It's always easy to blame the former coach. Are you suggesting that he should have played the younger guys and let the seniors sit? And, what's wrong with playing to win? Isn't that how you get a state championship? Maybe its time to accept the reality - this combination of players/coach is just not of the same caliber as last year. No insult intened - just the facts. This happens all the time in sports - it is a re-building year. Now we need to wait to see if this coach can pull it off.

He wouldn't but that is called arrogance, common trait in Fort Thomas, not saying that Cov Cath is perfect but it seems that Fort Thomas talks up their Highschool sports a little much, especially when they didn't beat their archrival (Cov Cath), in anything this year except one bowling match (Cov Cath won the other 2 matches this bowling season)

Thanks for posting Shane Popham's stats. I would like to see the BG kicker's stats. Can someone from BG post these please?

Again, I say, just look at the 3A State Championship game for the past two years. Maybe the BG players just don't perform under pressure or maybe they are just continually over-rated. Their performance (or lack of) will show at the college level.

I also want to see the stats comparing the kickers. If the BG kid has better stats than the CCH kid, then the right kid was placed on this team. If not, then the selection was "slanted" and that doesn't say much for those doing the team selection.

The championship game speaks for itself - sorry, but BG just didn't show anything to impress anyone. Maybe The Scribe saw something that no one else did. Or maybe, just wishful thinking on his part.

If BG has any D1 players, it has to be based on size, not athletic ability. The championship game showed that clearly.

How did BG get four players on this team and Cov Cath only two? After seeing that championship game, it was evident where the talent exists. It doesn't seem right that the BG coach gets to pick. The coaches for this game should be removed from the voting so this slanted selection doesn't happen.

Who sponsors this game? Who selects the players and what criteria is used? I'd be surprised if 6 players from Bowling Green were on the team and none from Covington Catholic considering what everyone saw in the Championship game.

Don't fool yourself JC. CCH takes you very seriously. I know colonel players who were studying your game film on Thanksgiving night to continue preparation. They will come and they will be prepared!

I didn't know that there was an independent party (Henry521) who was responsible for checking the statistics for football players and reporting on accuracy. I'd be interested in hearing about his/her findings over the past few years. Is this a paid position?

What kind of stats do the JC boys have, i.e. Number of tackles, tackles per game, forced fumbles, etc.

wouldn't it be nice to see a defensive player get nominated? Too often they position the offense, who then seems to get the glory. Same goes for the offensive line.

Defense was a bit slow in the first half, but stepped it up in the second half. At least one starting linebacker was out with an injury.
