Who can answer this question? When was the last time the UK football team had more wins at the end of December than the UK basketball team?

If a coach plays all of the players on his bench and does not press the opposing team I feel that he has done everything possible to keep from running up the score. You should never ask your team not to play hard on the defensive end of the court or tell them not to try to score.

According to these rankings then some of the Eastern Ky teams aren't to far away from competing with the top teams in the state. Shelby Valley lost by 3 to #5 Warren Central. JBS lost by 1 To # 2 Mason County. Hazard beat #14 Madison Central. Paintsville loses by 1 to #11 South Laurel. Maybe the teams from the 14th, 15th, and 16th will have a chance to advance in the Sweet 16.

Two former coaches that I loved to watch was Danny Adams from Magoffin County and Randy McCoy from Elkhorn City. Both these guys were really intense and into the games.

Has anyone ever heard of revenue sharing? In the 15th region the regional tournament money is shared between all the regional schools. The tournament usually has a sponsor who picks up the cost of hosting the tournament. Makes no difference, money wise, if you are in the regional tournament or not.

I always thought it was great to see two teams with totally different styles play each other. I was always intrigued to see which team would control tempo. It is also more fun to watch football teams throw the ball 2 out of every 3 times, but sometimes that may not be your teams strength. Are we going to dictate how someone should play because it is more exciting?

Homeruns are way more exciting than a sacrifice bunt, but I have seen many teams get beat because they don't move runners. Leave the game as is!

In the 57th district, the girls and boys usually play each other on the same night. This is really hurting the JV programs of both teams. That's eight games that their JV programs lose. When you include all the tournaments that these programs are now playing in, many JV teams are only playing about 10-12 games in a season. I agree that the girls teams should have some prime time dates but there should be a better system than this in place.

I know it is early, but who are the frontrunners to make it to the 15th region tournament?

Nice win for the hornets on J.C.'s home floor. This really opens up this district. Paintsville is probably the favorite to win but the second seed could go to either of the other 4 teams. Where is the district played this year?

I agree, if you run your offense from inside out first you are going to get better looks. Many teams will zone J.B.S. to slow down Stepp's penetration. The zone is also spread out to help cover their shooters. They will have many opportunities to feed the post.
