Gotta take the good with the bad...but some on here take it to an extreme which to me is violating BGP rule #2. I am a firm believer in what goes around comes around, dont get me wrong. But we are talking about high school kids, not adults. Please keep this in mind. FOR THE RECORD- I would say the same thing to BC if BGP was up and running years ago. I pray for a safe and injury free game, cause I also enjoy watching these young men from Elliott.

Well fine, be that way.
We had people vote for Indiana, so maybe BC will get a vote or two.
I read just about evry post in here...why are always so negative about BC? Sure they are down, but you drag em through the mud.

This should be a barn burner............
ok ...maybe not......................
Elliott Co 128
Boyd Co 46

Somebody has to get this thread up, regardless..........
MOD poll please?:thumb:

Dont forget Pete Fraley as well.

You are way off, totally different styles of basketball. I would take my list vs your list at all their primes and beat you by 20.
-
Good win for the Eagles
-
yes but my point was BC has always been rich in tradition with basketball
-
SyndromeX....... wow great minds think alike!!!!LOL

I just got in from the Ashland/Boyd Co. game and all I can honestly say that I have no earthly idea what Boyd is trying to accomplish.
A proud tradition established by guys like Frank Lee, Adrian Black, Greg Fugate, and Antonio Owens has been turned into a circus act.
Beg to differ......The tradition started many years ago with guys like
Phil Pratt
Steve Towler
Davey Wooten
Brock Walters
Brad Taylor
Kent & kevin Sisler
Mark Vanhoose
JOEY WELLS
Junebug Rakes
Casey Sparks
Lewis Burke
Tyler Zornes......
need I go on????
MY point is tradition started a long time ago, not just in the 90's

You can not play the type of ball at BC unless you have some talent, and play to your strengths. Messer sets the first game vs Russell, and scores a ton of points in the second game vs Ashland. Why??? I believe RyanParker said this in the Russell thread. Messer, regardless of his size should be in the BC lineup. BC has no one to rebound, no one to score and turnovers are horrible. I think they had 12 in the first half. Things have to get better.

Mod can you add apoll? Game is friday night at 7:30

Two words for all of us BC fans...................LONG SEASON.............................I lost track of how many airballs were shot.................I just watched the game and I have a headache from it.
-
Great game girls!!!!!!!!!!

Antonio was a very good player but Frank Lee was the best all around ball player to play at Boyd during my life.
There is no way....................AO would smoke Frank Lee...............
-
Looked pretty good....very fast paced game.
-
Actually the year after Antonio had a better season, 3 players averaged over 13 pts. a game, the last BC team to make it to Morehead in about the last 10 years, and had an 11pt. lead over Elliott Co. in a 1st round matchup. Had a legit chance to win each night out.
Thats true.......wasnt that the same year that you and I defended our tag team titles against those boys from LA? (Lower Ashland)

You let them get a year or two under their belt. Alot of points from downtown were scored by sophomores and freshman in the red/white game. I think it will be a long year for BC this year. Seems as though kids are more interested in playing video games, or other things than playing sports. Is it failure by the administration to get them out or is it up to the coaches? My thought is that the since of pride and being part of a winning tradition should be all you need at BC. I know looking around in the stands, the turn out has also declined. In order to win you have to be competitive. The last few years Boyd has not been competitive, even with Selby last year. The last year they were competitive was when Antonio was there, and even he was rediculed for being a standout. BC needs to regroup and revive the winning tradition from past years.

I think we are in for a long season. The red team could not even get the ball across halfcourt, and the red team to mind understanding was supposed to be the "Better" team. I too am a Wooten fan, but UNTIL we get an atheletic big man or someone who can get the ball up the floor, we are in for a,long year. The Gindlesberger kid can flat out shoot the lights out of it. That is a bright spot. Another young kid-Cody Miller, can flatout play the defense. I look forward to watching them play, and in the next year or so they will be contenders

Dixie by as many as they want.....................
Dixie 45
Ashland 7
*** My thought is that its time for basketball in the Tomcat nation......********

Why go for two? Sounds like a bad coaching decision to me.
-
Faiview left their starters in against our JV this year also. Except the score was going the other way.
Doesn't that sound like........"What goes around comes around?"

Congratulations to Boyd Co. The Lions finish out the regular season as district champs and finishing the regular season at 6-4 / 3-0. This is a slight improvement from 2007 when BC finished 5-7 / 3-2.
Fairview completes a winning season too at 7-3 / 2-2…also a slight improvement from 07 when they went 6-5 / 2-3.
Also, I agree with the comments regarding presumptuous superiority based on school classification. Theoretically, larger schools should have greater pools of talent from which to select players, but we have so many examples of this not being the reality of it all.
Best of luck to both teams in the going deep in the upcoming second season.
Very well said Painter...............:thumb:
