  1. The coaching career of young Coach Hinson has had some strange twists and turns. Starts out in the Bracken County system, then its onto Deming as JV Coach, then St. Patrick as head coach, now onto Augusta as an Associate Coach. Hopefully he will stay at Augusta like Coach Kelsch for stability sake. Anyone know how the freshman class and middle school teams have looked? Are there good classes coming up?

Most coaches do have twists and turns when coaching , Not everyone is lucky as Charlie Coles.. Why is that so strange and twisted, and why do you not like him so much,

  2. TubbyCAT is on vacation in a remote location according to my sources. I am sure he will have quite a bit to say about this topic and others upon his return.

Seems like Coach Kelsch is planning for the future, as AD and Head Coach. I know his son Tanner is going to be a freshman at AHS this up coming year. Maybe he stays at the helm til his son graduates and then hands the reigns over to Coach Hinson.

I thought he was in a remote location , Just really didint know. Must not even have Internet, hard to believe there is such a remote place these days

  3. You said it!! I feel sorry for the boys at St. Patrick as I was told they took the news very hard. They loved their coach I hope they still play as hard for a new coach as they did for coach Hinson.

Have not heard from Tubby cat on this deal. Maybe he had to have some smelling sauce when he heard the news on this one...might have passed out. That 8 ball hardly is ever wrong...

  4. Kind of a head scratcher on St. Patrick's part, but just as much or more so on Coach Hinson's part. Thought he would get away from Bracken County and eventually assistant coach or head coach a bigger 10th region school or maybe outside of the 10th region.:idunno:

What you mean....Why get away from Bracken County when he lives in Bracken County, Thats the problem here in Bracken No body wants. local People, According to the Crazy 8 Ball, never get excited people, He has to get his ducks in a row,,,

  5. Oh, please! All In, it's a shame that you use this forum to put down Chad and hide behind your avatar in order to do it. It is obvious that you have personal issues with Coach Persinger and therefore fail to see reality.

This forum doesn't have anything to do with the softball team. It seems to me that nobody in administration or otherwise (unless they had a kid playing on the team) ever gave a hoot about the softball team until now. Suddenly, we can't quit talking about them.

It's sickening the way you put down the softball team and any other team Persinger is affiliated with. It's right down sickening. And you shouldn't be allowed to do it---kids read this stuff and they don't need to hear about how you see their accomplishments as "underachieving" ---simply because you're out to get their coach.:idunno:

Amen brother .. I agree, Sounds like some one is Maybe jealous of Mr, Persinger, Hes young and Bracken bred. Give the Milford kid a chance, Im sure he will have those hands crossed alot or maybe he will pull his hair out first

  6. Just hope BC gets it right this time from the get go. If you think about it Bracken County has had some of the weirdest(in lue of a better word) coaching hires in recent memory. Maybe BearFacts can help out with this. In retrospect they could have turned out to look genius as brilliant hires or the way they look now. When was the last time Bracken County hired a Coach with VARSITY Coaching experience for Boys or Girls. Wasn't Coach Hammonds an assistant at Bourbon County before Bracken?, Jay Fite Coached Girls Varsity, but no Boys experience, I don't believe. Kelsch has been a JV Coach and then there are the hires of Schiltz and Breeze, which I don't know what to say. I don't know about the Coaching hires beyond the last 6-7 years, Did Fisher have varsity coaching experience before BC? Whatever the decision, it will be debated on this board for sure.:thumb:

From what I have seen in the past 25 years. I would say the only coach I can remember is Gary Mckinney, and on the Girls side would be one of the the better coaches to ever be at Bracken County... the great under par shooter on the golf course, Mr Gary Clayton..

  7. Two things you guys can mark down right now as a CERTAINTY:

Chad Persinger will be the NEW Head Boys Basketball Coach @ Bracken County HS! It will be announced very soon!

Jason Henson was NEVER gonna get the position! I am not saying anything negative about Coach Henson, but, it simply was just never gonna happen!

