  1. Crosstown rivalry game was never in doubt. Mason County led at quarter stops 28-6, 44-13, 65-22 and 77-29. Obviously, everyone saw action in this one. Not exactly sure about these stats so I apologize if I'm off by a point or two.

Five Lady Royals in double figures - Desarae Chambers 17, Torrey Chembers 14, Lacey Cline 13, Keller Menke 11 (including a 3rd-quarter buzzer-beater from half court) and Kasey Litzinger 10.

St. Patrick led by Cheryl Rutherford with 16. She can start for virtually any 10th Region team.

MC 57 rebounds (including 26 offensive), St. Pat 27. While turnovers were close (16 MC, 22 SP); points off TOs were not - something like 28-2 for Mason County.

Congratulations to Kasey Litzinger who moved into 10th place all-time on Lady Royals scoring list and to Lacey Cline, who moved past Angie Garrett into 2nd place all-time. Along with Desarae Chambers (first); that's three Lady Royals on this year's squad on the team's all-time top ten. And all three are juniors.

What an accomplishment...still a lot of basketball left for these girls to play..

  2. I thought I heard something about Jarrod not making it at Pikeville, and is either back home now, or not playing ball anymore?? Maybe a grade situation? Hopefully I have the story right. Not 100% sure about this one.

Last time i talked to Jarrod he told me he was redshirting and doing just fine...he didnt say anything to me about not playing...

  3. Any body who is watchin the women's Tennessee and Duke basketball game should check out his nice orange body paint...talk about school spirit...i dont think i have ever seen a coach do this...and he is in the student section...

  4. MCHS was pretty much a doormat until Coach Buchanan arrived. I trust him implicitly. The 1-9 record in 2004 was a combination of injuries, graduation and a tough schedule. From 1-9 to losing to Rockcastle by 1 point in the playoffs the following year is no small accomplishment.

Yes I know....I was proud of the boys the way they showed how much heart and dedication they had in themselves and Coach B.
