  1. I like Knott and Powell in the finals! Powell to the big dance!
Shew!!! Glad I am not the only one that thinks Knott can go to the finals. Their record does not reflect how good they really can be, notice I said can be. They are very quick and athletic, can shoot the three and have been playing team ball. Bench play is some what limited, in the district finals it produced turn overs and bad shot selection. " IMO" , If KCC can stay out of foul trouble and make their foul shots down the stretch they can go to Rupp....... no matter who goes I wish them the best of luck!

I know this don't look possible, but its only a matter of opinion. KCC has the same problem as Buckhorn, limited bench play. JBS & Hazard shoud be the favorites but got to go with a couple of upsets.

  3. It was an upset from the standpoint of the final point margin.
As far as point margin goes, yes it was an upset. If you want to base it on small school.....big school.... yes...upset, but team for team, no upset here. Buckhorn has a good team, their biggest weakness is depth. PCC was not as good this year as they have been in previous years. This is only one persons opinion...Buckhorn is the better team!

Like to see the smaller schools excell every once in a while, GOOD LUCK BUCKHORN!!!

  4. I cannot believe no one from JBS has not made any comments on the coach playing the best players or shall I say the correct ones. They have a lot of family ties involved with thier coaches and players. What does a parent do in this situation? Can coaches make the right decisions in this situation? ...Anyways back to the point most parents could care less if the team wins or loses as long as thier kid plays.......parents are the biggest problem for coaches, some constantly complain while others keep thier noses brown.

Coaches or parents don't always make the right decisions.

  5. So Coaches are always right, and never make mistakes. I do believe one of the if not the best player who ever played the game had a High School Coach in Wilmington NC who said he could not play either. Boy was he right.

    Give me a break.

I have seen kids get playing time and play well. Then make one mistake and sit the rest of the game. While seniors go out there making the same mistakes and nothing is said.

I see kids playing varsity ball that led the JV games in turnovers and shoot 20% in the same JV games.

People say defense wins, what good is it to steal a ball only to turn it over two seconds later or miss a wide open lay up.

    But Coaches are NEVER WRONG

Good reply.......Both you and I Reach I Teach have valid points. :thumb: It is true some kids are not allowed mistakes, while others have unlimited opportunities. Sometimes you can look around and figure out why this happens.......Most of the time coaches do know who will perform better, but when the majority of the fans starts questioning about a certain player usually there is something going on.
  6. Congrats Perry Central!

JBS has internal issues that will take them down if not solved. They are loaded with talent and size but not with team spirit........When family or politics becomes involved it takes the fun for players and fans alike away. This happens all to often in high school sports. If the truth were to be known some JBS fans were pulling for PCC.

  7. I think the problems started right after the WYMT when the younger Stepp started to play a significant amount of time. I think alot of the players and fans feel like he did not earn the position but was just given it. He can sometimes get hot and shoot the lights out but if he is not shooting he doesnt stop shooting. The biggest problem is that the shots that he is taking are the ones that Cox used to get. This team in my opinion was much better when Hall started at forward along with Collins and Short and had Cox and Stepp at guards. This team got an unbelieveable amount of rebounds and blocks and was discarded to get more time for the younger Stepp.

I think the jury is still out on what direction this team will go......I guess all teams have their own problems.....

This is kinda getting away from the thread but "IMO" if JBS don't win the 14th I look for some to transfer out. Its only going to get worse next year......
