  1. Pride, I not going to get into this with you, I know you are a diehard fan, thats why you are confused with my statement. Everybodys knows highschool sports don't have OWNER'S, but they dont have abase of fans, that surpports there sports, and a AD, athletic director, that over all sports programs. So I will make sure when I speaking sarcastically, I will break it down so you want be : CONFUSED:.

I'm not getting into anything with anybody, just stating the obvious, and, yes, believe it or not, I got your "sarcasm" (I felt you were the one confused) but spouting gibberish about the program (and attacking posters) does not help the situation. Neither does the constant criticism. I disagree that GRC does not have the base of fans; comparativley, on Friday night, our stands were almost as full as Danville's. There may be problems with the coaches and the players but I fully believe that if one group or the other could solve it, they would. No one wants to be 0-4. And no, it doesn't make sense that we are 0-4 but there are some years that just don't make sense. It takes more than talent to play and win football games.

Ya' gotta love 'em even when they lose. When players read this stuff, and they do, it doesn't help for it to always be negative, no matter how confused we may be:confused:

  2. If thing did'nt get better for GRC, they will be playing a 10-0 team in the frist round of the playoffs. If I was the owner of GRC, I would call a team meetting, and a coaching staff meetting, in my coaching staff meeting I would ask corresponding to the 0-4 start, and how each and every game was lost, I would ask, what can we do to turn this season around. I would tell the team, 0-4, thats a done deal, if you kids are looking to reinforce your season, let start with MC, a team that you have not beat in the past 10 years, lets make a commitment as ateam to go out and guarantee a 1-4 record, to start the rest of the season.

While I agree that things must get better for GRC, I'm a bit confused by a couple of your statements. First, who is the OWNER of GRC football? I'm pretty sure high school teams don't have OWNERS, stakeholders maybe, principals and superintendents definitley, but not OWNERS. Secondly, when quoting facts, one should get the correct facts. I must agree that GRC has not been very successful against Madison Central, however, they did beat them in 2001, the score was 31-20, according to the KHSAA scoreboard at khsaa.org. :fight:

I also agree with the PrideNeverDies that you schedule tough teams to make you better. And with the "new season" beginning on Friday night, the Cards have an opportunity to turn things around for the part of the season that truly counts.

  3. I think we must keep in mind that Danville is used to going up against the big boys week in and week out- and being successful at that. However, I think GRC can and will give them a game- they have to leave it all at the locker room door in Winchester and be ONE.:jump:

Yes, Tackett will be missed, but feel certain someone will step-up...:thumb:

  4. I think the Cards will regroup and work hard in practice this week and will be ready on Friday night. I also hope they will not focus on how many "A's" are in front of a team's name and prepare for the next 10 or so Friday nights. We want a long season because we're playing through Thanksgiving!!!!

    GO CARDS!!!

  5. This win didn't suprise me. The Indians are tuff at home. Was very interested in this game as MC is in our district ( play them at MC Sept 21th) and my Cards travel to Danville and take them on Sept 14th.

They played at Danville. This was a tough loss just like any Danville loss is tough. Clark Co. had a tough loss too so it wll be interesting to see how everyone rebounds from Opening night of the 2007 season. Sounds like MC will be making some noise this year!!!!

  6. Rumors around Scott Co. say Hundley has some interest in this one... It could be a great place for him to get head coaching experience and build a program down there in "Title Town". I hope he knows to pay the proper amount of respect to the AD. LOL

Being at Scott Co., I'm pretty sure he has paid homage to the AD. And I say this assuming your comment refers to the fact that the DHS AD is quite a successful football coach!! ;) However, I think everyone plays nice together at Danville. I think Danville would be lucky to get a kid like Hundley to work on the program. It's hard at Danville when your players are also playing football- and the football season at Danville tends to go pretty late!!! Not to mention the size of the school . . .

  7. Way to go Cards!!!!!

Again, a TEAM win! CC focused on PK and this allowed Tristan Jones to have a great inside game!! (Congrats to the Player of the Game!!) Great play by Robert Hatton as well!! PK came alive in the second half. Every kid out there today had at least 1 big play to contribute-- what more can you say?!?!?! And Robert and Evan Bennett sealed the deal at the end.

Let's keep it rolling Cards---beat Ballard!! This will be a tough one but we know you got one more in you--- and then on to Saturday!!!!!!

It was awesome to see so much red in Rupp today!!!

  8. Great post:thumb:

Are you sure...I can get very vocal at times....:D I will not be setting in the cheering section. We go every year so we already had our tickets. Hopefully I can get section 33 to join in and support the GRC CARDS.:ylsuper: I had alot of them helping me support Mason Co last year.

Thanks- I haven't been on b-ball this year (football about did me in and my computer had issues!) but I am ready to rock Rupp on Thurs.!! I think EVERYONE will be loud in Rupp-especially us happy GRC fans!!!

I hope our guys keep it going . . .

    GO CARDS!!!!!!

  9. I think we won't know how Montgomery Co. will handle a Regional Final if we never LET them attempt it. Sometimes change is painful but beneficial. To the post a ways back re: the Montgomery's gym was full "for the girls final"-- as the parent of female athletes, I take exception to this statement, for one- and secondly, maybe A LOT of people showed up to watch and that's why it was full, not b/c the gym is small?!?!?!

