  1. Catholic is putting up big numbers and are clicking on all cylinders and I agree if they don’t put pressure on Atwell he will make them pay . Owensboro hasn’t put up big numbers until DC and that’s due to the caliber of teams they scheduled early  wich  we will see if it pays off with Catholic  . Owensboro is gonna have to have a  big night outta Winstead and Hampton ,Delacey needs to be smart and know when to throw and when to tuck it because he can hurt them with his wheels . Owensboro should be ready for war after the outcome last year and especially being at Rash Stadium …that place will be jumpin so with that being said I gotta roll with my Devils .

  2. Owensboro got better this game and I agree on the kickoff return being a weak call . Owensboro struggled early but the D adjusted and QB was a lot better for he seemed more comfortable throwing and tucking the ball and heading up field to keep the chains moving . Winstead is a work horse and Hampton can be trouble for any team as well . Playing these caliber of teams will help a young Red Devil team get better . Congrats to CAL on the win for they are really good football team .

Onward Christian Soldiers: Reigning 3A Champs Begin Quest For Repeat Against Rebuilt, But Dangerous, Red Devils

    Records: Season opener for both

    Series History: First ever meeting

Keep your eye on: CAL's pitch and catch components vs. Owensboro's last line of defense. Mr. Football candidate Cole Hodge lights the fuse for the Centurions with the return of his top three receivers, Darwin Cotton, Justin Ruffin (Army commit), and younger brother Connor Hodge. That's over 2,000 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns worth of production. The Red Devils will be rocking a largely rebuilt defense from the front end to the back. The secondary, in particular, is staring at a monumental task in Week 1. Also look out for running back Evan Hampton's possible coming out party for Owensboro. It's a matter of when, not if.

It’s hard to predict how Owensboro will be after watching a tough disciplined team that executes like Boyle co ! Owensboro will struggle at the QB position and the RB’s are solid and the O line has got to get better .I don’t see Owensboro’s  throwing game to be much of a factor just hope QB knows when to throw and when to tuck it and run upfield to keep the chains moving . D looks ok and I believe if they tighten up them D backs they will continue to get better just hope the offense does as well or it will be a long season for them .

  4. Owensboro should come out ticked off after the last 2 games with something to prove but I know Ocath will come to play an if a few more like Goodwin , Winstead  and Pendleton get more touches I believe it will be a long night for Ocath . Carbon and Rodgers have been solid and they are gonna do what they do and throw Carbon in the D and that home run throw will go away because he will make them pay .

  5. DC came to play and Owensboro wasn’t as sharp on offense as they were a week before and the defense made adjustments but with no Carbon on defense they give  up the big play wich they have done 2 weeks in a row . Boone didn’t make good decisions and it showed he needs to get better, Carbon is gonna do what he does but he needs help and in my opinion if they get Goodwin , Pendleton and Winstead more involved they will murder the scoreboard .

Can’t really tell for 100% sure off of 1 game against Apollo but I think the Aces might be one of the most underrated teams in the state. There Defense is solid. Attwell is the man at QB from what I hear and can throw it all over the field… DC is known to have a lackluster defense, so I’m thinking Aces will be able to put up a good amount of points. If they can slow down Parm and limit him to less than 200 all purpose yards I’ll take the Aces by 2 touchdowns

    Aces 35

    DC 21

I agree with you on this one , hard to tell after one game , OC defense isn’t the biggest but they are solid and If Atwell is on I think OC wins this as well .

Made too many mistakes. What an incredible game. However, all I will ever remember is Owensboro running to the locker room taunting and flipping the bird to our guys, and refusing to shake hands.

    Number 6 for O is a load.

The rain hurt us. Took away our passing game which has been a huge strength for us.

Bad sportsmanship is never acceptable but Graves has said things that are far worse than the bird .
