  1. Jessica Baker of Knox Central defeated Megan Mars of Middlesboro for the girls singles title. Emily Crawford and Emily Osbourne of Middlesboro defeated Eloise Lynch and Becca Wilson of Whitley County for the girls doubles title. However, the girls team championship is still in doubt as Middlesboro and Clay County are tied for the lead. There will be a playoff between the two schools on Sunday for the regional title.

  2. 6-4, 6-0 is a far cry from 8-0??? You're right instead of 8-0 it was 12-4. Either way, it was an obliteration.

Well if everybody on here just made up stats and scores with no basis in fact then this board would be pretty useless wouldn't it? And 4 games means a whole lot to who the #1 player in the region is seeing as how Baker beat Smith 6-0, 6-0.

  3. Megan Mars from Middlesboro is the top girls player in the region hands down. Ealier this season she beat Melanie Smith of Clay County 8-0. Not too mention, the Middlesboro girls are 13-0 with wins over several regional opponents. I would say the only other individual that has a chance to play Mars close is Baker from Knox Central.

Mars has already signed with Georgetown College.

Wrong!!! Mars beat Smith 6-4, 6-0. Yes it is still a victory for Mars but it is a far cry from 8-0. If you are going to post scores and stats at least make sure that they are correct especially if you are going to claim to be an "analyst".

  4. If I'm not mistaken, the split sessions are voted on by all of the participating schools. As far as coaches getting passes, I know for a fact that every 13th region superintendent, principal, and athletic director was on the pass list and got a parking pass and hospitality pass. You would think they would give one to their head coach.

  5. Messer may have been the head coach on the radio but it looked to me like Coach Combs did 99.9% of the coaching on the floor in the victory.

That's interesting because the impression that I got was that Messer did in fact do the coaching. Many people I have talked to were very complimentary of the job that Coach Messer did particularly on the defensive end while the offense struggled as usual.
