  1. Unless South Oldham makes at least 15 three-pointers, I believe Owen County wins it, 71-63. I think South Oldham will defend Carson Williams differently in this one, possibly denying the entry passes by fronting him and daring Owen County to lob underneath. But Owen County has too many weapons, and South Oldham will need an exceptional shooting performance to win this one at Henry County.

Now I will admit that South Oldham is one of the few teams in the state that has enough shooters to possibly knock down 15 three-pointers against a team as good as Owen County. But Oldham County defended the Dragons on the perimeter to perfection in the 29th District championship last week, and I am afraid it might have left a blueprint for others to see with their switching off screens and pressuring the shooters.

I'll take Owen in a close game. But you have to think, Oldhams defense is probably the best in the region.
  2. Yes, he will play pro basketball one day. Whether in the NBA or overseas, you can count on it. I notice every one of your posts is negative about Carson. An axe to grind?
I have nothing against him. He's really a joy to watch. I think he deserves Mr. Basketball. But there's too many people on here talking him up to be something that he's not. Yes he's a great HS basketball player. IMO he will be a great fit at NKU. Will he dominate in college? No. Do I think that he will play professional basketball? No. That's just my opinion. But like I said before, he's one of the most entertaining HS players in the state, if not the most entertaining. He's for sure top 3 in the state. But you guys are really blowing him out of proportion.
  3. And who would you say is? I have seen several of the young men mentioned in this thread play this year...not all of them but some of them. And of the ones I have seen, it's not close...Williams is the best high school player of the bunch. If he doesn't win it I will just have to shrug my shoulders and wonder what were the voters thinking.

That's not to say that the other kids aren't fine players, cause they are, but CW is a cut above.

IMO Goodin. Faulkner is the best scorer out of the bunch.
  4. Agree with all you said. The press in Louisville and Lexington have virtually ignored this young man, but he is a great player. I also like Faulkner and Goodin, but I believe Williams has earned it. As a supporter of the three Oldham County schools, I have seen enough to know he is the best in Kentucky this year.
I think that he deserves Mr. Basketnall, however he is not the best player in the sate.
  5. I would put Williams against any of those players mentioned as well. I agree with you totally. These recruiting "experts" are the same people who told us the Harrison twins were great players! HAHA

The Harrison twins are also in the league making more money than any of us will ever make. If you would take Williams over any of Kentuckys recruits, than why isn't Cal recruiting him? Don't get me wrong Williams is a nice player. But he does not have the talent to play at a high d1 basketball school..
