  1. I don't know who will win this game, however I expect it to be a close one just like the last game. For HC to win I think playcalling on offense is the key. If they rely on the legs of Penny and Moore and still manage to air it out and use what got them here which is the Abeling to Sullivan connection they should be fine. If they play too conservatively like against Beechwood they will get beat.

  2. I'm sure vicars did have near 100 yards there is no doubt hes a great back he's gonna get his yards regardless. The thing is NCC couldn't just overpower HC when it came down to it. Yes they could move the ball in between the 20's, but when HC and NCC both knew they were gon run they couldn't run on the stacked defense of HC.

  3. There's no doubt that Newcath might have worked out some kinks, but I don't think the last time they played that there were many huge mistakes other than the Int's, and IMO thats who NCC is as a team if you force them to throw. The difference could be that they don't let HC score and get ahead and in that scenario they are able to continue to force the issue of their running game and never have to resort to a pass first offensive attack.

  4. No doubt Brossart will have a great team this year. As far as the mental toughness thing goes the only thing i could understand is if your talking about their inside talent. They may have the most mentally fierce competitor in Kentucky though at guard in Jimmy Uebel. Saying they don't have the mental toughness to come back from an 8 point deficeit in the second half is just ridiculous though.

  5. Everyone is talking about how the only reason Newcath lost is because of the turnovers, and that they won't do it this time because they will just run. If you were at the game you saw that Newcath tried very hard to run the whole first half. Their line just wasnt able to get any push up front against HC's and Baker and Scruggs were in the backfield all day pounding Vicars(which by the way is no knock on him because he's one of the best around). NCC was forced to throw the ball a lot in the second half because they were unable to dominate on the ground like they needed to in order to come back. The fact of the matter is Harris is a very athletic talented kid with a strong arm who will make big plays in the passing game, but at the same time he's prone to ill advised passes and INT's! Just because NCC was able to run effectively the past couple of weeks and didn't have to pass does not mean they will not turn the ball over against HC again. Having said that I'm not saying by any means that HC will win this game but I just don't see it going much different than the first one did, which in my opinion could have gone either way.

  6. He is a weapon. If I were Holy Cross I would work with him to see if he could punt too. Many kickers in the NFL can also punt in case of emergency and aren't bad at it. Why not give it a shot?

My guess would be they've tried this especially considering the fact that he was one of the punters used against NewCath.

  7. Boone might not have the players but they have good coaching. Farris and Dietz will have to carry the team and they only lost addison and there short was the only players they really lost last season. I thought they did good last year with contributing as a team. St. Henry and HC is no better than Boone, they have Greime and there pitcher and good hitter Shank. Holy Cross got Busse but have no one else and i believe Busse wont contribute that much because he wont get much run support and you had them in front of Scott too along with Sk which is a big no no. Travis Smith carried that team and they lost Brandon Bickers who came to Scott which is a lose of an arm.

??? Busse won't even be HC's number one pitcher this year, but I guess Jimmy Ryan isn't worth mentioning???

  8. Also since CCH rotates 3 guys in two spots essentially (Noll Young Schult), each of their individual production is lower. Add up all three of their stats and you will get 11 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. Also the 4 spot was responsible for guarding Steenken, and they did a pretty good job. Its good enough for two positions that are meant to be playing a role in Coach L's scheme, especially in a game where all 3 of them will admit they did not play well.

Not sure what game you saw but I didn't see anyone do a good job of guarding Steenken...??

  9. So you heard this opinion from one person? And you are claiming that a group of about 5000 CCH faithful are of the same opinion? Everyone that I know in my senior class loves Mike and when he makes an appearance at the CCH home games, he almost always gets a cheer to himself. And everyone wishes Michael the best and wants him to succeed except against CCH.

Not at all what I said(also if you notice I said I've heard it from more than one person). I also never said that CCH wishes Mike the worst and hopes he does bad. But you can still think he's not good enough to play at cch as well as hope he does good at Beechwood.
