Took Warren Central a majority of the year to get their 7 transfers on the same page, but they got it done when they needed too most. Look for them to add a few more pieces this offseason again to make another run.
-
Final from WCHS.
-
Great run for the dragons representing the 4th well. I think everybody knew there were 4 really great teams in this tournament and a rather large gap after that. Central had about as ideal of a tournament draw as you can get, but Scott County is operating at a different gear right now.
-
Final. Purples paced by 4 in double figures led by Key with 21, Mason with 18, Dice with 11, and Dennis with 10. BG will play Todd County Central in the semi-finals on Monday at 6:00 p.m.
-
Purples overcome two separate 14 point deficits and a Warren Central school scoring record 48 points from Jordan Cousin to with the 14th district championship. Bowling Green gets their 2nd straight win over the dragons and their 5th straight 14th district title.
-
Final from Marshall County:
BG 72
Hoptown 55
Tigers never lead once in the game. Purples still didn't play their best by any measure.

OMG she cussed in front of a kid or cussed at one like maybe saying get your blankety back on defense or even better she was probably joking with a girl about acting like an idiot and ask if she took her meds.
Yes they are very much reaching as I said, it's probably a bunch of sissy parents.
So making fun of/scrutinizing kids who take prescription medication for things they can't control is ok now? You need help. Winning a bunch of games doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want too, and coach J has learned that lesson that hard way.
-
I'm guessing that means she was hard core old school coach that don't suck up to sissy parents who think little Susie has to eat caviar and said please too.
I don't doubt a bunch of parents got her fired for being a tough coach because the parents these days aren't from a generation of discipline and hard work.
Or not.

You have to still yet to answer your first previous quote to several people in this thread. For the people unfamiliar with region/area, please explain and expound upon your original statement.
-
Tomorrow's BG daily news ought to be fun.
-
If the next hire is who I have heard this doesn't help what coach Johnson said.
Yep. He just accepted a teaching position at the high school a few weeks back. Kinda pokes a hole in her entire argument.
-
She probably won't have to coach anymore unless she just wants to.
If all of the information comes out, I would say not many will be interested in taking on that baggage. The principal has come out and called her a "bold-face liar". So, this should play out well in the courts.
-
Long time coming for LJ. Laundry list of complaints and violations for years. BG will be just fine. To take her statement as proven fact without response from the city is ignorance at its finest. If you want to know the character of LJ, just ask any coach in the 4th region. Seriously, any of them.
-
Big if true. That's two transfers at two different schools from his own aau program from breeze. Gotta think this situation will be very carefully watched if true.
-
Harmon will either be at BG next year or another school out of state. Period. Laughable to suggest he would leave a program of Bowling Green's caliber for Adair County or beeeze for that matter.
-
Didn't apply for it. I already told you that they could not have matched the compensation package.
We've each said our peace before, let's leave it where it was. There is no need for this to continue into yet another thread.
I'm good with that. But my info has told me that he inquired about it and they told him no chance. They had no problem doing a similar deal for Kevin Wallace. You're right, let's let it be.
-
Wait, Tim Riley didn't get it???
-
I will repeat - if he wants it, he'll get it. I don't know that he wants it. You are incredibly mistaken if you believe Bowling Green would not pursue him out of some perceived slight. His best friend is the most powerful athletic presence at the school. They have pursued him before, there's absolutely nothing to indicate they would not pursue him now. You are welcome to your opinion - you'll find it is the opinion of most that you are incorrect.
That said, I'd be thrilled if Bowling Green people feel the way you do. I will fully admit I in no way would ever want to see Riley in Purple. It makes it easier knowing that I don't even have to compromise those feelings with a feeling that it would be impeding him. He has a great deal going at Owensboro Catholic and unless Bowling Green throws money at him, a chance to win another state title is probably only driving force that would lead him to Bowling Green.
BG pursued him almost 8 years ago. Unless you have been living under a rock, almost the entire city school central office has changed in that time frame. Superintendent, Principal, AD, Assistant Principals, DPP, you name it. Riley is a great coach and he has a great gig right now in Owensboro. I know you think that Tim hung the moon, but believe it or not there are several schools in this state who wouldn't even give him an interview. To each his own. He should do well with Catholic next year.
-
Like I said, Riley can want that job all he wants. He has a less than zero shot to get it, and rightfully so.
-
Tim Riley stole BG kids for a literal decade and decimated the program. Also has a court named after him in warren county. Has about as good a shot at getting that job as anyone on this board does.
-
You REALLY want to go there?
Well, he has 6 region titles and 3 final fours. Same number of state titles and similar dominance. BG has currently won close to 50 straight 4th region games. They've only lost 3 games in January, February, and March in the last 3 years - all to the state champion in the state tournament. Have a record of 127-18 over the last 4 years. Let's not act like it's not a discussion.
-
Harmon turned 14 last week, not 15. How about DG Sherrill? 6 region titles, a 4 peat, 3 final fours and now a state championship. Tim Riley who???
-
Terry Taylor with 2 points and they are up 9.
-
Dragon you may know this, when Riley won those 6 regions in a row, how many years was he coach of the year?
Warren Central 56 Bowling Green 52 (4th Region Finals)

I don’t have a twitter account so that isn’t me. Wasn’t taking anything away from WC because they played a great game. There’s even an article in the paper today talking about how it took them a while to get the 7 transfers to gel. Not sure how you can confuse “narrative” with a factual statement.
