  1. Pulaski has skill and maintains a tough schedule.  Wooldridge is the man for the job but with no varsity experience plays against him.  But they need to look back at the Foley Passover.   Hearing foley is not leaving SW.
Stonebreaker has success at smaller schools Where success is measured totally different than at established programs like PC.   Woodford county proved that and a smalll run at JeffersonT.    All good coaches but Pc is bigtime and some that apply will be tough to do what Hines has done.   But I’m hearing less than 6 apps.

  2. French, interesting.  That is a name I’ve not heard for this position.  PC is too big for Stonebreaker, his stint as Wolford Co. was not very good.   PC middle school program is larger than some 3A and 4A programs, so I think Wooldridge has to be considered.  If Foley wants to come over, then he has earned it but not sure how if he would.  Still can’t count out Russell.

  3. You wil NOT have 20 apps.  I doubt over 10.  If they do have 12, consider it lucky and at least half have never coached.    I’d Russell will be the front runner.   We let Foley get away, doubt  that mistake will be made twice in PC, so Wooldridge would have the advantage cause I still don’t think Foley will come-  but you never know.

  4. We’ve named some potential head coaches from others schools that may be interested.    Any potential assistant coaches or middle school coaches have a shot at it?  Maybe coach Phil Russell at PC?  What about northern middle head coach, Woodridge?  He’s won a few titles.  What about assts. from Boyle or Corbin?  🏈

Stonebreaker and Jaggers might be interested.  If Travis Burns doesn't go to SL as rumored,  he may have interest in this job as well.  Jaggers is rumored to have applied for Etown.  Stoney has ties in Lincoln so that would get him closer. Time will tell all things.

If Jaggers leaves LC, it would be to get back to E-Town.  PC is too strong of a program for Stonebreaker.  He is a good coach but you can’t pad your schedule in 5A as much as you can in 3A to get easy wins.  I can see PC assistant coach Phil having a shot.  I’m going to say no way in Foley.

  6. Student participation is down in your big sports like basketball and football but up in other sports like volleyball, field hockey, soccer,  baseball, etc.

I spoke to a group of kids and their response was interesting. Many say basketball and football players are “to good” to support them in their sports so they refuse to go their sport.  Hate to tell you but kids no longer put basketball players or football players on a pedestal like in the past.

There are several schools that do not charge students and the attendance numbers are still low.

The fans, bands, cheerleaders, will show up at District and Regional tournaments, so not hope is lost.

We are getting close now. Just a few weeks remain in the regular season and seeding play is coming to a close. We will do things a little differently this week. We will still go through the rankings, results and schedules, but first, we will take a deep dive into seeding.

    45th District

    Standings

    1. Lincoln 6-1

    2. Boyle County 4-2

    3. Danville Christian 3-3

    4. Garrard County 2-5

    5. Danville 1 - 5

Remaining Games - Danville at Lincoln, Boyle at Danville, Boyle at Danville Christian, Danville Christian at Garrard County

Boyle still has a shot at tying Lincoln for the one seed but it will require two road wins and Lincoln losing at home to Danville. I will go on the record and say that that exact combination of results is unlikely. But again, that tie is still possible. Boyle cannot go lower than 3rd so we do know that Lincoln and Boyle will be on opposite sides of the bracket. Danville Christian can clinch an appearance in the 2/3 game with a win over Garrard County. Garrard's only hope at 3rd is beating DCA and DCA also losing at home to Boyle County. Danville can only get out of the 4/5 game if everything Garrard needs to happen happens, Danville beats Lincoln and Boyle, and then it goes to a tie breaker. In the 45th, if head to head doesn't decide it, a point system is then used based, 2 points for every road win and 1 for every home win against district opponents and in-common regional opponents. I am unaware if KSD is partaking in tournament play this year. If they are, they are automatically the 6 seed and would play the 3.

    46th

    1. West Jessamine  7-0

    2. Mercer County 4-3

    3. East Jessamine 4-3

    4. Burgin 1-4

    5. Trinity Christian 0-6

Remaining games - West Jessamine at Burgin, Burgin at Mercer County, Trinity Christian at East Jessamine, Burgin at Trinity Christian

No drama here. West Jessamine will play the winner of Burgin and Trinity Christian in one semifinal and Mercer County and East Jessamine will play in the other.

    47th

    1. Somerset 5-1

    2. Pulaski County 5-1

    3. Casey County 1-5

    4. Rockcastle County 1-5

The tournament is also set in the 47th where Somerset won the coin toss but ended up with the tougher matchup on paper as they have had two really competitive games with their tournament opponent, Rockcastle County. Pulaski County plays Casey County in the other semifinal.