Are we scared to face the facts in this situation,Mr Hinson would and prob should be the next head coach,But are we not hiring him because he will not be a puppet on a string. Until we have someone like Coach Hinson. This school will never go forward.. This is and probwill be the only chance to get him. I like Persinger, But I Know the kids WILL NOT listen or may not even play under him..Mark it down, Alot different in softball then basketball. As a former college player my self, If you dont have a coach that you can respond and react to, them you are taken the wrong direction... Why you so hard on coach Hinson

  8. His support (or lack of it) was due to something other than basketball coaching abilities. It was more personal!

All of that does not matter. He deserves a shot. I am not sure if he even wants it but if he does, he deserves it! From what I have seen and been told, he has put a lot of time, years, energy, and effort into what he has done. Give him a shot BC admin.

Personal it was I believe. Also I believe Persinger has done something that 95% on here hasnt and thats play on a very successful Basketball team at KCC, and yes he is capable of Coaching at BC. Win 12 games and your a Saint here in BC. Maybe Persinger- Kelsch- Hinson, Reed Hamilton- Florer:banana:- And maybe even the Great Mike Appleman from Augusta.. he could help them on there free throws. I believe he was a 90% shooter from the line, Of course he told me that. PUT IT THIS AWAY. It wont be long as it has been coached named soon...

  9. PK, please bring out Captain Obvious. Bearfacts, I know he won't be on the coaching staff, but presently as I have stated he hasn't resigned.

No need for Captain Obvious or PK:popcorn:. Oh so now you know he wont be on the staff. ( I told you that 10 times) No need to be on Press Row when you are as close to the action as the ole Bear is... There will be a New Coach at BC, right it down and thats a BEARFACT. I will give you a hint. read the newspaper with in 3 weeks. as Paul Harvey use to say "GOOD DAY"

  10. If you're fired as a coach, then that does not mean that you don't go to school the next day. He is still an employee until the end of the district fiscal year. They could techinically require him to have spring weightlifting or June scrimmages.

You are correct, But as a basketball Expert that I am. He is "NOT" the coach. and will have nothing to do with the Ball program. We can say this and that, But thats the FACTS or the BEARFACTS:walk::banana:

  11. Middle School basketball plays around a one month schedule of games and practices one month before that, I believe, but not for sure. Season is usually over a couple of weeks before Christmas. When 3rd and 4th graders play more games than the Middle School, well that's a problem. But was always under the impression that the reason for the 8th grade not continuing to play tournaments, leagues, etc. on into January, February and March was that workouts, practice, etc. for the High School Lady Bears Softball team starts in the winter and seems to go year round. Does anyone know for sure?

You said it all, Sounds like your a BC insider ????

  12. I dont think you are allowed to coach at the Varsity level without being a teacher. So isnt this very simple? Persinger head coach, Florer assistant coach. Isnt he the assistant now? Two young, energetic guys that would work together for the boys! Seems simple but who knows what will happen. They will probably go for the big "out of town" coach again and the boys suffer due to it. Someone who doesnt really want to be there, just trying to get his feet wet and then move on when something a little better comes along.

Best thing to do is have 2 assistant coaches and no head coach, Give it to Persinger and Florer and thats the BEARFACTS , And the Head Coaches of the Polar Bears are Chad Persinger and Stac Florer. If the system dont do something, there will be no Basketball team. Every Year, Whos the coach, Every year whos it gonna be, Let them have it and Forget it. As they say. "SET IT AND FORGET IT " Both live with in 1/2 mile of school. How much closer would you wanna live and be a coach...

  13. No disrespect to your opinion but I do know Coach Persinger and Coach Kelsch and you could insert Coach Persinger's name in every where you used Coach Kelsch's name. Coach Kelsch has done a good job with the girls program but as someone alittle more familiar with this situation I would still say Coach Persinger is the most qualified person to lead the boys program.[/quote

Site Base will make that decision or will they ? or Superintendent, Who fired the BC coach last Friday anyone know for sure. Looks like they just used him as a stepping stone..:ohbrother:

  14. Brad Cox at Pendleton County is a fine young assistant that is going to make someone a nice head coach. Would be a good fit at Bracken County.

Chad Persinger and Patrick Kelsch are fine young men and coaches that also would be good hires.

The girls side would be sorely disappointed to lose Coach Kelsch, the man of a 1,000 picture avatars.

I believe the last 3 coaches were all out of towner's
