In many cases being required to play in Round 1 is punishment. Imagine if you are a coach or a player on a 1-9 team, you have to travel 100 miles to play a 9-1 team during a week that might see the weather at 40 degrees and rain. Most folks in that position would say we did not earn this playoff game and we candidly would rather not play it.
Maybe adults feel that way. For the seniors on the teams they would most likely give their arm to play that game. I feel bad for those kids. They know they're not going to win but to just not play isn't something I can get behind.

It's punishment enough for these kids to not get play 1 more week.

I think Lloyd would be the underdog in both. Rock did go to Bell County and win this year, but historically that's a place you'd rather not have to go to. I also don't place as much stock in the Lloyd dismantling by LexCath. Lloyd could not have played a worse game regardless of opponent. I think Lloyd is in for a fight against in round 3/4 against anyone not in the Big 3, but the games are winnable.

I think it comes down to who can avoid LexCath the longest. I may have slight homerism here, but I don't see Fleming or East Carter beating Lloyd and CalPreps agrees. That said, RPI this week is going to be huge for the Juggs. They are neck and neck with LexCath right now, and while I don't think it will make that much of a difference in Round 3, potentially in round 4 we may see two teams not named Central/CAL/LC playing for a chance at going to State.
The Bell County/Belfry game also plays a big factor too. Belfry wins and it'll set up most likely LexCath and Lloyd rematch. Bell County wins then it'll depend on how RPI finishes to see who goes to Bell and who goes to Rockcastle
Obviously I am a Juggs fan, how do you see the potential matchup with Rock or Bell County? All I know is we may be traveling quite a distance if we make a run in the playoffs.
-
How do you guys see the Eastern side of 3 A play out?
I don't know much about our sister district and am really interested in Bell County at Belfry in the 2nd round.
-
Last year in 2 A, we had to go to Walton Verona for a 2nd round matchup and then hosted Breathitt County in the 3rd round.
-
I for one am hoping the rain comes in a little earlier than forecasted.
Juggs have to make this game physical and limit LC possessions. If the Juggs stay the course this will be a 4 quarter game, if LC comes out and gets up 14-0 it could be a long night in Erlanger.

LexCath by a ton. Game over by Halftime.
That is a lot of points in 1 half.

Based on the so called experts I am not even sure why Lloyd should show up Friday.

I knew that boy would be a star when I coached him at 7 years old.
He was throwing a football 30-35 yards on a rope.
Congrats Cam.

Depends on how talented the kid is that is transferring.

Security has to be better. I watched 1 Newport fan who was sitting courtside run across the court as the teams were being broken up.

What is everyone's take on Lloyds district placement?
Pair up with Louisville area teams, Lexington/75, or just fill in where Mason County was?
Seems to me we will have a couple long district games no matter what.

Thank you for confirming Juggs!
Since you felt so strongly about posting that please enlighten everyone on the adult who put their hands on a player.

Let’s hope the adults on the field keep their hands off players this time around.
Beechwood 49
Lloyd 14
Yeah because that is exactly what happened.

Is the Breathitt County/Knox Central game not factored in to the W/L for some reason?
I see the game reported in the results, but it doesn't seem to have changed the W/L column
It was just updated.

I believe the only chances are Beechwood loss to NCC, Owensboro Catholic winning + a ton of OWP/OOWP help for OC to pass Beechwood. Or the other unlikely scenario of Lexington Christian losing tonight, Lloyd getting OWP/OOWP help staying above LCA in the RPI, then having LCA beat Mayfield in the 3rd.
So yeah, if Lloyd makes it, you'll be seeing them in Fort Mitchell
Well detailed.

Lloyd moves to #7 pending the rest of the weeks games.
Up 2 spots from the start of this week.
-
The race for the #2 seed in East 2A.
Hoping Lloyd can stay ahead of Breathitt County and Shelby Valley.

Anyone got the stats of the game?
That debate should get me through the rest of my workday.

Is the loser of this the game the winner once the playoff bracket comes out?

I'm not even sure why Lloyd should even show up and play?
Everyone knows how good Beechwood is. I am not sure most could even name more than 4 players on Lloyd's roster.

We were just told to bring lawn chairs for the game tomorrow.
Does East Carter have stands or are they just really small?