    48th

    1. McCreary County Central 6-0

    2. Wayne County 3-3

    3. Southwestern 3-3

    4. Somerset Christian 0-6

This one is also already set with no games left. To be fair, I don't actually know if Wayne County or Southwestern is the 2, but they are both locked into that game. Tiebreaker is unclear and doesn't matter for any reason other than jersey color. Those two will play each other and McCreary gets Somerset Christian who are making their first appearance in KHSAA postseason play.

    Rankings

    1. Lincoln County - Last week - win over DCA, loss to Boyle County. This week - at North Laurel, home against Mercer County and Danville

    2. West Jessamine - Last week - wins over Boyle, East Jessamine and Moore. This week - on the road against Burgin and Wayne County.

    3. Pulaski County - Last week - loss at Harlan County. This week - at Madison Southern and host Southwestern.

    4. McCreary Central - Last week - Defeated Wayne County twice as well as Somerset. This week - at Barbourville and host Clinton County.

    5. Danville - Last week - win over Garrard County and loss to Danville Christian. This week - host Boyle and travel to Lincoln County.

    6. Boyle County - Last week - loss to West Jessamine and win over Lincoln County. This week - Danville, South Laurel and East Jessamine.

    7. Danville Christian - Last week - Loss to Lincoln County and win over Danville. This week - Garrard County and Washington County.

    8. Somerset - Last week - win over Southwestern and loss to McCreary Central. This week - Wayne County, Pineville, and Somerset Christian School.

    9. Wayne County - Last week - two losses to McCreary Central. This week - at Somerset and host West Jessamine.

    10. Mercer County - Last week - win over Trinity Christian and loss to Lexington Christian. This week - on the road for Henry County, Rockcastle County and Lincoln County.

    11. Southwestern

    12. Rockcastle County

    13. Garrard County

    14. Casey County

    15. East Jessamine

    16. Burgin

    17. Somerset Christian

    18. Trinity Christian

    19. Kentucky School for the Deaf

The 12th is wide open, in my opinion.  No team really dominate this time of the season.   Some nice upsets this week that could carry over to some really good rematches.

Just read this on another forum. Heard there is interest in the position, but I'm extremely interested to see who actual candidates end up being via interviews and so on. Still hearing only 7-8 TRUE applications were sent in, but that number may have changed. At this point in a year, will be interested to see what type of coaches will move. Exciting times!

Only 7-8 lol. Man that’s a lot for any school in the 12th region.   If Casey has that many trust me it’s more than any open position the last few months.

At work tonight and on break, I read on another thread that the job is going offline this week? Any truth to that? Still hearing a few applicants, but nothing like the jobs that came open in their surrounding area. I would say maximum 6 applicants now. Interviews soon I would think

I’d would think 6 applicants is pretty good for any job in Casey Co.   Jobs like Danville and Somerset will always pull more interest. I know of at least 4 or 5 that were interested just not sure if they all applied.

I’ve seen the movie about Lincoln losing to the 4/5 in district tourney. Excuse me, if I’m reluctant to say it will happen.  I’ll have to see it to believe it first.  Most of the time they cruise in that game.

Lincoln will be ready. DCA and PC will be  ready.   Coin flip as of now

    Anybody else hear that?

That was the sound of what little remaining wind they had leaving the sails of the Admirals program completely.

Good lord, they really can't get out or their own way in the administrative offices up there in Danville, can they? This was absolutely made to be the opportunity to get Clevenger back in the saddle and pick up the pieces, and instead they just elect to sweep the pieces into a trash bag and throw them out.

I know people get upset when new coaches come in, been there myself as a parent, but living in the glory days gets us nothing. (And we know those days are valuable).

As parents everyone has to back a new coach wether we like tue situations or not.

Just saw this thread. Congrats to Coach Stonebreaker! Adair is getting a great football coach.

Now for Casey County. I don't forsee Peach or Cross being interested. Peach made a statement when he resigned from Danville that he may take some time off, which is understandable. Cross has been with Stonebreaker for some time, there have already been a few Casey assistant coaches resign before this annoucement anyway. I'd say Casey will be starting completely fresh.

All 3 of the assistant coaches listed earlier in the thread would make a really good hire at Casey. I can't say if any of the 3 would be interested or not, all 3 seem to be successful in their current roles.

Who is the Middle School Coach at Casey County? Long time guy or is he new as well? Could be one route they go.

I’m hearing several names interested, some already mentioned.  Casey County has great program.  Lots of support from community, school system, and alumni.    Lots of improvements to the facilities the last two years.
