I like when mediocre Team A says, "We need a week 4 game for 2019. Can be home or away." Then powerhouse Team B replies, "We need a week 4 game for 2019." It's obvious they are replying to Team A, but they're throwing it out there like they're not.

I was able to catch some of the game. Dunbar may be worse than they were last season. Tates Creek is not very good IMO and it was no contest.

Lafayette was up 28-27 in the 3rd Qtr. Those numbers are what counts. Scott struggled to put Lafayette away but the point is they did put them away and that is what counts.

WJ has brought on a couple of new coaches who will help them a lot.

The Lakers have gone back to their signature Wing T offense. It is who they are and fits their kids. I expect them to have solid year.

I remember when Breathitt used to be a dominate team offensively and defensively. Is there any program that was state championship caliber like the Bobcats fall off so far and unraveled as quickly as Breathitt in recent memory?

I was hoping Lloyd would compete against Beechwood. This Lloyd team needs to find it's identity quickly or it won't be the season they hoped for.
-
Coach Smith has to disappointed with the way his squad has lost their first two games. I expect them to rebound. Douglass is loaded and if they stay injury free should be able to make a run at Scott County.

Somerset looks very good. I'll take the Jumpers 20-18.

Yes, Lafayette led 28-27 briefly in the 3rd.
-
This was a good game for almost 3 quarters. Lafayette led Scott Co 28-27 in the 3rd quarter and then costly turnovers snow balled on the Generals. Quite frankly, I think it surprised some people Lafayette played with Scott County that long. Scott County is a good team and if Lafayette can grow up fast they may make some noise.

Nice bounce back game for Lincoln.
-
Does this say more about Lafayette or more about Scott Co? Lafayette may be able to win that district again. Scott County may be in trouble when they face Frederick Douglass.
-
Mike Sizemore has done a good job at Clay County and deserves a lot of credit. John Gilliam has done a great job at West Jessamine, too. Both of these programs have improved. I think the Tigers has a chance at making the playoffs, with possible wins against Rockcastle and Russell County.
-
Tates Creek looks like they're going to struggle this year. I know they've played two strong teams, but they have a talented roster. New coach can't be happy with his first two games.
-
Anderson knocked off a 6A team in week one, and I think they'll do it again in week 2.

This will be one of the better games of the week. I'm taking Wayne County, but could see it going either way.
-
I think Montgomery County wins this one by 2-3 TD's. Their offense is tough to deal with and East Jessamine lost a lot of talent from last season. I think both of these teams will be hard to handle come November.
-
So a team that went 3-8 last season lost to one of the best teams in 2A in their opener and already the coaching hire was bad? Come on, now. This sounds more like sour grapes from some folks who preferred one hire and got another.
You may be right.

Still the king, that is laughable. They lost to two Lexington schools this year, and in 2015 and 16 lost to Lafayette in the playoffs. So they are not kings, they just happen to get past Lexington in the playoffs the last two years.