As for Robby Graham, I am a GRC fan who is VERY GLAD he came to Clark Co.-and not just b/c of the athletes he brought. Coach Graham, Coach Jones, and their families have been great assets to our school. Tristan and Robbelle are obviously great athletes but they are good kids as well.

As for our basketball team, yes, they struggled ugly at some points this year. and that struggling (playing without Tristan, Preston, Robbie) is the reason they won on Sunday. Kids got a chance to step up when these guys didn't play. I believe that was a HUGE factor on Sunday. It's good to peak at the right time!

Gold Sunrise, I hope my seats are close to yours on Thursday!! :jump:

  10. CONGRATULATIONS CARDS!!!!!! :thumb:

What a great TEAM effort- this whole Regional Tournament.

This game was so close all the way through- could've gone either way. I am so proud of you all for pulling together to FINISH a great game!

    GOOD LUCK at RUPP!!!!

    District Champs & Region Champs!!!!!!!

  11. Didn't Brossart start 7 or 8 seniors in the regional tournament last year? I don't think Clark or Montgomery lost that much and they were clearly the best two teams in the region last year, no reason to believe this year will be any different.

Yes, Brossart was loaded with seniors-- but I'm sure they will be ready to play come Opening Day!!! Clark only lost 1 District/Region game all last season and that was to Montgomery in the District Championship. But rebounded to take the Region -outscoring opponents 20-0. The MC/CC series is always tough!!! Looking forward to the season!

    :dancingpa

  12. What is everyones opinion on who will come out of their district? with the first team being the district winner.

    37th - Brossart & Campbell

    38th - Harrison & Nicholas

    39th - Bracken & Mason

    40th - Clark & Montgomery

    Any thoughts?

I think you are on the right path with your thoughts. I think there will be some surprises along the way-- someone always comes out of seemingly nowhere to shine!!! When it comes to Clark & Montgomery, it depends on who's got it going on that night!

    GO CARDS!!!!:jump: :jump:

  13. Solid game by GRC. HC just a better team but that's not slighting GRC at all. We just needed a more efiicient passing attack to keep HC from loading up in the box. I'm very proud of my Cards as they overcame alot of early season turmoil and jelled as a team when it counted.GRC may or may not be as good next year with the loss of Jones,Greene and Rogers. But...........we bounced back strong this season after losing Hudson, Perdue , Guinn, Skinner and Holliman to graduation. PC will have them very competitive and prepared next year.

Well put!! This team matured so much this year- on and off the field. All the guys you mentioned have played a huge part in the GRC program- and their influence will be felt for some time to come! Already looking forward to next year even with the tough schedule and crazy class system!

  14. To Henry Clay, Congratulations and Good Luck. Job well done.

GREAT JOB GRC!!!! I think you earned a lot of respect. Every player showed that you have a lot of heart-- you were not a team full of "superstars"-- you are a group of young men who just wanted to play ball and did your jobs. You truly were a family this year. You managed to overcome all the "trash talking" about your program and you hung in there. When you hear things like "GRC doesn't have enough lights on their scoreboard to handle the score of HC," it can be hard to maintain your composure- but you did and you did not lay down for them!! You have set the tone for future Cards!!! Thanks for a great year! ;)

  15. Cardinal Pride.....Are you buying a hot chocolate for me this week?

With rain on Wednesday, it doesn't make for a good mid-week practice, but I think the Cards will be ready. When GRC sees the predictions of HC winning, they are going to dig down deep and play their A game! I have no doubt that each player will give their best Friday. They have just begun to feel like a family and I don't think they are ready for that to end! GO CARDS!!!!

You bet I'm buyin'!!!!! You want M & M's too?

I think this will be GRC's best effort yet!!! So many positive things are starting to happen w/ these guys- this will be a GREAT time for them to peak!!

  16. GRC has talented starters, but none like HC. This one will be a suprise only to GRC fans when they see the scoreboard at the end of the game. The two met in the preseason and GRC had a few good runs, but could basically do nothing with HC. GRC may have gotten better since then, but HC is supernova right now. The comment the HC player made in the paper was probably true. Like last year vs. Trinity, they will only beat themselves.

Are you sure you were at THIS year's scrimmage between GRC and the Devils? From my recollection, GRC held their own very well- and HC had a little difficulty with them then. I do agree that they are more playoff tested and experienced- but fortunately for us GRC fans, the game will be played on Friday night and not in the Herald-Leader or on here! It is the postseaon and anything is possible- ask some other teams who thought they'd be playing HC on Friday night or beating them to get here. Looking forward to seeing ya'll at our place . . . . we'll have the hot chocolate ready!:D

  17. He made the decision he thought gave them the best chance to win the game. I probably would have kicked, but the Patriot kicker (while 3-for-3 on the night), looked a little shaky. I don't know why Lincoln ran the exact same play on the 2-point conversion that they did to score the touchdown. I thought Calhoun probably should have got a touch.

It was certainly a gutsy call. As for running the exact play, I guess you keep running what is working!! Their pass was working well- GRC's #9 just had that one pegged at that time. This is what makes Coach French a great coach- and teacher to his staff and players- and someone who will be leading Lincoln into more successful seasons. This was a great game that could have gone either way!! Either team would have represented our District well. Fans of both teams should be very proud.
