  1. Madison Central allways and I mean allways has a close game with Creek Centrals defense just isnt suited to stop the power offense Creek has. It seems like they allways have succes running between the tackles. I will have to disagree about Centrals defense isnt any better than last year they allready have 14 interceptions in 3 games thats an amazing number. Good luck to TC on the rest of the season. Keep it up Central!!

  2. I dont look for Hope to get a chance just yet Coldiron played really well does any one know the stats from the game Rushing Passing ect......I was Inmpressed Central played really well looks like Miller the Defensive Coach changed to a 3-5 it worked great the line backers played down hill really well and didnt miss very many tackles. The 3-5 was the D that killed Central in 05 and 06 against Scott Co.

  3. The only player you listed that would have helped out is Andrew. Austin and Tyler played during middle school but honestly i don't believe they would have helped Central Much. And Ronnie didn't even play in Middle school so why would he play in High school. Like i said Bryan got plenty of innings, and its very possible to use a three man rotation. especially when you get into the district and regional tournaments

Ronnie played AAU Ball Andrew is just an athlete, Austin was a power hitter and Tyler couldve defanitly been used for pitching considering the only pitchers they had were Bryan and Thomas Luckily Stevie stepped up he never pitched until his junior year. Austin And Tyler both played With Central two years. You cant rely on only having 3 pitchers especially with Blanton on the mound if he was on no one could touch him but there was a lot of times when he dug his self into a big whole. Its unlikely to only use one pitcher the whole game you have to let the kids arm rest.

  4. I can not name 6 players who quit because of him...to be honest I only know one. If they played football then maybe that's why they didn't play baseball. Roof also had them play during the summer and maybe they chose football. I know Brian very well, we grew up together, and he did pitch some that year. But you can't tell me that he should have started over Chase Ponder, Michael Blanton, or Wiley. They were three of the best pitchers in the region that year, Brian got plenty of innings but there's no way he should have started over any of those players in the rotation.

I never said he shouldve started over Ponder,Wiley And Blanton but you cant just have a 3 pitcher rotation it just doesnt work that way plus bryan isnt a lefty like every one else. Roof didnt want players from the football team playin baseball, For the exception of Holbrook and strunk. You shouldnt keep kids from playin baseball just because they play football to its not right to ask them to play one sport. Here are some players. Austin Camp, Ronnie Letcher, Tyler Watson. Andrew Mathis shouldve been playing as well.

  5. I wouldn't call the past 2 seasons complete losses. A lot of kids have stepped into some big shoes to fill. I just hate to see a team with so much talent and potential underachieve.

I really hope I am wrong, but I can see MC struggling next year. They bring back a lot of skill kids, but they are going to be very young up front. The offense will have to depend on thier QB who will be a Sr. and he hasn't shown so far he can handle any sort of pressure.

From what I understand, the schedule includes Highlands, Dunbar, Danville, Lexington Catholic, Madison Southern, Boone County (?), Tates Creek, and district opponents Scott County, Shelby County, and Clark County. If MC's defense doesn't drastically improve, 2-8 or 3-7 isn't out of the question.

I dont see Central having a great season but i just dont see them being under 500 Turner and crew will pull somethin out of there hat hopefully. And i know for a fact Coach Scenters will be workin his butt off for the O-Line they have one real good tackle Patrick Ford, Dont ever count Centrals O-Line out what they lack in talent will be evend up with great technique and hopefully if were not gonna be big we will be Strong and Quick.

  6. He can't dictate who comes out for the team and who doesn't. I agree that there were some good players that didn't play but honestly he plays a full JV schedule. Thats paying attention to juniors and Sophmores. You can't tell me one underclassmen who should have started over a senior on their team that was regional runner up. His job is to win and he put the best team on the field.

He cant dictate who comes out but he couldve dictated who quit or didnt play

and by some of his actions thats why there were atleast 6 players that didnt play. But guess what the IRONIC thing is the 6 players except for one was 2 and 3 year STARTERS for Madison Centrals football team and the other started his senior year. That is taking away a lot of talent and athleticsm. And there shouldnt of been a Sophmore or Junior that started over any senior that year for the exception of Ashcraft in the Pitching rotation. But there defanitly shouldve been more than 3 Seniors in 06. Not 100% positive about having 3 Seniors but allmost.

  7. Madison Central has underachieved the past two years, plain and simple. With the talent they had, 7-4 and 6-5 is not acceptable.

The Indians problems over the past four years stem from one obvious issue, the inability to stop the run. Losses to Scott County, Lincoln County, Dunbar, and upsets by North Laurel and Montgomery County over the past few seasons back this up. Until the MC defense improves, 1st and 2nd round exits will be likely every year.

Your right Madison Central allways seems to play off there defense. When the defense plays well Centrals offense seems to click just as well. Madison Central did graduate 21 Seniors in 06 but they did have a down season but Central brings back some good talent. Rhodes RB is one that sticks out allso Keshawn Simpson plays FB and DE and he is an athlete there are several more atletes coming back. The only thing they lack is size thats something they have had to overcome the past 4 years.

  8. I've played against Madison Central plenty of times to know that Coach Roof is a good coach...They had a group of seniors two years ago who were really talented and lost to the team that won the state title. Madison Central could have easily won it that year as well. If you know about baseball you know that it's hard to lose every starter on the field and only have 1 or 2 pitchers who pitched and actually do well the next year. Not to offend anybody but the group that went 15-17 was just not as talented as the group that went 30-6. But he did do a great job with the group that only won 15 games, honestly I didn't think they would win that many with the schedule they always play. Madison Central will always be the favorite in the 44th district and will compete for the 11th region title. Roof is a great coach and a class act.

Like i said he didnt pay enough attention to the Sophmore And Junior Class two years ago. There was alot more Baseball talent at Madison Central than what was on the teamjust off the top of my head that started Freshman and Sophmore year for JV There were atleast 6 maybe a couple more that didnt play there Junior And Senior season thats why they were down last year

  9. Thats funny Roof is not at all the reason the Indian Defense has been bad, besides that Centrals defense hasent played very bad at all Madison Central allways takes on top notch Football Programs and in my opinion Roof shouldnt still be Coaching football at "Madison Central" Coach Parks is the DB coach which is what Roof coached Parks knowlege about football is much much better he was an All American DB At Georgetown College

Besides that lets stick to the forum.

  10. They were the best team i dont see how you can go 30-6

then to 15-17. You dont have have a great season then have a sloppy season. The reason they did so bad last year is because two years ago he didnt look into developing his sophmores and juniors. Now whos fault is that? The Players?

  11. Seems like alone on this one ive had first hand exsperiance with Roof two years ago Madison Central had so much talent every starter was a senior and all had great potential for going to the next level thats not just talk if you seen these kids play you know what im talkin about While his Records look very presentable they shouldve been much better. Central will still be on a down fall this season. The right coach wouldve competed for a state title two years ago. Mcmain went to EKU, Wiley UK, Ponder and Parks i think went to a Juco there was more than enough talent to make to the Title.
