The 2003-2007 Lex Catholic team had a very strong roster with the following commits:
Notre Dame, Evansville, Kentucky, and NKU

Because SHA played (3) out of state teams with a maximum .500 RPI score each plus their weak District with (2) teams under .350

I actually feel badly for Pikeville.
Pikeville beat SHA in a pre-season scrimmage. Better than people give them credit😏.

❤️ Final at SHA via Jason Frakes. Notes from his game thread ~ @kyhighs.
• Sacred Heart went on a 18-0 run in the first quarter, and the game went to a running clock near the end of the third.
• The Valkyries scored 41 points off of Jaguars turnovers. 👀
• Mercy was without the services of guard Alyssa Murphy, their second leading scorer and rebounder.

Great atmosphere! Standing room only with a plethora of HS coaches and players there as well. This is how girls HS basketball should be in this state.

Great game and great atmosphere last night! GRC will be formidable in a run towards the State championship. Strong inside game from the Byars sisters!

SHA is not the same team as last year. The Valkyries are still young (experience) on their bench with the departure of 5 seniors. This game will be good early test for BOTH teams.

If they do then that area of the state is playing at a level that is above and beyond the rest of the state.
What about Assumption? They used to have powerful teams.
Being from eastern Kentucky I’m not very familiar with the 6th and 7th.

My 2023 top ten... Assumption is down and will need at least (3) years to get back to competing in the 7th region.

In fairness, they lose starter Jesse Palmer, and you probably wouldn't care for being referred to as "no one".
My bad… they will be top 5 in 2023 easily.

Cooper is formidable and loses no one to graduation. I ‘expect’ Cooper to continue its success for years to come!

Valkyries close out Pandas with an 7-0 run..

IMO.... I'd add Cotton from Bardstown to this list as well..

Ralston is fine and okay to play.

Ryle was deemed preseason #1 for a reason. Through the injuries and competitive scheduling by their coach has them playing well in time for a run in March.
Should be a fun and exciting game and pretty sure the lady raiders remember the loss from last year too .

I'd caution you on this statement but 'generally' yes...

There were a number of kids, including Claire Johnson, who declined to play due to a variety of reasons.
