  1. I've never cared when they checked receipts at Sam's Club. I don't really feel like they ever look much anyway, just swipe their highligther.

    Sam's is a whole different thing. When you sign up for a membership, you agree to show the receipt. If you don't, you can lose your membership.

  2. While the merchdise is yours once it's paid for, stores do have a right to verify all merchandise is paid for before exiting the store.

    The best shoplifters use store bags and old receipts to walk out with cart loads of merchandise. The receipt checks deter some of the and actually catch a decent percent. It is more useful as a deterrent than actually catching thieves.

    Honestly without receipt checks or the possibility of them, Walmarts losses would be even more staggering than they currently are.

    The store verification in my opinion takes place at the register.

  3. I was watching a video on youtube and the next video that came up was an incident where the customer refused to show his receipt to the Walmart greeter as he was leaving.

    I've seen a few before and Walmart always seems to state it's Walmart Policy(that's great, I don't work at Walmart and I didn't sign anything agreeing to follow Walmart's policy.) or Shopkeepers Priveledge. I had to look it up. For those that don't know it.... Shopkeeper's privilege is a law recognized in some parts of the United States under which a shopkeeper is allowed to detain a suspected shoplifter on store property for a reasonable period of time, so long as the shopkeeper has cause to believe that the person detained in fact committed, or attempted to commit, theft of store property. I believe this is a basic definition and each state has it's own version.

    I feel like when Walmart takes my money or swipes my credit card, that merchandise is now my property. I've been stopped once or twice and had no problem showing my receipt because the items were not bagged, so I can see how they would have a concern there.

    What are your thoughts on this practice? Do you have a problem with stopping and showing your receipt?

  4. We've all run in to them. Everything is terrible and they can never find anything good to say.

    How do you handle them? Is it even worth it to engage them in a conversation?

    We've got a couple negative nancy's here at work. Swear I've never heard one of them say anything positive. We got Nancy1 a cake for her b-day one year and she went off on someone about the icing. Needless to say that was the last time she got a cake from the group.

  5. :rolleyes: Oh good lets high jack another thread with your posts about new Reds owners.

    It's ridiculous. Literally every single thread he posts in gets ruined.

    I am still amazed at the amount of pro teams who either don't put a 3-5 year plan in place or if they do, they don't stick to it. There's no reason the Reds shouldn't be able to put a competitive team on the field after 3 years of rebuilding.

  6. Ok, I knew it would get mixed up.

    My comment was strictly looking at the last two years. They weren’t going to win many more games than they did. What bothers people and again I’m speculating, but the team and more importantly the coaching staff got away from some of the things that made Highlands football great. Most people will look at that think being great means wins and that’s just not the case.

    But what do I know. As I’ve been reminded several times in the last hour or so, I didn’t play football in high school.

  7. Somehow I knew this would end up a topic.

    NO ONE, Dale, Bob Beatty, Chuck Smith or any other great coach you want to mention was going to win a title at Highlands the last two years.

    Some things that I see that changed after Dale left are lack of self sacrifice and discipline by some players and the team didn’t appear to be as prepared and focused as they used to be.

  8. 2014 = 13-2 State Champ

    2015 = 8-6 Final 4

    2016 = 3-8

    2017 = 6-6

    I'm not saying there haven't been some questionable coaching decisions that may or may not have cost them a win or two here and there. Looks like 16/17 were the noted dip years. I don't care who coached in 2016, they weren't winning anything that year. 2017 they should have won a couple more games, but they weren't winning the title this year either.

  9. It's actually becoming comical now. Highlands football has been successful for over 100 years. They're 2nd in the nation in wins. They have 23 state titles, most of which came when playing up a class.

    People are acting like these last two years is going to be the new norm for Highlands.

    The same people who said there was going to be a dip in success/talent(whatever you want to call it) are the same people telling you that the talent is returning to normal levels. If you believed them when they said there would be a dip, why don't you believe them now when they tell you Highlands should be back to being Highlands in the upcoming seasons.

  10. Pretty sure it's operator error. I believe you HAVE to put a WR in your lineup.

    You will be submitting a new lineup each week. Each team will consist of 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR's, 1 Flex (can be RB, WR, or TE), and 1 Team Defense/Special Teams with no limit or restrictions between AFC or NFC teams. The Team Defense/Special Teams position will also include the kicker since he is technically part of the special teams unit
