Things will not improve until the supporters of SV athletics decide to look hard at the real problems and address them at the root, internally. Find out where the problems originate and make enough stink until they are addressed.

 

Blaming the BOE or for goodness sakes, another school in the county is a little misguided and a lot far fetched.

 

The site based council and the Principal do the hiring at the school and they are trusted to hire the best applicant for each job using an equitable process. If they have been shirking that duty to play politics, then you have your starting point.

 

You indicate that "now, I think the choice will be made by the site base and the principal" and my question is "why weren't they doing their job and making those choices before?"

I agree with you 100%!!!! Lets quit blaming the community because they support the program just as anyone else does. If your team is winning then they will come out a support but if not then they will not.

Watsup, I am not blaming anyone for the choices made. Yes the principal can go against everything anyone wants, but that doesn't happen a lot. That is if he wants to keep his job. I guess you have to be around it to no it. It is easy to say that the BOE is the best but go outside the Belfry area and they will tell you the truth. That has nothing to do with the success that SV football program has had, but Ben Howard was hired becuase of the BOE. He wasn't qualified and had to many other things around him!

To say the choice comes from the site base is a joke. You must not know how it is at Valley or for that much In PIKE COUNTY!

To say that Belfry was on the back burner for things in atheletics and school is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask any on that is in pike county that is in the school system and they will tell you Belfry!!!!!!!! Where is the Superintendant from and were is his assistant from?

Shelby Valley had all the support of the basketball team out their this year. They got everyone out they needed.

I guess that bringing Ben Howard in wasn't part of the plan from them! Yeah right! I guess shipping David Osborne to East Ridge wasn't their plan either! I guess offering Greg Napier a principal job wasn't part of the plan. I guess making a promise to Greg Newsome so he wouldn't apply for the job at valley wasn't in the palns either! All done to make sure that quailfed people wouldn't interview for the job so that Ben Howard was going to get it and then it blew up in their faces like a atomic bomb!!! How in the world could you not give it to someone like Donnie Daniels? Ben had never had any experience being a head coach. Now I think that the choice will be made by the site base and the principal. Look for someone to be hired that no one knows that is even going to apply. I love secrets

I have no idea! They started talking trash about Shelby Valley. I referred back to when Belfry played SV. I have no idea why. Who cares I said that Sheldon Clark would be the team to beat next year. Sorry for getting off topic!

Your right it will be a blood bath!!! SV will not win a game next year. They will be horrible. Belfry state championship days are over. When you don't have Howard and jones running the rock! Look for Sheldon Clark to be the team to beat next year!

That night at Shelby Valley was the first time I have ever heard of a team trying to not let the visiting team warm up on the playing field for pregame. Ever.

 

Shelby Valley has been the opponent for Belfry's senior night more than once. You should look at the film to see whether they warmed up on the field while Belfry introduced their seniors.

 

As far as the tunnel situation at Russell, it was an error by the Belfry cheerleaders setting up the tunnel in the wrong place and it was quickly corrected without incident. We've covered it in this thread early on.

Sorry for the misunderstanding! :thumb: I didn't know that Shelby Valley did that to Belfry. But it still doesn't matter! IT is all about repect to the seniors, but anyways I am still waiting replies from all those Belfry fans that said that I didn't know what I was talking about. I said that this Belfry team would not win state. I will say this for Belfry to go that far with what they lost last year is nothing short of a miracle!

Don't condone anything that was said by the players that was "unpolite", but you don't set your tunnel up in the middle of the home team's field like that. I can't imagine that happening last year at Vipperman.

This type of behavior doesn't supprise me after Belfry coming to Shelby Valley and warming up on the fields while senior night was going on and the parents of the soccer, football, track, cross country and Volleyball team were on the field. I told you that type of no class actions would catch up to you all! :sssh:

I told you all that some things would come back to you. I will say it when I probably shouldn't "I TOLD YOU SO! I told you that Belfry didn't have a championship team.

Great assessment Glacier! BUT to say that Leslie is a 20 pt better team than Belfry is insane. If following Bells strategy is what a team needs then I see both Sheldon Clark and Belfry being able to do that. Im not bashing you or Leslie but until they beat a team who is actually good then Ill hold my judgement on the Eagles. I, honestly, think a Leslie/Belfry regional finals would be quite an interesting ballgame. Do I see Leslie beating Belfry? Quite possibly. Do I see them beating Belfry by 20 pts or more? No way. I could be wrong but I think this Cardinal team can hang in there. You cant teach size and desire and this SC team has both. My head says Leslie by 10-14 but something tells me that SC could pull the upset in OT 34-28.

The only way Sheldon Clark or Belfry will even stay close is to control the ball. Belfry will have to put together long drvies because Leslie will score at will! Is Leslie a 20 point better team then BHS and SC yes! # 3 is the quickest back in the mountains!
