Cross will keep it close for the Vikings, but I'm going with Mason by 13.
Mason - 41
Rowan -28

Glad to see the Vikings getting it done alot of years of Peterson running up big numbers on them!
Exactly right, Rowan County didnt forget about Peterson running 70+ pts up on them in 2001 or 2002.

Fleming 20
Rowan 6

Did the whole backfield graduate? They were studs.

Both teams have work to do, but I was impressed with what I saw tonight. Fleming did what it took to win tonight. Raceland couldn't finish the deal. Very fun game to watch. Fleming is going to have to get that offense rolling because not every game can be won in the last minute, but what a way to finish. What a pretty pass/catch on the trick play late in the game. Fleming has Rowan next week. Goodluck to Raceland against GCHS.

It may have been, im not 100% sure.

Well said, and yes, the I to hope to see a great football game, and let the team that plays the best win.
To bad this game wasn't played last year, we had the son of two Fleming County natives on the team, Brett Denton. That would have been a good back story.
Greg Denton holds the all time tackle record at Fleming Co. And I think FC/Raceland scrimmaged 2 or 3 years ago @ Lawrence Co.

I think there's some newfound enthusiasm in Flemingsburg this season. Raceland will be an extremely tough opponent; should provide a nice yardstick by which to measure improvement over last year.
Exactly.. Fleming countys squad last year beat East Carter 33-0 in the grid-o-rama. The following week they played a good Harrison county team. They fell short of Harrison by 2 TD's both being late in a high scoring affair. After that Fleming never bounced back, and soon after began to lose athletes to injury. This year the Panthers have the same opportunity as last, to measure there impovements (as mcpapa stated) against a quality football team. Win lose or draw, Fleming needs to prove themselves Friday night and continue to prove to themselves every week, that they are a good football team.

Raceland's line is decent size, not huge, but good size. Should be a good match up.
What kind of defense does Fleming run? 5-3?
4-4 type of defense

How does Fleming look? I heard they had a pretty nice backfield. How big is the OL/DL? How did that one pass look?
Just wondering, I haven't heard much about Fleming lately.
I know that against Bourbon they threw it 3-5 times. They like to throw up a jumpball to #24 on the side lines, he can go get it.
OL/DL alot bigger then last years, not sure on the height/weight but I do know that they look substantially big.

Fleming County passed once in its opener at Nicholas County. Clark is a breakaway threat for the Panthers. The same Clark that was a state champion in the hurdles last spring?
Yep that's him.

Sorta reminds me of a Dog the Bounty Hunter knock off.. I never knew for a fact it was fake but always thought so haha. still good entertainment.

I heard its throwback night for NC, wearing the old Carlisle High uniforms. Anyone else heard this?

Panthers pull away late... Low scoring game.

Will Earlywine be back on the field this season after injuring his knee last year?
Pretty sure he will be

Conan is the only late nighter worth watching... Sorry Letterman

I laughed when Butters came in, and I hate that we dont know whoy Mysterion is.
-
Butters is one of the better characters due to his innocence.
:thumb: Agreed. Butters is my fav, although it is very hard to pick one.

What exactly is their schedule this upcoming season?
I'll try to get it to you ASAP

Wasn't a big fan of "The Coon" episode, looking forward to see what they bring us next week
-
Is this the year that Fleming County returns to the district with Mason County and RUssell?
Yes, and they also have Raceland and Woodford scheduled. Tough schedule to say the least.
-
they kicked this season off very nicely, very funny!

As an outsider I am curious. How high s profile job is this? Is Fleming a big school? Is there potential for success?
Since reaching the state tourney in the late 90's, the program has been on a slow downfall. Tons of potential in the next 5-6 years, excellent middle school class. Not taking anything away from next years seniors, they are a talented bunch as well, in need of a coach to get them on the same page.

I think Jay would be a great hire. He knows basketball... and like colonelfan said, his cousin could get him in there. I'm all for it.
Mason County 28 Rowan County 26

Great game. Alot closer then expected. Rowan's D came to play tonight and kept them in it the whole game.
