  1. After thinking it over South has a great coaching staff and a group of quality players. Lynn Camp may not be a great team but the score posted (even if joking) was uncalled for. As LC 99 said the cats beat Pineville on their on floor straight up so its no joke they are at the tourney, in the end only one team will be left standing and I'm 99% sure it will be South, if so good luck to them.

  2. I agree Jim heres my predictions

    North 63

    Bell 67

    South 100000

    Lynn Camp 18

    Bville 53

    Cawood 50

    Clay 69

    Corbin 61

I disagree with the SL LC score. LC will be able to score at least 40 and 10,000 is a heck of alot of points. What have you been smoking? After this post I hope that any team in the state that might play SL upsets them! At least Lynn Camp is still playing and many other teams are not.

  3. I think the toughest thing about all the new changes is South Laurel coming into the region. They are a great team. So winning the region would be a huge upset for anyone other than them. Had it not been for them moving in we would be talking about Bell, Clay, Corbin, Bville, and Pineville I believe as the main contenders this year.

The move made sense geography wise, but anyone else winning is going to be extremely hard.

Dont know where you been but Pineville is no longer a region contender after last night. I do agree the region would be wide open without South.

  4. I said the other day that LC can play with most teams in this region, if they play together, and tonight they played a great team game, and played 4 quarters something they didn't do the first time these two teams played. I thought LC feeded off the play of Freshmen Jonah Mitchell, who played as well as I have seen him. Adam Bray, Cody Dixon, Nathan Tanner, and Joe Siler also played very well on both ends of the floor. Big win for LC advancing to the District finals, and I think to the schools first visit to the region. Congrats to LC and Coach Pennington on his biggest win to date as coach of the Campers.
AGREE! Good game by both teams, Day is a monster inside, must weigh 250 and about 6'6, he and Dixon battled all night. The freshman for Lynn Camp (Mitchell) was a huge plus for LC,passed the ball where it should go and hustled all over the floor until he fouled out. Good to see Dixon can two free throws with about 7 seconds left to seal the game, times like this is why players practice hundreds and hundreds of ft. to be ready when the time comes he also ruled the backboards over Day in the second half. IMO this was only a small upset LC has a good team and could very well beat B'ville with the effort they gave tonight
  5. I agree a good bounce back for LC they seem to go up and down, hopefully they remain on the up bounce for the rest of the season and on Friday againest a pretty good Mcreary Central team. Dixon really dominated the 1st quater and this seemed to open up the offense for the rest, for a big 2nd, and rest of the game. W'burg kids played hard the whole game and never gave up.

  6. I know he got more shots per game last season as a Redhound...Cody would have really gave the Corbin team a chance to beat South this season. His size (6'6 to 6'8 depending on who measures) would be a great asset to a Corbin team that struggled (very lucky) to beat Cumberland on the road last night. I guess Coach Pennington is in a hard spot with Coach Mitchell and his son and Coach Dixon and his son on the team.....I would agree Coach Dixon is well schooled on his approach to the game. I will interested to see if both are on the sidelines next season. It might be that Coach Pennington is stuck with Mills only next year. Good Luck Cats. Beat Pineville and get to the region for the first time in like 30 years.

Why would you say he is in a hard spot, both Cody and the Mitchell boy are both good players and my point is that Wade Mitchell and Coach Dixon have both IMO been a big help to LC, why would they go anywhere? Why would you care anyway? Maybe you could get into coaching and help out LC, you seem to have all the answers.

  7. Sorry I know Coach Pennington is the Head man and Coach Mitchell seems to be the number two guy from the games I have watched... he coaches the JV games.......Wildcats listen to your Coaches.....and not your daddies'.... :p

You must not watch many games. Seems like Mitchell has a son on the team that also plays alot of minutes for a freshman, from the games I have watched Coach Dixon only tries to help the team as a whole not just out for his son, if this was the case Cody would sure get more than 7 or 8 shots a game.

  8. I saw in the paper where he was listed as 6'8 by Coach Pennington. He was 6'6 last season as a Redhound, I thought he may have grew. At any rate with only 7 shots agame............. he is again not being used correctly...... A kid like Cody should get that many offensive rebounds a game. I mean he has the size and strength to manhandle most his age at the high school level. Sad that the Lynn Camp Wildcats would not play as a team. With great players like Dixon, Eggan, Bray and Siler they could accomplish good things. I guess the selfishness that I witnessed while watching them play as Redhounds has again resurfaced and thus the results are following. I hope the Campers will start to listen to Coach Pennington and Wade and turn things around...........Of Course Red Bird is a hard place to play............Did the KING call the game?

I dont think anyone every called any of these players great, for what ever reason they all ended up at LC and I also hope they will start to listen to their coaches, I thought they had four coaches you must have left out Coach Mills and Dixon or maybe you meant to. Of the four players mentioned I dont think I ever heard Dixon called selfish you may be wrong there. Dont know who the KING is. After watching the Model game on Friday at Lc this game is not a huge surprise.

  9. I can't believe this. Dustin Day for Pineville had 25 points Tuesday against the smaller Red Bird Cardinals, so there is no reason why Dixon should have just 8 points.

I'm sure Day was put on the block and got the ball when he was open, the way the cats play sometimes the shot is in the air before the big men for LC cross the center court. How would Day look in this type offense? Great win for the Red Bird team.

  10. Wheels are coming off the Campers....? How can Red Bird hold 6'9 Cody Dixon to only 8 points? Is he injured? Sick? Big game coming up for the Wildcats against Williamsburg. This one shocks me. :irked:

We all know Dixon is not 6'9 where does that come from? Didn't make it to this game but was told Dixon only had 7 shots the entire game so eight points is not bad, but only getting 7 shot attempts is. Guards must have fired away again. Good win for Red Bird.

  11. Pineville is 17-4 and is working on the first 20 win season for Pineville in a very long time. The Clay Co. game will probably be the big respect game. IF (and thats a big word) they can when that then I believe all heads will turn.

All heads should have turned a long time ago, P'ville is a solid team with a very good coach. Should be a great game vs Clay on Tuesday.

  12. Sheesh, don't take it too hard. It's someone's opinion no need to cry about it. If you've watched Corbin play the past couple of weeks, you'll see they are very improved. Coach Wright at South said CORBIN is a very dangerous team, but heck, what does he know, he's just won a state title. And, how about taking a look at the Cantrall, Massey and Litkenhouse Ratings, I don't believe Lynn Camp is in the Top 10 in anyone of those?

Oh well, I just call them like I see'em.

If I disagree then I'm crying? If you will read I stated Corbin has improved and are getting better as a team but fact is they lost to Pineville at home who IMO should be ranked higher than them based on this. Coach Wright knows Corbin is a dangerous team he has been around awhile. If Lynn Camp is not on any other lists why are they on yours? Keep on calling them like you see them, but sometimes others have differnet opinions, I never thought LC was a top ten team at anytime, my point was don't put them at 10 then say they really dont belong there.

  13. To be honest, I was flirting with the idea of putting Cumberland at the 10 spot, but since he Campers beat the skins at home I went with them. But, I agree, Cumberland and Harlan aren't too far behind.

You should go ahead and take LC out, each week you act like they dont belong, why put them in "YOUR" top ten anyway? Hard to agree with a list that has Corbin (who have improved alot, and getting better) ahead of Pineville who has a very good record and beat the Hounds at Corbin. By the way LC has beaten Jackson Co. two of three and you are right they have beat Cumberland as well. For awhile you wanted to put a team with a losing record (Knox Central) in for the campers. May as well take the cats out, I'm sure it won't hurt any feelings.

  14. I am very fond of the 98 semifinal between Scott County and Lex Cath, Rick Jones had a great tourney and actually hit the game winner a deep three for this game. I lived in Lexington at the time and you could actually feel the life of the lex cath and Danny Haney sucked out of Rupp, it was awesome

I agree with this one unreal shot by Rick Jones, Clay vs Ballard was awsome also. 51 by Farmer wow! :ylsuper:
