Every year I here about how great Ryle’s Freshman class is and equals nothing when their Seniors!
Some of it is coaching and also the lack of facilities in Boone County schools. Ryle’s weight room puts them at a disadvantage. Last years Senior group was really talented and with some better coaching they could have gone further.

My 2 cents on the game. Yes the fair catch early whistle was a terrible call. I really put this Ryle loss on the coaches. They never figured out the whole year that we could be a dominant run team. They put to much pressure on their young quarterback and he just had one of those games that he needs to learn from. Ryle's Colemire, Yowan and Savage really never touched the ball in the first half. They continued to try and throw the ball and force things. Ryle's D was up to task but 4 turnovers in the first half was to much to overcome. If Ryle would have stuck to the run I think it's a much closer game. Congrats to trinity and ryle continues to be outcoached on the offensive side of the ball year in and year out. The coaches panicked when we went down 14-3 and put it all on the ryle's young QB to bring them back.

This should be another NKY vs Louisville edition. The NKY teams put up good numbers all season until they play T, M or X in the playoffs. A different type of football is played here. Go ROCKS!!!!
Whatever! SMH

No disrespect taken, Ryle is the underdog but will leave it all on the field. They have strong senior leadership and will compete, nothing to lose refers to nobody giving them a chance to win.

Ballard never adjusted to Trinity's all out blitzes. Ryle's coaching staff will need to figure how to adjust, easier said than done. Ryle has nothing to lose and will be ready but huge task ahead of them with Trinity hitting on all cylinders.

Ryle did not have any 5th year players.

Pretty sure Simon Kenton scored 21 on them that is close!
They scored 9 against the 1st team D, the other scores were late when Ryle was up big. SK has a good offense just had no D.

Ryle's D will have to keep them in this game but no one has come close to scoring 28 on Ryle's D minus the 1st game of the year against Lex Cath. Ryle was able to put it all together last week and played their best game of the year. It should have been a shut out if it wasn't for a missed interception that landed in the receivers lap. Ryle will need to play a perfect game to have a chance. Weather looks great, should be a great crowd and atmosphere. Best of luck to both teams.

For what it's worth CalPreps has this game 28-20 in favor of Trinity. I don't see either defense giving up that many points.

Impressive Ryle defense last night holding Dixie to 119 total yards. Ryle cleaned up their penalties and really spread the ball around on offense. Excited to see how they match with Trinity next week.

It should be a classic tonight but I don’t see Dixie ending Ryle’s season for a 3rd straight year. Dixie has some studs but Ryle is the better team imo. Weather may be a factor which favors Ryle’s run game.

When Highlands people have said the dudes are there, or the talent is there. What do you all exactly mean in regards to talent? There is a big difference in having talent, and having elite talent. Are you all saying the elite talent has been and still is there? Which like it or not Highlands when they were dominated, especially dominated over NKY teams. The majority of the time they had elite talent compared to other teams in NKY. Much like how before this season Covcath had elite talent compared to other NKY teams for a three to four year stretch there. Now Covcath still had a lot of talent this year, but it is not quite elite anymore and why this year NKY teams were competing with them much better.
I do believe Highlands has talent just not elite talent anymore, that is why when they have lost it is not like they have lost to bad teams really through the years. They simply have lost to other teams with similar talent and good coaching too.
I know Highlands fans always get defensive when people say they don’t have the same talent anymore. However, I believe people when they say Highlands doesn’t have the talent anymore, they are more talking about not having elite anymore, which is a big difference than just having talent. So when you are all saying the dudes and talent is there. Are you all saying the elite talent has been there and still is there?
When Highlands was dominating they had elite athletes and small but quick O and D lines.

I'm not sure there's a better pair of linebackers in the state than Ryle's Savage (134 tackles) and Belk (123 tackles). Considering their competition I would match that pair up against anyone in the state. Individually there may be better linebackers in the state but this duo has been dominating.

Always tough to beat a good team 2 times in the same year. This game will come down to whether Ryle can contain Landers and not give up the big play. They were successful in doing that the last game. Ryle was able to run the ball consistently in the 2nd half of the game. Both teams have very strong senior leadership but I think Ryle wins another close one.

We''ll see after DC goes up to Louisville beats St.X and then potentially hosts a 4th round playoff game with the 4th best RPI in 6A.
That's a bold prediction and would be a major upset. What kind of defense does DC have?
-
It's not often you see 2 teams held under 200 total offensive yards.
Per KHSAA website:
Cov Cath 174 total yards (41 passing, 132 rushing)
Ryle 191 total yards (143 passing, 48 rushing)

Kudos to Cov Cath.....Both defense's were impressive but Cov Cath controlled the time of possession and made some big 3rd down conversions. Ryle really missed not having Yowan and Colemire on offense due to injuries. Hopefully both will be healthy for the playoffs. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

Ryle may have the best overall athlete in NKY in Kaden Gardner. Awesome on both sides of the ball.
I agree, he is very dynamic. He's a game changer and has been fun to watch over the last few years. They moved him to free safety this year and along with Yowan, Colemire, Cusack, Savage and Belk they have playmakers all over their defense.

Looks like weather is going to be a factor, I don't see Cov Cath running the ball consistently on Ryle.
-
Ryle's speed on defense will be the difference, its difficult to generate sustained drives against them and they just don't give up the big play. Ryle has a lot of back end speed on D and their 2 stud linebackers are all over their field. I'm looking forward to seeing Cov Cath's O against Ryle's D. Verax has seemed to turn the corner over the last few weeks and is seeing the field better. I know Ryle will want this game after Cov Cath thumping them the last 3 years. It's always a great atmosphere at Cov Cath on Friday nights.

I think HHS will struggle to move the ball on the ground against Cooper. I see Cooper winning 21-7.
