to report it?!?

I heard Lamar received a call telling him he was voted Mr. Football, but have not seen this on any TV station nor newspaper article.

That's a rather intimidating photo. These are certainly some rather huge boys...er I mean young men.

Heard a guy say last week the Boyle/LC score would be 24 - 17. Had there not been two missed extra points, he would have been right on. This week he says Boyle by 13. I hope his soothsaying is just as good for tonight.

I'm picking Boyle to win, but, I think it will be a close game for several reasons.

 

1) Not a district game anymore, so intensity won't be there

2) BC has done won district, so no need to keep starters in as long

3) Southwestern always plays physical against Boyle

4) First cold weather game, so BC offense may be off the mark

First cold weather game? It was pretty cold last Friday pm. Rain, wind, low temps. Down right chilly. bbrrrrr:eek:

I wasn't aware Boyle had received a transfer. Does anyone know the details? Grade, former school, position?

I know of junior transfer Boone Goldsmith, who also plays football. Tall and athletic. Should help inside game. Not sure of anyone else that may have transferred.

Not sure who your reliable source is, but just to set the record straight Lincoln only has 5 Juniors. One has never played JV, one has been hurt for about 4 weeks and out for the season. The other 3 have played in only about half the JV games.

 

Although those 3 have been key players, the game against SW was only played by Freshmen and Sophmores. I am a parent, so I do know. Nevertheless, the game will be a tough one and correct me if I'm wrong, but does'nt Boyle play some Juniors in JV too?

Without mentioning names, the source is closer to the program than a parent. I believe one jr plays defense plus another is the kicker on the JV team for Boyle, but I can't really say for sure. I don't go to many JV games and only "know" most of the players by number.

From my understanding, French was hired at Mercer as an assistant coach under John Buchanan. Buchanan went to Mercer from Boyle Co. Sometime in late 80's French hired David Buchanan (former player) as an assistant. So, at one time you had French, Chuck Smith and David Buchanan on the same coaching staff at Mercer. Can you imagine if those 3 were together at Mercer now?! Mercer would be a contender year in and year out. :thumb:
