  1. If Dayton can dominate the line of scrimmage like they did last year. The game will be just like last years i know Joe Wynn will come out looking to have a big game after last year he got hurt against Lloyd on a cheap shot that sat him out for a couple weeks. Also with him knowing many people from Lloyd after going to school there before should be good.

    Dayton wins 28-14

  2. Not always about height. This game will be decided inside the box. Can Scott's Line hold water? Can Deck be given the time to hit his receivers? Will the Scott coaching staff adjust their offensive set to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers (Spencer, Bianchi and Forrester)? Will Scott's defense be able to put pressure on Miller and keep him and Palmer contained?

If the answer to more than one of the above is no, then it will be a long night for the Eagles of Taylor Mill. As I stated before in this thread I have strong ties to both teams. This is my impartial opinion. I will be glad for whichever team that wins, and will be sad for the loser. They both need this win. Both have one district loss and given the rest of their district it is unlikely that either will post another district win other than the one that is earned this Friday. I will be at the game, rooting for both sides. Best of luck to both teams.

From hearing Lickert talk in the paper i would say he will put number 1 Rashaad Palmer on Hank. Palmer is a supposed D-1 talent at corner so well see should be a good test for him and shows if he is D-1 or not time to put up or shut up for both teams. Holmes wins big.

  3. Dayton won because they grinded the game out and did what it takes to win like all good teams do. Rouse obviously wasnt effected by his wrist when he was running the ball up the middle or when he threw a touchdown pass and he never winced. Your under estimating Dayton as a good team lucky or not good teams get it done when it needs to be done and thats all that matters that why they are 3-1 Dayton wins and shuts down the LC run which by the way is all they got.

  4. Common team:

    Dayton 21 Holmes 19

    Dayton 14 Scott 10

Can we extrapolate anything from this?

Yes i know both teams very well Holmes is very fast and Scott couldnt handle Daytons speed also Holmes beat a HC team that is a power game that Scott will try and show offensivelly for Scott they have Rob Hankinson good reciever but i think that against a pretty good secondary he wont win the game for Scott like they would want. If Scott wants to win they must run the ball and control the clock and shut down James Miller and hit him everytime they can and wear him down physicalluy and mentally if Scott can do that they could win but i dont see it happening. Holmes by 16 they dont kick PAT

  5. Yes, NKY has some of the best A and AA schools in the area, but I don't think that Dayton, Ludlow, Bellevue, or Bishop Brossart could compete with most of the A teams in the state. Maybe 50 percent of them or a little less.

Bishop Brossart? Maybe just Dayton,Bellevue and Ludlow.:thumb:

  6. ha ha... I read that in the newspaper this weekend and a lot of people I talked to laughed... but I think that is kind of cool... it is probably the biggest ballhawking secondary corps Dayton has seen in while with Brownfield and Turner on the outside with Young playing centerrfield... don't forget Joe Wynn when he gets his shots on defense too also plays a pretty physical corner...

Joe Wynn and Richard Turner start at Corner teams dont throw the ball much to the outside the try to hit the middle of the field and Ryan Brownfield and Chris Young are Safetys and i think Brownfield might be out this week Brownfield only play corner when Wynn or Turner needed a break.

  7. I have seen Dayton play this year and they have pretty good speed at reciever I think Young, Brownfield and Turner also Wynn at back and slot reciever I think Dayton is in better shape and just wears Ludlow down. Big thing is if Rouse gets time and I wonder how Daytons defense is going to adjust to a four reciever team like Ludlow or do they treat it just like Holmes or not cause i dont think Rouse is a runner like Miller.

  8. Grant is a vital piece to the Ludlow recieving core. All the coaches feel that while he is smaller than they would like, he has game breaking ability. As for Buddy being the 3 or 4 receiver, in this style of offense there really is no clear cut number 1 WR. Each week a different WR could be the #1 option. It really depends on who is running their routes the best and what the defense is giving them. I would have to say one of the areas I've been most impressed with is the offensive line. While Ludlow hasn't boosted huge running numbers, they have done a great job pass blocking for Jarrett and the wide recievers. I would venture to say that this is the deepest the Panthers have been at reciever in a very long time. Any one of the WR's has the ability to turn a 6 yard catch into something more and score when the ball is in their hands.

You have been impressed ? There starting center weighs 152 lbs and got blown off the ball every single play in the Bellevue game. If Bellevue had a little bit more speed on there d line Rouse would have been in some serious trouble and that is something Dayton has. I have also heard Searcy the middle line backer will be playing some d line this week which will add much more speed. and he is most likey just as strong as the Bellevue line. As for the rest of Ludlows line i seen nothing even close to impressive.

  9. I know I keep hearing that Dayton does have a good offense to, but have yet to see anything to really prove it...I know I hope they dont prove it this week either...:D

In week one they shut down one of the fastest teams in NKY and in week two they shut down a Scott team whos line was supposed to dominate the game Scott had one long play and thats it. If Rouse plays anything like he did against Bellevue it will be a long one for him at Davis field were the Devils will be fired up to play after not being there for two weeks Devils win.:flame:

  10. It has become obvious that some fans watch the game wearing blinders. To state that Dayton was flat is an excuse. They were dominated in every aspect of the game no ifs about it. They lost that game when Beechwood came out of the locker room. The d-line had there way with the offence. Daytons biggest and best was owned by Bwoods right side D-End, they could not move against them. How can you say Dayton could have played with Beechwood, WOW

If you didnt see it Dayton put together an 80 yrd drive against Beechwood starting D.

  11. Thoughts on the game Dayton wins by two touchdowns or more. If they get the ball to the best players they will be fine Dayton should dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Ellis will throw for his first touchdown and have a great game. Joe Wynn should have a field day with two touchdowns or more. Also the wide recievers will show what hasnt been seen all year long besides glimpses against Beechwood. Dayton wins 35-14 .
