Anne Klee goes off. Lady Saints by 10.
-
Teams that rely on perimeter scoring are bound to lose games every now and then. To be consistent you have to have a post game to get high percentage points. I think Montgomery is very good, probably just cold. It happens. Harrison could make them pay because of their size
-
Got a little rough. The saints did a great job keeping their composure and beating flemings pressure, not so good from the line though. Big win on senior night
-
Hang in there lady saints, there's a lot of ball to be played
-
Anyone have stats on this one? Steven Mason must have gone off or something.
He had 10.
-
Deming matches up well with Pendleton. Give Deming credit
-
Stephen Mason from St Patrick has to be in the top 10, any list without him is not close.
Agreed. They don't get much more consistent than Stephen Mason. Puts up numbers every night no matter who they play
-
Congrats lady saints. Keep it up!

I heard it was cancelled for today, to be rescheduled Monday

Anne Klee is very underrated.

I have heard some rumors that St. Patrick's enrollment is going to dramatically drop next school year. Anyone w/Saints ties or from the area know anything about this?
Seriously, we don't need to go there.

He made the mistake of violating a "politically correct" crime. This is another product of our absurd popular culture. If Chris Henry, Pacman Jones, and Ray Lewis are playing so should he.

1987 AFC Championship Game. John Elway. "The Drive". Old Cleveland Statdium was a trash hole but it was a great atmosphere to watch a football game.
-
I think he gets a lot of "love" on here. What do you want?

Cordero makes a huge difference! How many games were blown by the pen especially early in the year? Cordero is a top 5 closer moving a very sold weathers into a set up role. I think this move and the possible addition of some young arms like volquez and roenicke could make this one of the better bullpens in the nl. If this holds true the reds could easily be the class of a very weak nl central, and as the rockies proved last year, all you have to do is get there and be hot at the right time. (Arizona will be pretty good though with 1-Webb 2-Haren 3-R. Johnson)

Yeah punish Montgomery for having a great season and have them play Mason in round one, and let Pendleton and Augusta play in the first to have a chance to get to the finals. Makes no sense. Every tournament should be seeded. This will probably get me booed out of here but I don't care. It makes no sense. Wouldn't it be fun to see the best two teams in the region in the final? If there is going to be a major upset wouldn't it be just as fun to see it early in the tourney, and see a magical run by one of these underdogs?

Someone stated in another thread that he was going to concentrate on his education and would not play basketball. Is this true?
He has been able to concentrate on education while scoring these 2,000, and I believe he will continue to do that while he's playing in college. Congrats to Chris, it is hard for someone as unselfish as he is to score 2,000. Unbelievable. A legendary career.

I thought it was one of the better officiated games I've seen this year.
Chris Owens called for traveling on four separate occassions. There was a flagrant foul on the tip!

10th Region and 16th Region officiating differs greatly. 10th seems to be much more physical and more like the college game where 16th is much more touchy and inconsistent. But the officiating in this game couldnt be anyworse then it was last year when we came to St. Pat. (That game ended with 20 seconds left on the clock because a Lewis Co. player was knocked out going up for a layup when we were down by 20)
How did officiating determine the outcome of that game? FYI the players involved in that were JV guys working hard to defend the break, and they felt horrible about the boy getting hurt.

Another tournament with no seeding. Makes no sense. Oh well.

This is fact, the year J'town won the state title, every game at the state tourney the team that shot the most three pointers LOST. J'town took alot of high percentage shots. Thats why they won the State Tournament. Guards are great but u have to have some size!!!! If u look back to the last 5 state tourney's I bet over 90 % of all games at the state the team that has shot the most three's have lost. Do the research.

It's a big man's game. If you have a dominant big man you will win more often than if you have dominant guards. Reason: higher percentage shots, fewer shot attempts for the other team, and fewer high percentage shots for the other team. Unfair? Absolutely. Fact? Absolutely.

JUST FOR THE SAKE OF DISCUSSION, let's assume that the state would declare a three class basketball system (with the understanding that it will likely never happen) and after the restructure Northern Kentucky would find its three classes broken down as follows (broken down here by ability, more than size). The district competition would be done away with it and there would be three regional tournaments as follows:
Big Schools: Boone County, Conner, Ryle, Dixie Heights, CovCath, Holmes, Highlands, Campbell County, and Simon Kenton
Mid-Majors: St. Henry, Lloyd, Holy Cross, Newport, NCC, Brossart, Scott, and Walton-Verona
Small Schools: Heritage, Ludlow, Villa, Beechwood, Latin, Bellevue, Dayton, Calvary, and Silver Grove
Great Idea! :thumb:
Ohio has four divisions for basketball, but there are many more schools. Three divisions based on number of boys for the boys division and girls for the girls division. Can someone make this happen? Or does this make too much sense?

That list is a misprint. Stephen Mason was first team and one of the leading vote getters
