  1. What a memory! Herman was a 5'6" dynamo on Faget's O and D lines from 1963 through 1965. He was tough, and a geninely nice guy.

     

    Flaget was an all boy Xaverian Brother school in Louisville's west end. The student body came from primarily blue collar homes. It offered an unparalleled education, excellent atheltics, and strong discipline. Many grads will recount tales of physical duress inflicted on rambunctious teenage boys by faculty members during their tenure at the school.:D Of course, schools can no longer engage in that type of discipline for fear of legal reprecussions.

     

    Bob Houk- All State End on the 1949 State Championship team. The rumor was that Paulie Miller turned down a job on Bear Bryant's UK staff to coach Houk after he left the seminary in 1948. Only played one year of football and only 1 1/2 years of basketball where he was also All State and set a record for scoring in Louisville. In a memorable LIT matchup Flaget beat Owensboro as Houk shutdown Cliff Hagan.
