Actually Boyle had longevity from the 70's on.  Buchanan was from '68-'73.  Ed Rall was from '74-'87 and had a winning record.  Sam Burke was one year interim.  John Griggs was from '89-'91.  Then Chuck Smith came.

My point was "Boyle Co. Football" was not "Boyle Co. Football" until Chuck Smith took over in 1992.  The dynasty began with Smith.

Why is long term not realistic?

I see the Boyle Co. Helmet in your profile picture.  Some may have said the same thing about long term success with the Rebels back in the day.  All it takes is the right coach, in the right situation, and "Jimmy's and Joes" to start building that foundation.  Boyle Co. should be the target of every school, in my opinion.

Nuke, that's the way I left feeling after watching the Taylor scrimmage. I honestly expected Taylor to win the scrimmage with what Casey lost from last year, but I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. I think I will chalk it up to a bad night for Casey and they aren't as bad as they looked, and Taylor is much better this year than last year.

Taylor is much better when the Smith brothers are healthy.  Their rough patch last season was when they were injured.

I’ve heard the same.  That’s a very likely scenario for those teams to be in the same district.

I would add Casey or Adair to that district depending on what Glasgow does with opting back to 3A.   Butler Co and Franklin Simpson already joining the current 3A D2 area. Edmonson is also, but as smallest 3A school they would move down if anyone is added to 3A.

Most jobs like Adair your are going to have up and downs years but you hope to build the program up to a level that the down years are still 6-7 win season and making the playoffs.  The bigger issue is a head coach is only 1 coach.  You are only as good as your assistants are and if you don't have stipends to attract coordinators/assistants to come help you then its tough to build a program to that level.  That is where administrators come in on getting stipends raised and giving coaches jobs in the building that are favorable to a coaches schedule.

Amen!  It is not hard to see the programs that have the support of the Board of Education and Administration.

After looking at it I think it goes like this:

    D1

Union, Trigg, Hop Central, Webster, Butler Co

    D2

    Franklin Simpson, Adair, Edmonson, Hart

(D1 and D2 are all CST teams)

    D3

    Bardstown, Larue, Marion, Thomas Nelson

    D4

CAL, Central, Henry, DeSales, Lloyd Memorial

I agree with the above; however if Glasgow requests to stay in 3A it will be interesting to see how alignment will shape up.  Adair seems to be in the middle of several potential destinations.  Could go west as above, north with the Bardstown,Marion, and Larue schools, or east with Casey, Rockcastle, etc.  Looks like to me Glasgow holds the cards on how Adair will be placed.  Do they want to go back to 2A and have Mayfield in the region, or be in a district with Franklin in 3A?  Will be interesting.
