Didn't appear hurt, and no one seems to know about that. Sounds like an excuse.
The kid was born with a condition that gives him a slightly misplaced vertebrae and he got hit hard over the weekend which resulted in him having bad back spasms all week, he sat out the villa game and had been doing intense physical therapy all week just to get him ready for this game. Doesn't sound like an excuse to me, cut him some slack.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this I would have to say this was probably one of the worst officiating crews I have seen this year. Bryans versatility showed tonight and how he isn't just a scorer he was less forceful and to Villas disadvantage they had probably one of the worst shooting nights they have had this year.
How so?

Romes really came with something to prove against his old school. I don't know where Beuttel went though, he was no where to be found in the 2nd half. Shows Romes is the leader of this team.
I think part of that might have to do with Buettel having some pretty serious back problems that just got re aggravated within the past week or so. He's been in therapy all week so he may have been starting to get sore towards the end of the game.

 You can't be serious....
Is that comment asking if Bryan really is an 18 year old junior or is it saying that you don't think it makes a difference that he is
-
It was split last year, the D III coaches gave it to Love of VIlla, the Coaches association gave it to Hall of Beechwood.
Love swept the awards, he was POY from all 3. The Coaches association, NKAC and Greater Cinci Hall Of Fame

Your comments might make some sense if Euton was a freshman at UK right now.
As it is, he has two more years... two years... before he'll get to tip it up at UK. This kid works as hard as anyone in the gym... and harder than most. He's getting bigger, stronger and quicker to go with an outstanding head and heart for the game.
I predict that you will be amazed.
I realize that he has two more years, and I hope he does continue to improve all of those things. However, it seems that the kid is very physically mature for his age and athleticism is not exactly something that can be taught or gained through heart, basketball IQ, and hard work. I applaud those things and i think they will take him very far, I'm just saying that one thing that may hold him back eventually is his athleticism at this point. Who knows though, maybe he'll prove me wrong

Quickness and speed is what is keeping him from being a HIGH D-1 player. That being said he could get there. One thing he can do is fill it up and has good size.
Exactly, that's what I'm saying...I never said Jenkins wasn't D1 talent, easy BGE, I'm just constructively saying that he's going to need to improve his quickness to successfully compete as a big time shooting guard at the schools that he's looking at going to.
-
Jenkins has a great outside shot, but he definitely needs to improve his quickness to compete at the next level as he's too slow for his size for a big time D1 shooting guard
-
I realize that, which is why I'm so appalled...he's not overly athletic and had a slightly above average shot...he took care of the ball very well and made very good decisions, but was relatively unimpressive, especially playing with the likes of Rico Johnson and Elijah Pittman..I'll watch him again and if he proves me wrong consistently I'll eat my words, but until then, I still won't believe that he deserves such attention from schools like Louisville, IU, Tennessee, etc, and I'm not afraid to say that fully knowing that he has offers from some of those places...I'm not doubting that he could play at a smaller D1 institution, but as far as I've seen, I can't see him thriving at those bigger places
-
Ge'Lawn is hands down one of the quickest kids I've ever seen play at this level...on the other hand, while Euton does have a very good basketball skill set, I really don't think he has anywhere near the necassary athletic ability to successfully compete at a place like UK, and he's not big enough to compensate for it, so I think he may struggle at the next level.
-
He's good, but quite honestly I have no idea how so many people perceive him as such a high level D-1 player. The multiple times I saw him play over the summer he did not seem to be anywhere near that level at all.
-
Despite B Bryan being "frustrated" he was the 2nd leading scorer in the 9th region, along with also being in the top 5 in assists and steals. He is pretty intense and gets frustrated at times as do most competitive kids.
-
Its Beechwood and then everyone else this year in D-3
.......B. Bryan from Villa is hands down the best player in D-3, whether he wins poy is another matter. He is a great athlete, great ball handler, passer, he can rebound, score inside or out. There is nothing he doesn't do well. He will be doubled or tripled every game this year and will still put up numbers.

Where are the Holmes boys playing this summer? Johnson bros. etc
Ricardo, JJ and Elijah play on the KY Players along with G'lawn Guyn(sp?) from Scott Co., Aaron Crosby, and some other local players from Holmes,Dixie, etc and as far as I've seen they've played in a lot of local tournaments (like at Sportsville in Florence and SportsPlus up in Cincinnati)

Love from Villa is also up for the same honor, I'm sure he'd appreciate some votes too

Cov Cath very balanced squad with any 1 of 5 could hurt you. Shover, Grimes and Maile very strong in this game. Highlands depends on Mcgraw a little to much. Not strong enough 1 to 7 to beat a team like Cov Cath. Not a very good game for Simpson. Its not like they did anything special to stop him either.

I thought the Villa team looked tired at end of 4th and in OT. 4 of 5 starters played every minute of that game. The other stater played all but 2 min. St. Henry rotated their 9 guys keeping them fresh. In the end the defensive pressure did wear them down. I say congrats to St.Henry. The Villa guys did wear down at the end and lost a little edge.
-
THis was probably the game of the night. Villa Madonna played their hearts out and it's a shame they couldn't pull out the W in OT.
Villa had a 7-10 point lead the whole game until St henry started pressing. Once the press came, it was all down hill from there. Villa didn't handle it well at all and that was all St Henry needed.
Steven Love and Blake Bryan are good players but IMO Love forces things up too much. I know he averages close to 20 a game, so I'd be interested to see what his shooting percentage is.
Villa left it all out on the floor last night and gave their community something to be proud of. EVERYONE, outside of St Henry fans, were pulling for Villa to win. Class act by the Colonel Crazies in cheering on Villa as well adn helping Villa's cheering section with some cheers.
I believe he shot just under 50% from the field for the year, he seemed to be having an off night.

Lucky Dog is delusional. NCC very balanced. Beechwood has no one to match up with D Giesler. NCC by 8...
-
Blake Bryan easily the best soph in D-3, In top 5 in 9th region. Can play D, shoot , and distribute the ball....
-
Your right Love dropped 31..
-
This one is over early, Boone Co. by a lot.
-
Beechwood may be good on "paper" but they have only one proven reliable player in Hall. There not that far ahead of the pack
-
I think Noll is the key. If he does not play well or goes down they will be in trouble,
M Shover will end up playing a bigger role than most expect, probably at Rolles expense. He makes good decisions and is a more consistent shooter
Counts will help them as well inside.
