I’m not trying to speculate because I don’t know the answers. Just playing devils advocate.
I would argue they have played much better this season. Lost 6 of their last 7 last season. Much tougher schedule this year.
I’m not in the locker room or at practice.

Not close enough to know but wonder if there is any issue with the coach and teaching lessons.
Cody was kicked off at Dixie so him and Szabo went to Lloyd. Did the issues at Dixie follow them there if they didn’t learn any lessons?
Good call. I’m aware of some potential dad issues while at Dixie. New coach may not be hip to that?
-
Where's the Szabo kid for Juggs?
I was thinking the same thing. He was their “shooter” last year. His 3pt% is surprisingly low.
-
Cody was only out 1 game. He will be back.
Good. He’s a difference maker.

Holy Cross was #8 last week and moved up to #7 when Lloyd lost to Ryle. The Indians did not move from 6 to 7.
Is Cody done? With Cody, Lloyd beats Ryle by 15+.

Hi, Dogg2525!
Hey, I'm sorry if my comments in any way seemed to diminish KN. He did, in fact, have an awesome game. When I penned my post from 9:55 this morning, I was just checking the bulletin board before church. I know I have a "reputation" for typing out long entries on the bulletin board, but I simply didn't have time for that this morning. I was just kicking my "2 cents" worth about the two things that really stood out to me more than anything else in the game for the two teams.
For SK, it was the way KN moved and played the game. 39 points is an insane total, but that really wasn't the news. When KN is 100%, 30+ points is definitely always within his reach. I last saw KN on January 4th, against Fern Creek; 7 games ago. At that time, he was playing well, but obviously still lacked the confidence in his knee based on the way he moved. The difference, in my opinion, was dramatic in this game, and signified to me that he's back close to 100%, which is encouraging news for SK.
Likewise, I singled out McKnight for Collins because I thought this was the best game I've seen him play in the last couple of weeks. His aggressiveness on defense was particularly impressive - even thought that probably cost him in the form of a couple of extra fouls.
Bottom-line, my morning post wasn't intended to be a complete "report card" on KN; merely a statement of what stood out to me more than anything else in the contest.
While I really don't understand how my post would have done so, I do apologize if somehow that post was deemed offensive to anyone.

You’re posts rock. You don’t need to apologize for anything.

I'm hearing it is the other around.
Cody is flexing on the coach?
-
No. Lloyd is a totally different ballclub without him. Makes you appreciate everything Cody does, one of the more under rated players in the region.
Why isn’t he playing?

Simon travels to Grant Co. #1 seed for the 32nd District to be decided tonight.
Who do you have??
Is Grant healthy? Vickers?

Dr Phil says the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Last year, Dixie only beat Villa and Ludlow and those victories gave them the #3 seed instead of the #4. Villa and Ludlow were the numbers 4 and 5. Villa beat Ludlow To play st Henry while Dixie played Lloyd in the 2/3 game. Dixie beat Lloyd To guarantee a region birth.
This year I think that the seeding will be exactly the same, with Lloyd winning in the regular season against Dixie but losing to St Henry. I think that Dixie will beat Villa again to be the #3 seed. I do not see Villa beating Ludlow in the 4/5 game again, so Ludlow will play #1 St Henry and Dixie will play #2 Lloyd as the #3 seed. I think that Dixie will win this game, thus guaranteeing a regional birth.
Nobody can ever say you don’t think things through. I a’int arguing with ya.

My question is where will the Meyer kid be next year. He’s been in 4 different schools if you go back to Elementary days. I can see prep school also in near future.
If he doesn’t change his body language (which will probably happen naturally as he matures) after mistakes, he’s going to end up next to Grammer on the bench. Forget prep school.
-
You are also are Cov Cath fan... Maybe him hitting the game-winner on you is the reason you say this?
Not at all. I’m far more concerned with Highlands than Beechwood. Just stating a fact. I’m certainly not a Highlands fan, but no denying their ability to score the basketball efficiently. Gotta love turning a compliment to Highlands and a Highlands player against a CCH guy.
-
Story of the game? A lot closer than most would have expected. How did this one play out?
Sounds like a trap game. Big win over AC, looking ahead to Somerset?
-
Highlands is better than Beechwood. Vinson>Draud. Not even open for discussion.

