  1. Brice Smallwood of Dixie Heights. A tall lefty pitcher, that throws about 80- 83mph, with great off- speed. He was 1- 1 with several relief appearences as a frosh.

Joel Lubrano of Dixie Heights. Was pulled up as a frosh last season and hit over .500 with 20 some RBIs in only 15 games, not including tourney play.

  2. I play football and say many Dixie games last season... They have alot of senior experience coming back with Nichols(P, IF), Johnson(CF), Dettmer(SS), Cahill(P, 1B), Bricking(RF). Also all the young guns that saw alot of varsity last season, the frosh Popham(C, SS), sophmore Lubrano(C, 1B, DH), and two lefty soph P Stansberry, and Smallwood. Smallwood, I believe, is playing for Walt Terrel's summer team.

  3. It's senior night at Dixie, coming off a big win, and lots to prove. I like our odds.

    Dixie-24

    Ryle-14

Big win, but otherwise meaningless, younger guys need to get in to help out and also get some reps. Dixie wins, controls the game in almost every aspect. LETS BUILD SOME MOMENTUM BOYS!!!

  4. Dixie is getting ready to get thier motors in full gear I feel. These next couple weeks until the playoffs Dixie will be getting better at every aspect. I feel by the time CCH rolls around they will be in there prime, just in time for the Bluebirds. Dixie pulls off the upset (based on the first half they can move it agianst the Birds, just need a full game) against Highlands. Then goes to state to win it all.

Prove me right boys, it starts with conner this week!!!

  5. Sorry if this is already up, but i've looked for a linebacker thread and cant seem to find one, so here it is.

    My favorites so far-

    Highlands-55-Stein

    Dixie-52-Benson

I haven't seen all the teams in person yet so there are a few to start off with, lets here it!

  6. They have the potential to have one of the best lines in NKY, but it's not quite there yet. Until they get more aggressive and sustain their blocks, they'll continue to be an above average group. The line last year started the same way, and progressively got better as the season went along. They've gotten so used to pass blocking, that when they run block, they're not driving defenders backwards, and they're not sticking with the block. Red Heat mentions this every week too, so I'm not the only one noticing this.

Well let's hope this week that EJ and Bricking follow-up with an encore performence. If this happens the running game would open up alowing the blocking to be "easier." Dixie does have size, but Highlands quickness will be a very good test. I think the Colonels (especially since its homecoming weekend) will be up to the challenge. IMO they will be the difference in the game, like most games, but this one more importantly. When the birds blitz, we need to cover for as long as we can. Bricking, Dettmer, and Moloney will lead us to victory, but the boys in the trenches need to show them the way.

  7. I just don't understand how people don't think Dixie doesnt have the one of the best lines. All the pre talk before the Beechwood game was how big and bad the tigers o-line was, Dixie's was just as big and bad. Dixie has some monsters and a couple of them can move suprisingly well. They IMO are definatly one of the top o-lines in the nky. Now boys lets go out and prove me right by letting marty run all over the Bluebirds secondary. 1...2...3... DIXIE PRIDE!!! as one of the coaches quoted "Highlands tradition vs. Dixie PRIDE"

  8. Dixie WILL be ready this week. They have the line on both ways to do the job against Highlands, and certainly have the passing game to score quickly. For the colonels to win they will have to score points in the first half, which so far doesnt seem to be a problem, then Moloney needs to take over and control the clock. If Dixie can keep the ball away from Highland's offense for as long as possible, they can win. They just need to be around in the 3rd quarter, then they will build confidence. Should be a great game. Winner should get homefield advantage in the playoffs, I know Dixie doesn't want to leave thier homefield to play at Highlands. GO DIXIE!!!

Dixie wins- 27- 24 Not on a last second field goal, time will run out on the birds.
