The enforcement of Title IX rules has got to have some affect on attendance. Boys programs are forced to play on non-marquee nights and times. more these days.
-
Boone vs. Beechwood
St. Henry vs. Highlands
(Thats the top bracket)
(Lower Bracket)
NCC vs. Dixie
Holmes vs. Ryle
-
Is there a JV game too?
Yes, JV game will start at 1:30
-
If this should happen, when would it take affect?
If it passed the board of control vote this afternoon, it will take affect for this upcoming football season.
-
Most definitely. They have been every other year. Why would that change this year?
They definitely weren't out tonight. Hopefully, they will be there tomorrow.
-
Just got back from Beale Street,
Having been to the Outback Bowl and multiple Music City Bowls, I was shocked to see how outnumbered UK fans were.
Hopefully, fans were in the hotel rooms or on there way down to Memphis tonight.
Will Big Blue Nation be at Liberty Bowl Stadium tomorrow?
-
St. Henry pulls the upset. Wins by 3.
-
I see your point and I think we are on the same page. Tonight was an excellent learning experience for them. Its always better to get the win and be able to learn some things about how to play as a team.
-
IMO Holmes isn't a young team. I would say it is still just December and they are still growing as a team. The top 6 players are 3 seniors and 3 juniors, i believe. They are learning how to play without Henderson.
TRice, don't forget that there wasn't a tip thanks to Pittman. Conner started the game up 2 and taking the ball out of bounds.
-
I'll take your word for it.:thumb: BTW...Does anyone know who won the night cap? I believe that's who Holmes will face tomorrow.
Henderson County beat Bullitt East. Holmes plays Henderson Co. tomorrow night at 8 pm
-
Pittman's technical was legit. He went above the rim and threw it down with one hand with some authority.
Conner always plays Holmes tough and makes them earn it. It was no different tonight. As said earlier, they played great defense, rebounded well and they were patient on offense.

The time between the games isn't determined by the stadium is it? I don't think you can blame PJCS for that, or for security doing their job, which was to clear the field for the next game.
The 2X2X2 would be better for that purpose no matter where it's played.
I hate 3 games in a day. I simply HATE the 11:30am games, especially on Friday's.
For the media/photographers/etc that have to be there all day, it's brutal, especially in inclement weather.
As for Louisville not caring....I'm not sure what you mean by that. What is it that Bowling Green could do to ensure that fans feel welcome? I have further thoughts on this, but I'm not sure what you mean so I'll wait to find out.
The thread was about how the championships could be improved. I assumed that to mean whether that was by the KHSAA or the city.
The 2 games a day change would have to be done by the KHSAA and agreed upon by the host.
I'm not blaming security for doing their job, its the fault of the KHSAA which schedules the games so close to each other.
In Louisville local establishments weren't prepared for the crowd and I've ran into several restaurants that just seemed put out by having a crowd. IMO
I agree its brutal for those that have to work it all day for two days.
First game is at 11 am

MYSELF....this is my opinion! I would have to see Holmes/SCott Co again to pick a ..clearcut # 1.. You know BS beat holmes, Holmes beat Scott...now Holmes beat BS. Its possible that Scott could come back and beat them by 8-10 just like they came back and beat BS by 18 after BS beat them by 14. Once again is there a Scott/Holmes rematch in near future?
It will have to wait until March in Rupp.
-
- I like the idea of a 2x2x2 (Friday through Sunday). With a rotation on what class plays what day.
- Enough time between games for the champion to enjoy it. (Ever witness security running kids and parents off the floor at Rupp on a Saturday night in March, I haven't)
- Hope BG acknowledges the fans. Always seemed the people in Louisville just didn't care.

After listening to the game and now seeing the stats, Riley had a "quiet" 14 for Holmes and I would like to know what Holmes changed up defensively to slow down Ashford and Richardson. They were hot early in the 1st quarter. The radio broadcast never mentioned what Holmes was doing different defensively.
-
I agree, but honestly, who is very deep with quality?
Not too many, but someone said they hope they win out. Heck, its December and if your looking to beat them, you have to get Riley and Pittman in foul trouble early and make them sit. IMO
-
Holmes is just so long and athletic. It will be very interesting to see how the 11th unfolds. I believe Bryan Station and Scott Co. hook up for the first time on 1/16/09.
Holmes is not very deep. Yes, they have a solid 4 starters, but Housley, D. Johnson trade starts and Arnold is the only one that can contribute off the bench. It will be interesting to see what they do if someone can get them in fould trouble.

30 seconds. 16 point lead
-
1:05 left. 14 point lead
-
1:26 left. Holmes up 13
-
Pittman dunk, 59-50, Johnson for 2. 11 point lead. another timeout BS
-
Pittman dunk. 57 -50 . timeout BS

I would say it was just an expression anyway. I say that about my own kid sometimes but don't really think he is an idiot!!! Right Coach
It was a bad choice of words. Should have just said it was a very unnecessary action. sorry for not being politically correct. I have said it about my own kids to.

Thats a 15 year old kid you talking about and a family member of mine, and I would be thankful if you keep your comments to yourself.
It wasn't a smart thing to do.

That saying reminds me of Bobby Knight talking about "game face"
