I know that the 10th and 11th Region are Barry Follett and Keith Morgan,,,
-
from my understanding of what i was told..... the first baseman bobbled the the ball which pulled him off the bag.....so Mac went to the first base umpire and asked him to check with the plate umpire and they got together and reversed the call.....so ultimately they got the call right and that is what umpiring baseball is all about..... and while some coaches field antics are different than others I dont think your veteran officials are scared of Mac and I know for a fact the plate umpire is a veteran official..... so I dont understand why people want to criticize.....if you think you can do a better job of caoching or umpiring then have at it....

I heard Coach Whitaker was making a point to his Jr.and Sr.s because they came home for prom Sat. night and thats why he startred the underclassmen against Scott...The put them in and they didnt have time to catch up.... plus the fact they have the Mcdonalds this weekend so he couldnt burn anybody good..
-
The answer to the who is out question is: with one out the runner is out , with two outs the batter is out..
-
With some of the earlier posts... the only thing the Cards are missing is a true point guard...I also agree that without Rogers in the game they are a different team...especially defensively because to hear Coach Humphrey on the radio ...he says Rogers is the best defensive player they have....As for the slow down game I thought that was great because if you watch when Brossart and Mason play I can guarantee you Brossart will do the same exact thing.... thats the only way they can beat Mason...I think the Cardinals will win the region with the confidence they have over the schedule that they have played this year....and by the way they dont fear SCOTT!!!!
-
GRC won the meeting at Clark 82-36...i believe. The thing that Harrison ran into that night was a pretty good press by the Cardinals. If it hadnt been for Martin of the Breds they wouldn't have scored that many.. He shot it well.. Corey has an ankle sprain. The word I got you have to put him out there and see what he can do playing on it.. I think if he plays at all it will be limited. Look for the Cards to set a fast paced tempo early and try to put it away in the first half and rest them the second half.. Plus that gives them an extra days rest.
-
It was a good game for both teams.. Montgomery knew they couldn't win so they did what they thought they should have done...It is also a good trainer for next weeks regional because I promise you who ever has to play Brossart there gonna do the exact same thing Montgomery did last night.

Just wondering How Clark Co.s 5 juniors if they are the tallest or not one of the tallest teams in the state?
-
Had a chance to see the Washington kid. From my understanding he is The junior high girls coaches nephew. He's about 6'5 and all raw talent. Don't know much about transfer from Flemng C. but they get the Hampton kid back that blew his knee out at the beginning of the year. Those two along with Campbell Nicholas almost has to have a lock on the All "A" Region.
-
This is the first Nicholas Co. baseball team in history to get to the semi-finals of the region back to back years. So for them to do that with everything they have faced this year I would say thats a huge Accomplishment.
-
Nicholas will throw Campbell for sure. And if the curve is on for him could be a long day for the Royals. That leaves Mynear and Workman for the semis if Nicholas is able to advance.
-
I think it will be a toss up for anybody. Saw the Scott/Calvary game and Scott had to use Murray to save them that night. Mynear throws against Mason. You have to play to win and not the hope we can get by without having to use the ace. As for Bourbon you would think they will throw Rupard, Scott has to throw Murray, Campbell throws Sellers or Brenner(think thats his name) not sure about Clark or Mason. If Harrison is not hitting you better be able to field the bunt. There staff is pretty solid. But you never know in the game of baseball. Good Luck to all the teams next week.
-
I agree. After looking at who Bourbon has played. Nobody on that schedule real worthy. Kind of like Bart Rison used to do with Montgomery Co.s basketball schedule.
-
NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!!!! The Workman kid has enrolled at Nicholas Co. and all they are waiting on now is to see if he is going to be able to participate this year. If so could be a huge help for the Jackets until the Mynear kid who was injured in football season comes back.
-
It should be pretty evenly matched. Nicholas took a big blow on a cheapshot horse collar tackle on Mynear the quarterback and ended up tearing his ACL. Lemons the backup didn't look too bad against Fairview the rest of the game. We will just have to see if he can step up to lead the Jackets.

Apollo and Heath series should be a good one. The only thing about Harrison being young is Mac always finds a way to get the flow of the game in his favor whether its any of the stunts he pulls with his kids or different things said to umpires it is always something with him.
-
I believe it will go something like this:
Heath
Louisville Christian
Christian Co.
PRP
Lawrence Co.
Greenup Co.
Lex Cath
Harrison Co.
I liike PRP to win it all. Seen them play twice this year. They are the real deal.
-
Alex Florence will get the start for the Bluejackets. If he is on he is pretty good with his curve and the fastball as far as location if not could be a long afternoon for the jackets.
-
This is how i see the region tourney going. Mason, Scott, Harrison, and Campbell advance in the first round. All will be good games except I don't see Campbell having any trouble getting passed St. Pat. Scott will route Mason on its way to its first regional final in over 15 years, and Harrison and Campbell will be a great game with Woodruff I'm sure throwing against Harrison's number two, thinking that they will throw Martin against GRC. I think Harrison will find away to sneak one out at home setting up a Scott Harrison final. Scott will have either Adams or Adkins saved for the game and I think Harrison's pitching will be depleted giving Scott a clear edge. I think the eagles will find a way to win their first 10th region championship. My opinion is a little biased though.
I tend to disagree with Mason beating Nicholas. Mason will be without there third baseman and Nicholas has played fairly well the last week of the season Bryan St. beats them 3-0 and Clark beats them 2-0 then they beat Pendleton in the district only to lose to Harrison in the finals.
-
With all due respect, Adkins and Adams didn't pitch that badly and neither did Verst (?) from Brossart. The umpire forced both teams to serve it up. No corners, no low or high strike zone and 25 - 30 mph winds blowing out to left center the entire game makes for a lot of offense. I think both Adams and Adkins will be fine, although I am concerned about Adams. From what I hear, the coaches may have over-pitched him (pitches per game) during the middle of the season and he appears to have issues with his velocity again. Here's hoping he gets some rest and is ready for the regional.
Ialso saw this district and thought the plate umpire in the Scott/Brossart game was the most consistent of the other games that was played. He stayed off the high pitches but I thought he was consistent both ways on the low pitch. Now on the other hand as far as the region. Don't worry about Harrison Co. and their pitching. With Mac hosting the region it will rain and he will get everybody back. It never fails he always finds a way to make it work for the Breds
-
Anybody at all that has been around the 10th region in the past knows that those 2 losses to Brossart and Campbell (good wins for them) but you have to realize That this is the way Harrison Co. and Coach Mac have been playing possum year in and year out until it counts in the tournament. I can assure you if either one of these teams face Harrison in the region it will be a different outcome.
-
I know a couple of coaches in the 10th region that have said throw at them if they are attempting to bunt. Thorobred should be able to enlighten us on this subject.

yes, it is legal if your attempting to make a play but when the leg comes up im pretty sure he can only hold it up for one second and then he has to pitch or pick off.
