  1. As it was last year this game exhibited the best atmosphere in high school football. Both teams gave a great effort showed the kind of sportsmanship we can all be proud of and each refused to quit. Raceland can be proud they beat a 3A team that can make alot noise in the playoffs. May God bless both schools for the rest of year.

  2. Thoughts?

I look for a great game with a slight edge to which defense wants it more! Does Hayden still play LB? Last year I thought he did more damage on the defensive side than offensive. This year the Rams DB's are better and the guys up front are bigger and stronger. I 'll say Raceland 29-28 OT.

  3. This score will surprise lots of folks including east carter fans. East has talent and they are physical! but Kudos have to go out to what has to be one of the more promising young head coaches in the state in Aaron Baldwin (and his staff). He took one week and changed things completely offensively and it paid off big time.

The Raiders just took the Rams out behind the woodshed even with all the penalties and the early deficit due to special teams.

Raceland looked to be missing their two best linebackers for most of the game...any word on those two young men #20 and #35.

Congrats to Baldwins Boys and good luck to the Rams

#20 missed the 2nd.half after a shoulder injury near halftime, and #35 was out due to ?viral infection should know the status of both either tomorrow or Monday.

  4. Big confidence boost for the young Panther team. Since I'm an old Panther I went to this game because the Rams had an open date and it was a good one. Rowan is greatly improved from last year. Fleming was down by 18 and had kicked a FG but took the points off the board after a penalty (ruffing the kicker) then went in for the TD. After that it was a different Panther team defense was swarming and Fleming scored again and again all in the last 7 or 8 mins. of the game to win 21-18. #5 Cannon looked good on both sides of the ball, #26 for Fleming was a tough competitor also!

  5. Having not seen the others enough to really judge fairly on them I would say that the Raceland linebackers would be very hard to top. Especially J.T. Forrest and B. Denton and I apologize that I can't think of the names of the other/others right now but they are all effective. Forrest and Denton have been awesome from the LB position all season for the "orange crush" defense. Denton will not be playing this week vs. Paris or any futher possible games in this season's playoff run due to a knee injury vs. Paris last week. Brett will be missed in the Rams attack for sure. He (Denton) is only a sophomore and should be able to come back strong after surgery for the remaing of his time with the Ramblers. Forrest has been all over the field all year making plays and delivering monster hits. LCA's defense also has some very good LB's with good speed and they pursue the football very well.

Don't forget Johh Scott Carver I've watched him play linebacker since he was in 2nd. grade and he is a natural at that position, he has a nose for the ball and hits extremly hard.

  6. Let me recommend Dr. Rick Lyons - he is the BEST in Lexington.

He ended up performing the surgery on my son last year and he came back to play the last 9 games of his Senior year for LCA only 13 weeks after surgery!

He also worked his tail off to do that.

Dr. Lyons is very good and I can get his cell# to the Denton's if you PM me...

:thumb: Thanks for the info but the word is an appt. with Dr. Ireland

  7. I just spoke with the Denton's this morning. Brett is on crutches for a couple days and has a MRI tomorrow. They are hoping just a sprain, but not sure of severity. Mom said he will not be available for this weeks Paris game not sure if they face LCA if he will play then either.

 Update on Bret is a torn MCL and won't be back this season. He had a great season and will be missed during the playoffs but a full recovery is expected.

  8. For one, Raceland did not get whipped by LCA. The Rams played their WORST game of the season that night and still only got beat 21-10. The LCA loss was the best thing to happen to the Rams. They are more focused and determined than ever before. Remember my words... Raceland WILL beat LCA. No doubt about it. After they do that, I am VERY confident that they can make it all the way to Papa Johns. The RACELAND RAMS are LIGIT! Something special is happening in Raceland. But dont take my word for it, the stats and the play of the young men do all the talking. I advise you not to make an opinion about the Rams until you have seen them play.

The best thing the Rams can do is to focus on each game as it comes.
