First of all, great game by both teams. I am always going to pull for a local team and have become quite the Russell fan in the past few years with their deep playoff runs. I have one question about the game.
On Mercer's first score, they went for it on 4th down, and scored off of a recovered fumble in the endzone. Am I wrong by saying that the score shouldn't have been granted? I thought on forth down the only person offense eligible to advance a fumble was the person who fumbled?
Anyway, that was it.
I want to congratulate both teams on a great game and great seasons. The game was fun to listen to.

If you had to listen to Russell's radio announcers, you would have thought the KHSAA announcers were the world's best. I had to quit listening to the Russell broadcast when one of their announcers got upset because he thought Russell had gotten a bad spot on one particular play. He thought Russell should have had the ball on the one yard line, and even when down to the field to the sideline reporter to ask him what he thought of the spot. The sideline reporter said "I'm not sure what you're wanting, but that was the two point conversion". :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Those guys were just brutal.
Well frist off when mercer had the ball 4th and 1 get ready to score we did stop them,cause when you stop someones movement the plat is over with,and they gave them the td,but anyways its over and done with so move on.

What a game. Both defenses deserve all the credit in the world. I KNEW this game was not going to be a blowout. The Devils should not hang their heads. What an effort by Kasey Clark and Wills for Russell and the same for Corey Jackson and Blake Arnold from Mercer.
My game ball goes to Arnold for Mercer. His three picks were huge. Game ball for Russell goes to Clark. 22 carries for 78 yards, 6 catches for 114 yards. Not sure how many tackles but he had two stops behind the line and I think 1 sack.
Congrats to the Mighty Mercer Titans! Great year for you guys and good luck next year. As for Russell, what a run guys. You guys represented us well and we could not be more proud of our Devils for hanging with the Titans. Congrats.
And now I can go take a breath!
hey rambler just wanted to let you know that he had 87 yards on 22 carries,and yes 6 catches 114,and thank you for the congrats,we played our harts out,and i just want to say a good game to mercer.

Russell wouldn't have been there without their players either!!!!!!!!!!! LET IT GO!! It's done and over!! I for one look forward to seeing how Mercer plays against Southwestern next season.......!
Well For One thing Russell has been together for the last four year together and when we won the championship last year we didn't have to merge to do it either.So all i can say is good job to the real STATE CHAMPS RUSSELL

Well they both are really great teams but I will have to go with Corbin on this one,but come next year I think Corbin will win it all,But should be a really great game when they both meet next year,it will come down to who wants it more,But With That said Lets GO RED DEVILS,I WILL SEE ALL YOU DEVILS FANS IN LOUISVILLE IN TWO DAYS

1. Ditto for Mercer
2. Will punch the time clock Friday, and get on a bus to take care of business.
3. Grew depth with entire JV and Freshmen squad playing a quarter or more in 10 of 14 games this year.
4. Are still improving after 14 games. Every game is showing a more balanced and well rounded team. They are peaking at EXACTLY the right time.
5. Ditto for Mercer. 8 two way starters last year......NONE full time this year.
6. Uh yeah...we have a few athletes ourself.
As far as being there for the entire game.....Mercer figures we might as well since we had to pay for the bus and all....and they're giving us 4 hours, might as well use them all.
So yes...you are correct THIS WILL BE A GOOD ONE.
I just have one thing to say abouit your #3 ? Out of the 14 games that we have played this year are starts have been out withen the frist two miunts of the start of the three Qurater,exsepted the last two games.

Who cares about the two school being two diff. school its done and over with,So to everyone the KHSAA was worng for letting it all happen,its no one fault from Mercer co. or Harrodsburg, So just let the kids play cause who ever wins or loses can say this we made it here and the rest of the state didn't,So I have seen both teams play and and i will say this the game will be a hole lot closer than everyone thinks,It Will be there better team that wins,and i think that Russell is the better team so it will be Russell 28-Mercer 21 So lets go red devils bring it back home for a back to back win.

No one will challenge Mercer... this season. Titans by 21 or more.
We will see about that one,,,,, everyone on here thinks that russell is a push over well i got some news for you they will not lay down to anyone,they will play there harts out,And no its not mercer's fult for still being in 2A it's khsaa they are the ones that let the two teams come together as one and when they are still going to two diff school and will be for the next year or two and thats what everyone is saying thats not far,

Can someone explain the no call on the safety? I heard someone say it was a touchback because he never had control, but he touched it at about the 12yd line, and then it rolled into the endzone where he jumped on it and slid out of bounds? Wasn't a big factor in the game because Belfry fumbled shortly after, but I was just wandering if that was the correct call.
Yes that was the right call you half to have control of the ball,so the ref made the right call,but if he hadn't it didn't matter like you said we got it back on the next play,and my hat goes off to the hole Belfry team and coaches you guys play one hell of a game, and we look to seeing you all next year.:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

To Belfry's players, keep your heads up. You had a fine season, you represent your school and your community well. You have accomplished much and we thank you for all the sweat and the pain and the tears and the many many hours of hard work you have put in. You are winners. Don't forget it.

I could not agree with you more very nicely said and for the other guy that thinks he couldn't out do the D coach at UK than tell me why he has had Coaching offers for other collages?????? And I know this cause I know Coach Morris better than some on here.....
