Harrison is sophomore and junior loaded. They have a lot of young kids that are inexperienced but have one of the best pitchers in the region. They aren't as talented as in years past but I never count out a Mac Whitaker coached team. He will have his team ready to go in May.

I hope Harrison's football team treats the Juggs better than what their baseball does to visitors. They say it is a real home advantage on their diamond.
Yea that's why they have 4 state championship rings, the umpires are unfair at home. Harrison by 10 is my prediction.

Trame has done more with less over the last two years. Whitaker has a great pedigree, has won titles, produced major league ballplayers etc. But right now, today....I'd pick Trame to coach my team.
If you would take anyone in the 10th region to coach a baseball team other than Mac Whitaker you are misguided. How Mac Whitaker gets his kids to perform to their full potential is something you can't teach. Lately they haven't had the players to compete at as high of a level as usual. With all of state championships, amount of college and professional baseball players, national coach of the year recognitions for a school the size of Harrison County is remarkable. Harrison County hasn't had baseball tryouts ever that I can recall because of the amount of kids that are interested in baseball. The ones that are buy into his system and he gets the best out of every player.

Scott has the best player in Ohmer, the best coach in Trame, do everything Andrew Trame, and are returning champs. I think they win again.
Mac Whitaker is the best coach in the 10th region without a doubt.

Harrison County has a load of talent coming up. I am not sure if this year is when they all grow up or if it's next year but I wouldn't sleep on a Mac Whitaker coached baseball team. One pitcher will not win you a regional title.

Harrison Co. did not win the state in 88. Their only 3 championships came in 93, 97, 98.
Chris by the way is doing very well. He is currently living in Jackson, MS running something called the Performance Sports Academy.
4 state championships including 2010.

The SS for Harrison was also named Martin and the pitcher from Lawrence Co. was Michaels.
Shortstop was a kid with the last name Case. Martin played third.
-
Nick Maronde and Robbie Ross! Both were studs in their era.
-
Stroub should be the POY in the 10th if his offense improves. One of the best arms from behind the plate in the state.
-
Jordan Martin from Harrison County is a sophomore at Wabash valley junior college who is pre season ranked number 10 in the country.

What former players from the 10th region are still playing college or pro baseball?

Also, DJ lives with his grandmother in Georgetown. If his dad moved there he did this recently and I know this for a fact.
-
That is why he was sitting on the bench for Scott Co at the Beach Ball Classic. I just couldn't see him doing this and try to transfer back to the 10th region.
Of all these post I haven't seen one that talks about his focus on getting a good education wherever he ends up which is the most important reasoning for a school because basketball will not last forever. Also, he isn't the only kid from Harrison County to transfer for sports reasons. With better and more advanced coaches rather than players daddy's this stuff doesn't happen. I wonder if a star baseball player has ever transferred on Mac Whitaker? No because he makes you a better baseball player and prepares you for after high school. The whole thing is sketchy. I would personally just like to see him further his education after high school rather then bouncing around everywhere.

Dumloa was on fire in the first half. Had I think 5 three on 7 attempts. Olhmer played well but tonight didn't seem overly dominate.
Harrison looked out of sync a lot during this game. Thompson is a great player and shooter but I'm confused as to why the 6'5" foward isn't looking to post up more. :idunno: with his size and strength he could get to the line at will. He has a great shot from deep but I think he takes too many threes
With that said he did have a rare 4 point play.
It comes down to coaching.

Is Mark Taylor playing?
No.

On Monday, Oct. 20th, the KHSAA ruled DJ Jenkins eligible for the Scott Co. Cardinals. DJ's father currently rents from Harrison Co. Thorobred basketball coaches father in Cynthiana. KHSAA called Coach Kendall's father to verify that the Jenkins family still rented in Harrison Co. or if they'd moved to Georgetown? KHSAA receives information that rent was paid for the month of October and they STILL ruled kid eligible. Therefore, let it be known to ever player in the state of Kentucky, you can now be a free agent!! Live in another county and not play for your hometown team. KHSAA serves no purpose in my estimation.

Harrison county returns a solid defense. If they can find the pitching they will be tough. They have IMO the best player in John King.

Martin just absolutely ran out of gas. He was great through 6. I don't believe he threw a curveball at all the last 3 innings because he was so tired. Great season to Harrison County and I wish the best of luck to the three seniors.
-
It the good luck charm. It's been at every post season game I believe.
-
Youngstown state and Northern Kentucky have offerer him. I was told Eastern had him 87-88 but wasnt impressed with his curveball and was asked to walk on. He told me he was going to make his decision after the season was over but is leaning towards Wabash valley junior college.

Campbell county did nothing but try to get in Martins head the entire game. The head coach for Campbell county came up to Jordan after the game and told him how impressed he was with handling all the harrasment during the game.
-
Jordan Martin throws a complete game shutout due to some great defense and pitching. He also had the lone RBI of the game. I guess the technique from Campbell County to get under his skin by trash talk backfired. Congrats to the breds on another 10th region title!

Harrison drew Bracken first round is all that I know of.

Harrison County should play more Lexington schools if they want to win state championships.
