  1. The Danville Mustangs won the 16u tournament with a record of 3-0-1. When they played the nky knights 17u team. They pitched kids that hadnt pictched all year. The next week Colin Buckner, Jacob Bodner, and Darrell King played with the nky knights 16u in Georgetown and came in second in that tournament losing to Scott County's varisty team. Tyler Sexton and colin Buckner were the hitting standouts in the tournament hitting a combined 5 homeruns and 16 RBI's. Sexton pitched the semi-finals against Scott County's other team and also hit a homerun.

  3. I don't know of anyone in recent history who has been able to really compete out of Nelson Co. Since Mason left they haven't won many games, 12-22 since '05. mason had one bad season, and got the boot under some very politically charged conditions. He has now willingly inherited a team that graduated close to 30 seniors, is only returning 3 starters on defense(2 DB, 1 DL), and only 5 or more on offense (3 OL, 2 QB). With Mercers tough local schedule and talented group of inexperienced youngsters they will have a great season to go .500 or to make the playoffs. Best of luck, be ready to hit the ground running after dead period! Go titans.

  4. I can't even describe how upsetting it is to me the way Coach Mason has been treated durring this catastrophe. Even in his only quote in the Danville paper he took the high road and was very positive and genteel. I hope he doesn't just do what is right for the players, but he tries to do what is right for Bill Mason and the Mason family.

While at Mercer his defense held oponents to an average of less than 15 ppg in his 3 seasons, so he took care of his business. He has went to bat for players for anything they needed. He writes letters of recomendations, helps players find a college, is a positive male role model for young men, and he even spearheaded the off season weight lifting for football and basketball. Despite the fact he wasn't getting paid to do it. He does it not because its in his contract, but because it the right thing to do for the kids and the program.

The disrepect shown to him is even more of an embarrassment to the community, than the Weaver story. This put and even darker shadow over the district than what already loomed before with the merger, and other alleged incidents. Mason put his work into the program. What had the MCSH given him in return?

  5. Mercer is building a bright future but they must have the right coach, administration support and fan support to continue the growth.

Cundiff is a nice guy who gets a lot of flack for his coaching style. Should he be back? I say yes after what happened this year with his car accident. Spencer Tatum definately should not be the head coach. The man cannot coach which has been proven over several years at Harrodsburg and this year at Mercer.

To my knowledge, they have not fired their coach. However, rumblings are that it may not be a firing but that Nelson Cundiff will not be back next year. The Peanut Gallery (which includes me) is hoping that they will do a clean sweep of the bench and start over.

    So which is it?
