  1. I needed a few days to think about this game before posting any comments. When the head coach and sons lose a family member the day of the Williamstown game and continue to coach and play, and then come to play away at Henry County the day after the services, My heart goes out to them. I feel this had an impact on both games and you could see it in the coaching and playing of the team.

This being said, the same five players have started every game so far this year, with three hard nose players chopping at the bit to get their starting spots back from last year. When the coach, at practice, calls out for the top five, 9 players should walk out on the court. Perkins,Giles,Davis,Henson,Brown,Carrolton,Mattox,Jones,Jones. IMO, starting different players, depending on who we play, each game, will continue to keep all the players working hard to get a starting spot. Isn't this every coach's dream. I believe gallatin will come back strong from this loss and every player and coach will work hard to make it happen. GO! Wildcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My only reply is WOW!!!!!

  2. The game was equally as bad for both teams. There were 4 offensive fouls called on GC in the first four minutes of the game that were definetly wrong. I will be the first GC fan to say the refs were horrible, very bad, but I believe they were on both sides of the ball. And yes they probably had something to do with determing the margin of victory, but they had nothing to do with the "D" GC played in the third quarter. One last comment the ref told 44 to tell 20 on the previous play and I quote " tell 20 one more word and I'm going to get him" so it didn't matter what he said, he made a gesture and said something and that's all it took. GC's #21 got a tech for the exact same reaction why is no one saying anything about that call? Enough said best of luck W/V see you in Jan.

  3. When you were in school you obviously didn't pay attention in English class either. The JV team was in for a reason, we were dominating the Varsity team. As for the daughtery comment, you obviously weren't setting behind the Gallatin Bench where this incident took place. While you were at the game you obviously didn't notice much, but it always feels good to have a crutch to lean on and Walton's crutch for years has been that th referee's cost us that game[/b].

Your exactly right Mr. Curtain this is definetly a "novice" piece if scored on the CATS test.

  4. Coach Poynter has done a tremendous job in Bedford---period. There is nothing that can be said to dispute that. One of the first things you learn as a coach is to not listen to anything good or bad that people say. Trimble was bad for many years and he and his staff have built a young program into a respectful program in a short time.

  5. Gallatin wins 26-14. Got down 14 to 0 and scored on a 10 pass and then intercepted a pass and punched it in right before half to tie it up 14-14. Started the second half by picking off a pass and scored. Scored later on a long pass making the final 26-14. I think the cats are growing up.

  6. Your wrong "BOB"--your soph didn't play last year because they weren't good enough. Had the soph's been talented enough to play don't you think Coach Miller would have played them. The soph's in question were bench warmers on a team that lost to Gallatin 3 out of 4 times, and Carlton and Maddox were instrumental in all of the three victories. So be it you won the freshmen districts you seem to be the only one who cares in Carrollton. That must have been one heck of a tee shirt they gave you for that championship.

  7. If you want to be totally honest about it in one of the frosh games Carlton scored 15 straight and was taken out of the game bad some very bad officiating. Don't suspend me MR. GURU, I'm just trying to be as honest as I can. Don't get me wrong I think the youngsters from CC will be just fine, I just don't think they are in the same class as Carlton and Maddox. You obviously weren't at the class 1st round either. Carlton had probably the best five minute spirt I have ever seen against CC.

  8. Are you joking? The two only played two times and both were decided by less than 5 points. Gallatins frosh team had two 8th graders starting on it and only had 7 total players. Help me understand this---CC sophs didn't play at all for a team that Gallatin beat 3 out of for times. Gallatins sophs one started every game and the other was on every all tournement team that Gallatin played in. To me it's simple, none of the sophs at CC would have played a minute at Gallatin. It's not even close.

  9. Nobody is saying Gallatin is going to walk away with it, what most think is CC has alot to replace---90% of their scoring, 90% of their rebounds, and 90% of their assist---other than that they have a bunch returning. Best of luck to CC, I think Coach Miller will have his boy's poised for a run at the title come March.
