Mars played Baker last night I believe. Anybody got a score on that?
-
6-4, 6-0 is a far cry from 8-0??? You're right instead of 8-0 it was 12-4. Either way, it was an obliteration.
Well if everybody on here just made up stats and scores with no basis in fact then this board would be pretty useless wouldn't it? And 4 games means a whole lot to who the #1 player in the region is seeing as how Baker beat Smith 6-0, 6-0.

I say Jessica Baker for #1 in the 13th.
I agree.

Megan Mars from Middlesboro is the top girls player in the region hands down. Ealier this season she beat Melanie Smith of Clay County 8-0. Not too mention, the Middlesboro girls are 13-0 with wins over several regional opponents. I would say the only other individual that has a chance to play Mars close is Baker from Knox Central.
Mars has already signed with Georgetown College.
Wrong!!! Mars beat Smith 6-4, 6-0. Yes it is still a victory for Mars but it is a far cry from 8-0. If you are going to post scores and stats at least make sure that they are correct especially if you are going to claim to be an "analyst".

If I'm not mistaken, the split sessions are voted on by all of the participating schools. As far as coaches getting passes, I know for a fact that every 13th region superintendent, principal, and athletic director was on the pass list and got a parking pass and hospitality pass. You would think they would give one to their head coach.

13th Region
Corbin's boys will be the hands down favorite to repeat as 13th region champs.
On the girls side it is hard to say. Middlesboro will be a threat to repeat as well. Clay County has a young team that should be a force in the region over the next couple years. Corbin should be pretty tough as always also.

So who are some of the other contenders in boys besides Corbin?

Tough road game for Clay. Harlan by 3.

Well I wasn't at the game so maybe I shouldn't have said anything but I was just going by what some of the people I know over in Manchester said. They are usually pretty reliable sources. Perhaps they were wrong.

Messer may have been the head coach on the radio but it looked to me like Coach Combs did 99.9% of the coaching on the floor in the victory.
That's interesting because the impression that I got was that Messer did in fact do the coaching. Many people I have talked to were very complimentary of the job that Coach Messer did particularly on the defensive end while the offense struggled as usual.

I would agree with Corbin's boys being the team to beat but don't overlook Clay County's girls. They lost last year's region champ Sarah Yost but everybody else returns. They could give Middlesboro a run for their money in the region.

Who are the top tennis teams in the 13th region going to be this year? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Jessica Baker of Knox Central defeated Megan Mars of Middlesboro for the girls singles title. Emily Crawford and Emily Osbourne of Middlesboro defeated Eloise Lynch and Becca Wilson of Whitley County for the girls doubles title. However, the girls team championship is still in doubt as Middlesboro and Clay County are tied for the lead. There will be a playoff between the two schools on Sunday for the regional title.
