The game was played at GCHS. I believe it was Greenup County's first loss of the season. They do have some good looking kids and battled the whole game. Take awaytwo plays in the game for Ashland and GC wins 8-0.
Yeah too bad you can't do that, right?

Good job Tomcats!
Congrats Devon!

3 Thoughest Schedules
1. Johnson Central
2. Ashland
3. Russell
-
Im a Raceland fan and i think Fairview would beat Ashland. Ashland should be no higher than 7th . (at best):thumb:I agree. Not many would admit it, but it is true this year, in my opinion.
Fairview could not play with Ashland this season, Thomas has been a huge threat to many teams, and Fairview would just be one other team who could not stop the big plays.

My top 4...
Dixon (Oregon)
Woodson (Kentucky)
Harell (T.Tech)
Hart (Michigan)-the real big blue :ylsuper:
-
East Nor West should be ranked above Ashland.
-
Elliott Co., Ashland, Rose Hill all have great chances to be atop the 16th region.
-
How about Mr. Arliss Beach?
-
Mason is much more athletic
-
Just one more upset for this college football season!
RUTGERS by a touchdown.

So.................is it the "Super 7" , the "So-So 7" or the Pretty Good 7" ??
My List:
1. Johnson Central
2. Russell
3. Raceland
4. West Carter
5. Ashland
6. Fairview
7. East carter
GC Freshmen and Rose Hill Jr. high also recieving votes.
So why West Carter so high? Who have the beaten and suffered losses too?

Welcome to BGP HitSpuad.
What is not acceptable? 1-6 I was serious about, but the tie for number 7 I was joking. But, Greenup Co's freshman team is very good and undefeated with, I believe, only two offensive touchdowns scored against them. And Rose Hill's Junior High team is very good as well, I don't know their record, but they are very good.
Thanks, feels good to be back.
Super Seven includes Area "High School" varsity teams, not any middle school team or a freshmen team.

Franklin Co. 20
Harrison Co. 14

If some UK fans can say that about Brohm, why can't he say it about 'Dre?
UK's play calling is winning them games,
Louisville is not winning games,
Change the play calling!
WAY TO GO UK!!!
UK is now ranked 8th

Ashland has played against a lot of very tough teams, inculding Russell, Woodford Co., Montgomery Co., Raceland and Pikeville.
If they had played East, West, or Fairview Maybe they could have earned some easy wins and respect.
-
Personally I think it should be more like:
1. Johnson Central
2. Russell
3. Raceland
4. Fairview
5. West Carter
6. East Carter
7. Greenup Co's Freshmen Team
Rose Hill's Junior High Team
This is not acceptable

Well, why not!!!
hahaha:lol::lol::lol:

I have been really impressed with Darrell so far! He threw a couple really nice deep balls today. I also thought the new kid Tremell looked really good considering it was only his 2nd day of football practice ever!
Hopefully he will learn to play under pressure unlike he did last year during the JV season.

Got a comment/question/item for consideration:
Perhaps I'm a little paranoid (no jokes you guys), but aren't we making it too easy for our competition and just providing them the standard or bar to reach when we post our players lifting numbers or other stats on this forum?
It can be used as a motivational tool by other coaches and also gives other teams a handy measuring stick to see how they compare.
I don't mean to have a complete bunker mentality; like coaches who won't let their players participate in weight lifting contests, passing leagues, or discourages them from camps, etc.
Just thought I'd throw it out there to consider. I'm completely in favor of a strong weight program - thats what is needed to get past Rockcastle, Bell, etc (IMHO). Perhaps when our players have excelled someone could post they have a new high & encourage supporters to go by the weight room & see the totals??? UNLESS of course coaches prefer civilians stay away:p
Keep up the good work ..........
Cheers, Woody
Thanks for any consideration, but we at Ashland do not mind, people always throw there best stuff at us.
Whats new?

Got to love the academic team. Must have missed the update posts on this site

They have won too much lately, got lucky in football, and going to state should have been enough for them in basketball

It won’t be long now until spring practice begins. I understand that the team has been working hard in the weight room all winter and maxed out this week.
Here are the three highest maxes from each lift.
Squat:
Walters - 600
Gallaher - 535
Davis - 515
Bench:
Walters - 330
Parsley - 275
Gallaher - 275
Cleans:
Salyers - 255
Gallaher - 245
Walters - 235
I think these are impressive numbers. I can’t wait to see them on the practice field.
Cordell Earl got 245 on cleans.
Jeremy Nethercutt got 275 up on bench.
Is Carter suiting up for Ashland this year?

It is in Mr. Carter's hand right now if he will be on the Tomcat football team this season or the out of state school... Ironton
