  1. Totally incompetent. Discipline at the school is non-existent. It's no secret in Carroll County that he is the lowest ranked principal in the state according to the states school survey that every school does. Obviously the only reason he is employed is because he's the superintendents lap dog. I'm guessing it's not going to take long for Hunter Cantwell to realize he made a huge mistake.

  2. Very pathetic that this thread has come to this. In 2012, Coach Shef coached the District Player of the Year in Tyshaun Embs, where he broke the school record for rushing yards and finished 2nd in the state in rushing. But to say they were the dominant team (athletically) in the district is almost laughable. Yes Walton Verona easily handled Carroll that year because they should've. I believe that Mosier was a senior that year who went on to play at the UK, also that year both Lattimore's came into their own, David Carr was also a stand out player, followed by many other good players as well. Owen also had an extraordinary amount of talent that year as well with Chris Day, Trammel, Paul Banks, & Schmitz just to name a few. Yes Carroll did have a very good running game that Coach Shef was a huge factor in with Tyshaun Embs, but to say they were the dominant team reflects what you actually know. And to talk about "runs" within that district is also a laugh because there isn't enough talent besides Walton to make runs in that district year in and year out. I encourage you to look at the "athletes" in the schools of Class 2 District 5 and compare them to the athletes in the schools of NCC, Holy Cross, Lloyd, & Newport. Then tell me who should be making runs and dominating? Besides who cares about the past. Coach Shef is an outstanding coach with an outstanding FUTURE.

  3. I have heard that Coach I. has been given the job of coaching both the offensive and defensive lines for the Wildcats. If this is true' date=' it seems a bit unfair to everyone involved, players and coach. You can't learn this stuff overnight.[/quote']

Wasn't he the JV Coach last year? What happened to Coach Dawson? Did he not stick around? Also heard that a former Owen/Gallatin Coach might be joining Henry's staff. Any confirm?

  4. If you look at those progams and what they do as "can't be done here", then you should also include their sucess as "can't be done here." What exactly can Highlands and Boyle do that Henry can't? Is Henry not allowed to accept tuition students? It can be enforced. If the coach so chooses, he doesn't have to allow those players to participate in the sport that don't meet the requirements. Now if the administration chooses to not back his requirements, that is a different story. I would think the parents would be excited about this type of discipline.

What exactly is a tuition student?

  5. Just curious what "resources" an innercity small school that doesn't even have its own field (other than a crappy practice field that floods) might have? I am not parent , student or alum. I know nothing about Carroll County or its schedule . it doesn't matter to my point. All private schools do not have the resources a few of the larger ones do. Please do not make generalizations. Sorry it is a sore spot after I watched the three high schools in my district just put in new turf complexes on my tax payer dime.

They can give scholarships. . .

  6. Great article I hope Carroll county reads it. Strength of schedule is important in preparing for playoffs. Carroll needs to keep the De sales and Cal on their schedule and drop the teams that only allow you to pad tour record.

I'm guessing you are referring to all Carroll County athletics reds fan? Being that the football program has the hardest schedule in the entire school. I also don't understand your logic. Take Holy Cross for example, they beat the schools they were supposed to and with the exception of Beechwood got whipped by the ones they were supposed to. However in the end they will only play 1 more week than Carroll. So I hope they enjoy that win against Carroll because according to your logic they will take 4 whippings for the sake of beating Carroll County, because Holy Cross's season ends next week. I don't want to argue on an ammature website, but disagree with you on this one.

  7. What are you trying to accomplish? Shouldn't you be focusing on Anderson County at this point, instead of running your mouth about opponents from the past? You should really get your facts straight before making your false assumptions. Now, you can reply with some unintelligent post, but the bottom line is that you do not know what you are talking about. C'mon Percy get me out of here.

  8. Not only that, but what those at Henry County are also failing to realize is the financial opportunity that LCA presents for Coach Graham. Had he stayed at Henry County, he wasnt going to be teaching because he has put in his 27+ years for the state and now drawing full retirement, thus only receiving an $8,000 stipend for coaching on top of his Kentucky Teachers retirement that he is drawing. On the other hand, at LCA, Coach Graham can still pull his full teachers retirement and earn who knows how much in coaching and potentially a teaching salary at LCA (the term "double dipping" is often used for this).

Fact of the matter is, when it all boils down to it, teaching and coaching is a business- just like the business(es) that all of those on here upset with him are involved in with their careers. Coach Graham did what all of us ultimately do when it gets down to it, and that is, putting him and his family first. The sooner that all who are upset with him recognize that, the better off all will be. I wish nothing, but the best to all parties involved. LCA will keep on rolling under Graham, and somebody will step in and be a great fit to keep Henry County rolling as well. Best of luck to all.

In all seriousness, this is a great lesson for the youth of America. Life is a business, when it comes down to money, throw your integrity and character out the window, because when dealing with the youth, you view this from a business perspective. Since when has High school football become a mirror of the NFL? Anyways, I really feel bad for the players and parents of Henry County, although the Henry County administration got exactly what they asked for. But Ray Graham does have great stories. I hope the administration does the right thing this time around and hire Coach Ledford.

  9. Every year I read how certain players are going to get college attention. I read how many are going to get their college education payed for due to their athletic ability. I read how this player is "Good" and this player is "Better", how this player is going to get a scholarship, and how this player is going to get "D1" Scholarships. I read how this player is "Good" but he is only good enough to get NAIA attention. And I read how this player is getting "D1" attention but decided to go to a D2 school, so he must not be a real "D1" talent.

I read how these players are great and going to college to play football. Just getting the opportunity is a great accomplishment, no matter what level. But their is always criticism for them not getting D1 scholarships, or at least not accepting a D1 scholarship. Used to, people would only criticize for not getting any attention, then they started criticizing for not getting D1 attention, now they criticize for getting "Large D1" attention. Where does it end? Sometimes I think we are the players' worst enemies.

When is getting a college scholarship to play football good enough? When is being in the top tier of a sport good enough? When is just being "Good" good enough?

  10. Exactly skilld-kid. Seems like all state team is becoming more political and a who you know type thing. Seen a lot of good teams and kids this year not on the list. Teams and kids that went deep into the playoffs and even title games. I'm thinking if you got 1 or lets say 2 all staters on your team you may win more then 2-3 games a season. Happy for the ones who made the list. Taking nothing away from them. For those who didn't thats just more motivation and fuel to the fire.

  11. Holy Cross senior quarterback Markel Walker had a fantastic night:

    Passing - 11-17, 240 yds, 3 TDs

    Rushing - 12 carries, 86 yrds, 1 TD

Special Teams - 73 yd punt return for a TD

    Defense - 2 interceptions

Junior WR Josh Jasper had 4 catches for 151 yds and 2 TDs.

    Bring on Louisville DeSales!

Probably biting off more than you can chew.:thumb:

  12. The KHSAA went to four teams making the playoffs in 1991 and Beechwood started their massive run of state success the same season, winning ten titles in eighteen years. I thought it would be interesting to see who the Tigers have defeated in the first round and the average score.

First, Beechwood hasn't lost a first round game in that time. Second, they've beaten a whole lot of bad teams. Third, the average margin has been 41.3 points per game.

Use this information in predicting your final score of Beechwood/Trimble County:

    1991 - Paintsville, 54-12

    1992 - Paintsville, 45-8

    1993 - Paintsville, 41-20

    1994 - Bath County, 61-6

    1995 - Nicholas County, 49-14

    1996 - Berea, 53-13

    1997 - Berea, 49-6

    1998 - Nicholas County, 56-0

    1999 - Raceland, 44-12

    2000 - Fairview, 50-0

    2001 - Berea, 56-6

    2002 - Fairview, 55-7

    2003 - Raceland, 49-15

    2004 - Paris, 60-12

    2005 - Fairview, 55-13

    2006 - Dayton, 45-6

    2007 - Ludlow, 47-12

    2008 - Trimble County, 42-6

    Beechwood average points: 50.6

    Opponents average points: 9.3

Man, you have a lot of free time.
