I mean the Tolliver kid, he is a great hitter. Seems like a great kid too. The Breeding kid is a great player too. But were is the Tolliver kid going to play.
-
It was a great tournament and I would like to congratualte the jags players and coaches.
Also were is the middlesboros 1st baseman going to play ball, he is one of the best high school power hitters I've seen in a long time.

According to a lot of talk from coaches around the area Whitley County is switching from the Tony Franklin stuff to the wing-t.

I heard that Pitinos' attorney said Tom Creen from Marquette would be the guy for the cats.

That is great news to hear. I always thought North Laurel would be a good school to build a program. However, don't you think the numbers should be better at a school that big? For example, Raceland, a small Class A school is dressing 38 for spring, not including freshmen. North Laurel who should be 5A or 6A in the fall is only dressing 12 more kids???? At a school the size of North Laurel, they should average about 25-30 kids a class for football. The problem isn't just at North Laurel either. It seems like a lot of 1A and 2A schools get more extra curricular involvement out of a larger percentage of their student body than some big schools like North Laurel. Why is this?? I know this is a little off the subject.... Best of luck to North in 07.
Your right a 5A school should have double the kids of a 1A school but most
5A and 6A other than Lexington and Louisville (with some exceptions) schools don't. The problem in our area is basketball. And this isn't a knock against basketball or the coaches in laurel county but laurel county is traditionally a basketball school, and the sucess of SL and NL in basketball doesn't really help matters either. I think both schools are headed in the right direction numbers wise both will be between 70 and 80 kids next season. The only thing I think will get more kids out will be winning and that is something niether program has done a whole lot since the split in 1992.

North Laurel started spring ball on the 8th. They are dress around 50 varsity kids for their sesions. The first four days will all be individual fundamental practices with position coaches, while the next 5 will be team practices working on some areas the coaching staff feels the players lack. Such physical toughness, tackling, and turnovers as well as working basic offense and defensive packages. All practices will be followed by lift. And the last day (the day before spring break starts) they will have a blue/white scrimmage. This is the first season NL will have players mainly going one way with a few eceptions, but players will focus and practice one position. The blue/white game will be set up like a college spring game, and possibly will take place during school with the student body in attendence. Numbers have went up drasticly with staff expecting between 75 and 80 players including frosh.

What about the sidel kid from North?

Conway has done an excellent job this season and deserves the coach of the year award. After losing 4 starters from last season no one was picking this team to do a whole lot at the begining of the year but with emergence of shannon and siedel with asher they were going places. Now with asher gone NL is still hanging on with less talent than alot of the teams in the 13th. But if conway had the talent that cumberland has they would be in the drivers seat in the 13th that is why he should be the coach of the year.

Has anyone heard anything about the North Laurel Girls team this year?
-
Bush High School Mascot was the Blue Devils
Lily High School Colors were Black and Yellow (Gold), same as Middlesboro.
-
The blocking is just a small part of the problem for NL, IMO they have much bigger problems to deal with and questions to answer.
What are those problems and questions?
-
Yes Notre Dame offered Ty I heard he still may be waiting on Tubby, but with the amount of guards the cats will have next season I don't think it is likely.
-
I don't think any of the 5 should be ranked over Ty Proffitt

District 8 is the loser if their was a team good enough to play for a state championship. They would first play the Lexington winner in the region then the Louisville winner, and then the state championship.
-
NL's defense was the only bright spot for them from my calculations the GRC offense only scored on one drive at the begining of the game. As Jim Schue said NL turned the ball over all night, never could get anything going. This is a credit to the GRC defense, they are the best defense that I have seen. I remember seeing a thread about the inconsistency of GRC they really pulled it together tonight. I haven't seen Lincoln play but if GRC plays as well as they did tonight they will give Lincoln all they want.
BTW where is the GRC - Lincoln game at?
-
GRC - 21
NL - 24
NL wins in a close one to go to 2 - 0 in the district

The first time south had beaten Corbin in the History of the school was in 2001. Until then South Laurel had never beat Corbin in Football
Actually the first time South was beat by Corbin was in 1999. When South advanced to the third round of the playoffs the farthest any Laurel county team has ever made it

[Why does Milam not do sports cast any more on wymt.. all I ever see him do is sports overtime?/QUOTE]
Brian Milam is now in the Maketing department at wymt, he just does sports overtime because he loves high school sports.

I'm think this will be one the best games ever in the rivalry, other than the
`94 and the `03 games. SL has really dominated the series but this season i think NL is the better team. NL wins in a close one...
NL 45
SL 42
Come on guys lets here some predictions and scores.