It was the only game I have seen Ryle play as well. Ryle wasnt extremely skilled but played WAYYY harder than Bracken County. Which to me is a sign of better coaching. So I would have a hard time believing that Adam Reed and his 5-13 Polar Bears are the midseason team of the year in the 10th Region. The teams they have beaten have a combined record of 23-45 and have yet to beat a team with a winning record.
It’s satire or sarcasm, but a great way for you to plug a Ryle team with exactly 2 more wins than Bracken. smh.
-
But, you are impressed with Ryle? Lol

To set off this anti-Draud debate, you must have been in a different gym than I was, or just Draud haters. Draud scored going to the rim mostly In this one. Used his height and drove to basket. What I saw as the problem was besides Rylee, the others just standing on the 3 pt line not moving without the ball.
I grew in in a different era I guess. You always get the ball to your best player, let them create. What I saw Was a lot of standing around. Don’t know if there is an internal dysfunction (pouting) going on or not, but as a coach once told me when pouting About not getting the ball, get your butt in there and rebound because even the best shooters miss half their shots. Also IMO, you got some talent on thIs team, but outside Draud, no one can create when defensive pressure is on. I was also at SK game by chance, and SK pressured and the rest of team crumbed there too. Point? Draud wants the ball. Others don’t appear too when pressure hits. Not hating, just pointing out observations from my 2 games.
If I’m Goetz, I do same thing. Scotty, go. But I Also personally start rotating guys in until I find five That will go with him. A lot of people on this thread are giving Beechwood far too much credit for being deep and talented. Just not so from what I’ve seen. Nice team, but no way I take ball out of his hands by telling him intentionally until others start moving without the ball. Heck, FT aside, BW coulda one this game on backdoor cuts if they did a couple here and there. Bottom line, Draud is not the problem.
I’ve seen Beechwood three times this year. Depth is not a strength. 2 best wins this year are NCC and Grant, both of which were missing starters. Beechwood is beating who they should and getting drilled by good teams, Lex Cath, Collins, Oldham. There can only be 20 in the top 20 in the state, Beechwood just isn’t and you cannot say they would be better if Draud didn’t shoot as much. Great point that he wants the ball when others do not. He is playing harder and more physical than ever, it just may be that he has peaked and this is as good as it gets and that’s OK. He’s a stud High a School player, enjoy the ride.
-
Keep ballin Mr. Vinson! These old ladies seem to live in a negativity bubble. I’m not a Highlands guy, but the kid can play. Best Junior in the region and arguably the best player.
-
Never in doubt.
-
I'll go with an upset in game #1, NCC 56, St. Henry 54.
In game #2, I'll take Beechwood 77, Lloyd 62.
You called a close game. Dang near exact.
-
I have a feeling the North Oldham fans would tell you Justin Powell is the most indispensable player in the region based on their record without him.
Was just thinking the same thing.
-
Again... creditable sources nothing to argue about.
It’s credible, not creditable. Your sources might want get out more and see:
Justin Powell
Sam Vinson
Wyatt Veith
Grant Disken
Dayveion McKnight
M. Vail
Luke Morrison
Wait, I didn’t even make it to the 10th region, or all the way through the 9th that are debatable. Since were repeating ourselves, like I said he might not even be top 10 in the 8th, 9th and 10th. Great player, top 5? Maybe next year.
-
You folks have to be joking right? You won by 37 and put up 90 in 32 minutes!!! Wow. What are you worried about? It's January 15!! No one in the Ninth can match your talent level and very few in KY can either. Get a grip!!
AMEN!
-
Draud is ranked top 5 in the state on all creditable sources...
I’d take Draud on my team any day, but I am a realist about his ability to play at the next level. He’s seems to have regressed a little. He’s obviously not a point guard in college. I’m not convinced that he has the range or release to play the 2. He is much more physical this year, but let’s not forget that he could be a senior so he could be what he is physically with not much more growth. Great high school player. IMO he may not be a top ten player in only the 8th, 9th and 10th regions, forget about the state.

Huh? Didn’t say anything about kids. Sounds like you’re defending dad. Thanks for the advice. Lol
