Middlesboro played without Daniel Griffin because of illness. Middlesboro was up 4 at the half. The game was close late as the Middlesboro bench got two techinicals.

Middlesboros Will Harrison and Nick Smith both had dunks tonite as the Jackets won by 30 against Lee,Va.

Whitley looked like a different team in the second half. #3 for Whitley hit some shots to get them back in the game. I think Middlesboro just got to comfortable again. The same thing happened at Barbouville just last week except that the tigers came back and won. Harrison also got in foul trouble in 3rd and ended up fouling out early in the 4th which hurt the jackets some.

Tied at 71 Barbourville has the ball with around 30 seconds and Middlesboro for whatever reason goes to a 2-3. Clark just holds the ball out front until about 12 seconds left and goes down the lane and knocks it off of his knee and continues to dribble and the ref calls a walk. Middlesboro gets the ball back with around 9 seconds dribbles down the middle and Clark steals it at the free line with about 5 seconds and goes the full length or the court to shoot a lay up as the horn sounds. Middlesboro was up by as many as 16 in the 3rd. Can someone that is not a Jacket fan give me an honest opinion about this team. I see the coach being most of the problem. I just want a outsiders opinion.

From the players that I have talked to there is no defenses drills being done during practice at all. They do some shooting drills and scrimage the rest of practice.In man to man defense they have no clue of where to be for help defense. Also talked someone that seen pg Antwain Brown leaving hoospital with arm in sling as he injured his shoulder in Bell game. This will really hurt the team as they have no other true pg.

I think player for player Middlesboro has a better team. But like I said im not taking anything from Bell. In my eyes they are definatly getting out coached and maybe out hustled. This Jones is better than the first Jones but at least Ed gave you something to laugh about when he would argue with an official which seemed to be every play.

Middlesboro was up by maybe eight in the 3rd quarter. Shawnta and the the Wilson kid played well for Bell. This may of been one of Middlesboros best defensive showings of the year even though they lost. They just seemed to be more active. Dont get me wrong im not taking anything away from Bell as they have won both meetings, but I think Middlesboro has a better all around team for the first time in many years. I dont know if its the coach or if the kids just dont want to play. But I think something needs to be done. I dont think the Harrison kid has even scored in double figures all year long and he has to be one of the most athletic big men that Middlesboro has had in years. He settles for fad away 12 foot shots. I dont know if anyone else has seen him in warm ups but the kid can jump. And yes i know thats just warm ups but he hasnt dunked the ball in a game all year. Does anyones know how the district brackets will be. Im wondering in the first round how the 3,4,5,6 seeds are paired.

I cant pick it up on the Middlesboro station tonight. Does anyone know any stations in the Cumberland area that would cover the game.

Since the Lady Jackets will play on Friday. The boys game has been moved to tonight Jan. 31.

Has anyone heard anything about Pinevilles big man Day not being 100%. I know he played last nite against Red Bird but I had heard over the weekend that he injured his shoulder in a play that a Model player recieved an intentional foul on.

After a made free throw by Cawood to put the trojans up by three. Middlesboro brings the ball down the court with around 9 seconds left on the clock and finds there big man Will Harrison open for his first career three as time expires to take the game to OT. The jackets got off to a slow start and were down by as many as 10 throughout the game.

Hes not as bad as the Jones that was there before him was at tryin to ref. Ed wanted to ref the entire game. They havent had any great players besides Miller.

Jones doesnt seem to have much displicine on the team. A man would figure that with him being first seargeant in the JROTC program and someone that played on one of the military branches basketball teams that there would be alot more respect shown to the coaching staff.

Harrison needs to step his game up. Ive seen him in warm ups and the kid has some ups. He dont post much or get looked at when he is as he seems to settle for the 4 to 6 foot fade away jump shot. He needs to post up and dunk the ball.

Pineville nor Middlesboro will beat Cumberland on any court. Pineville needed overtime and a crazy amount of free throws to beat Lynn Camp tonight and Middlesboro lost to overrated Bell County tonight.

Yes Cumberland would be favored over these two teams but anything can happen anynight.

Bell is 9 and 3 so far. Middlesboro also seemed to play man most of the night which is unusual for any Middlesboro team. Hopefully Jones will stick with the man to man and the team as a whole can work together and improve it each game. I think they have the athletic ability to play man, but is something that needs to be worked on fundmentally.
