With a point guard like MacKenzie Martinez they should be good - saw her play this summer and she makes everyone on the floor better - very competive and can score at will. Best of luck to Butler and Martinez this season.

Congradulations to the 17u Fothergill Ky Premier team - in the Fila tourney in Louisville lost only
one game (by 5) to the tournament's winner from Az.
Great team work and great coaching!
-
Ivy Brown is fun to watch - really good player and will only get better - from what I understand she is only a soph to be
-
The girls battled hard to make it to the championship game in Bloomington - what they where not aware of is Premier has a rule that none of the Premier teams can play each other. The championship game for the tournament was never played. Fothergill's team made it to their first championship game this summer which would have been a great opportunity to be seen by more coaches. Lost opportunity for the girls.
-
This the Fothergill team is the other 17u team for Premier - not the Elite team - strong group of girls also

Great tourny win for Fothergill's 17uKentucky Premier at Derby Classic in Bloomington. Way to play girls!!!

Amen - not a big deal

Is Zack Haynes from Lex Cath on this team?
-
Arthur has had nice offers by several schools - UK and Georgetown - not sure if he has made a choice
-
Even if he never left and went to NJ he could not attend Lexcath again until his senior year - meeting with Lexcath was to see if possible change of mind on Lexcath side. Rules are rules and the adminstration made no exception because he is a fine basketball player. I would hope no school would hold it against a kid for trying to pursue a dream.
-
Lexcath releases players when they leave so he can play anywhere - if he chooses to come back his senior year the school he would be leaving would have the option to release or not
-
Jaylen will not be returning to lexcath - he is welcome to return his senior year - no idea where he might end up
-
Jaylen Beckham is headed to some school in New Jersey - may explain why he was not there.

I was impressed with #30 Karst??? She was the difference maker for CAL. She would be my candidate for Ms basketball on their team. CAL showed their maturity down the stretch with #30 leading the way. They also have a very good freshmen # 24 Dow. Best of luck in the semi's.

From what I saw tonight Holmes can only beat theirselves tomorrow. Elliott just wasn't that impressive and it seemed that Ethan had a lot of trouble getting the ball up the court.
If Holmes comes with there "A" game then they win this one by 12+, and I think even if they are just a little off they still pull out the win by 5 or more.
Holmes does not press like Shelby Valley. If you watched the Lex Cath game, when Catholic was patient they got a good look (did not make it unfortunately) inside and outside. Holmes will have a tough one tomorrow. Down to the wire, will take Elliott in this one.
Good Luck to both teams, what an accomplishment to get this far for both teams!!
-
The most impressive part of this game to me was while Catholic was trying to make a comeback they were causing Holmes to turn the ball over way too much, but Holmes defense was doing an incredible job of not letting Catholic get too many points off of all the turnovers.
Way to go Holmes! It's gonna be hard to lose tomorrow, that's the Holmes team we've all been expecting to see this year with all those great athletes. Oh yeah, the dunkfest in the 4th quarter was a lot of fun to watch too.
Holmes played a nice game. Was not impressed with their defense. Definitely impressed with their offense. Extremely good shooting. Great half court offense, very patient and unselfish. Will be a tall order for someone to beat them tomorrow.
Good Luck in the Semis

Lex CathHere is how this contest will work. You have to the pick the eight teams you think will win in round one. Each correct pick will be worth 1pt each. Then you have to pick the four teams you think will make it to the semi-finals. Each correct pick in this round will be worth 2 pts.
Next, pick the two teams you think will make it to the championship game. Each pick that you get correct will be worth 3 pts.
Finally pick the winner of the championship game. A correct pick will be worth 5pts.

Surprising score. Is Lex cath overrated?
A little, they have a long way to go if their going to get out of the District. Again ratings do not matter, in the post season when you lose you go home.:thumb:
-
What a game 2 technical fouls called on Lexcath - anyone had this happen -- first one called on coach because as the coach left to go to the locker room at half made a comment about the way the game was called and a fan from Jackson County told the ref what he said - so to start the 2nd half a tech was called against Lexcath. 2nd tech a Jackson County player shot a foul shot and a Lexcath player thought it was only one shot and jumped in front of Jackson County shooter to blockout and ref called a tech because she blocked out and should not have because she was suppose to get a second shot? Jackson player hit some big threes to keep them in front -

West Jessamine was led by Jarrod Polson with 51 points including 30 of 37 from the free throw line.
W J shot 55 freethrows. I think they made 45. Congrats to West Jesamine. They shoot freethrows well:thumb: Lex Cath shot 22, I think they made 16. West Jesamine misses 11 more freethrows they would have lost, but they stepped up and drained em, 45:thumb:
Again congrats to WJ and good luck the rest of the year:thumb:

The point guard Polson seemed to put on a show with 36 points...
He is a very solid player, what year is he?
