  1. It seemed to me that once Conner went down 14 in the 3rd quarter they started to panic and made some dumb turnovers deep in their own territory that let it get out of hand. As far as the "running it up" issue SK was still taking multiple deep shot when it was well over. Personally doesn't bother me, I always say if you don't like it stop it. However, I would suggest that SK keep an eye on some of their students. About 25 kids were walking through the Conner side chanting "scoreboard" and generally trying to get in peoples faces. They were lucky they didn't start a riot. Its a shame that a few idiots can make a whole school look bad.[/QUO

I have to agree about the SK kids coming over to Conner's side. It was in poor taste.

  2. Both of those wins were on last second plays, and they lost to SK later on in tournament play. Also that was one of Ryles worst seasons b/c there wasn't nearly as much leadership as usual.

    Conner is not good

Sounds like you've got a little chip on the ol' shoulder? It's going to be a great game. Conner takes it, no question.

  3. If Pike has a stronger arm than Wilson he has picked up a lot this off season. Obviously I haven't seen them in football action since last fall, but when it comes to athleticism, Wilson wins that battle. As you say in your one comment, Wilson could lose snaps to Pike because of the mental side of things and intangibles - but not because Pike has a better arm or is a better athlete.

Thats hard to say both Wilson and Pike have outstanding athletism, Pike has the strongest arm i've seen on a incoming sophmore in this area. Both of the two are great QB's and Pike has alot of room for improvement.

A 6'5 QB is always nice to have in the pocket.

  5. Dematteo isn't playing football this year he is playing all baseball.

And from my look at it Pike has all the upside in the world he's 6'5, strong arm, and has great footwork, vision and the mental aspect of the QB positon.

Wilson however has more expierence but seems to lack on the mental side of the QB position. He has a accurate arm but not as strong.

I think Pike will get a fair ammount of snaps at QB this year and you never know what could happen.

Simon Kenton made that switch from a senior QB to a Sophmore QB and look where it took them.

I think Dixie has alot of young talent that can take them for a ride this season

  6. A side note that I left out...

There is a kid, I am told his last name is Hodges and that he goes to Connor Highschool. I have seen him play a few times for the NKY Bulldogs. He goes about 6'7" and seems to be turning into a nice player. He had a nice dunk against the 16U Shining Stars and played well against the WKY Elite white. I am told to keep an eye on him.

Another to keep an eye on is: Zeke Pike

And, does anyone know how Zeke Pike finished out the tournament? The kid had a nice game against the NKY Bulldogs and looked strong inside. Let us know.

Pike Played Good, Had a Solid tourney! He's only a Frosh but plays up a level in 16u he scored about 12 in the Semi Finals and about 10 against DSAS. He Plays his roll and is a strpng post player, can also step out and shoot some!

Gilbert and Pawset are also solid player along with Shuttee this Shining Stars team plays very well together and was an exciting game to Watch!

  7. I also might add the class that Coach Bieger showed against Villa. After the score reached around 10-0 Cooper kids continued to hit balls to the fence but everyone moved one base at a time. I heard some of Villa's parents remarking about the class Coach Bieger showed, as well as the Cooper kids.

IMO all of the Conner players hit the ball hard. There were two homeruns in the first inning one by Brake and a grandslam by Pugh. :banana:I think the players should be rewarded for hitting the ball to the fence. IMO taking one base at a time is more embarassing to a team then playing the way you should.:deadhorse:
