State Championships aren't won on the frosh or JV levels. Kids develope and mature more after their 1st 2 seasons. I do recall St. X's current seniors beating Trinity 3 times as freshmen and what was the score this year on the varsity level? David Clark dominated on the frosh level, but as a sophomore, THS pounded him and he barely pitched the next 2 years because he couldn' throw strikes. St. X's freshmen team beat Trinity 4 times this year. Will that happen in 4 years? Don't know. St. X had better pitching on the freshmen level, but some of those pitchers might be at their peak right now. Coach T. will mold these players into a team that can win!

Congrate to CAL! To the St. X seniors, keep your heads up. You had a great season and 4 years. To the St. X parents that cheered for CAL Wednesday night against Trinity down the left field line, be careful what you wish for! Maybe you guys shouldn't have cheered so much when Deeds got thrown out of the game! It probably would have been better if CAL'S SS was thrown out!

I wonder about Coach Dog's comments as well. Is he referring to the unlevel playing field against private schools or against other public schools? When was the last time a Louisville private school won state? I believe St. X in 1981. Not many other private schools around the state have one many titles in the last 30 years as well.

Against Trinity, a Ballard player went in spikes high and took out Berry at 2B. The ump told Berry that the runner never touched him. You should have seen the umps face when Berry showed him the blood on his leg from the spikes after the inning!

I think there were 8 or 9 for trinity more would have play but were moved up to varsity because of injuries...i heard stx decided to play some juniors this time also..is this true?

Moeller did play juniors, there QB and TE were juniors that were very good players,cannot say for sure of any others.
