  1. Well, the way I see it, is the Harmons think they ought to receive special treatment. He has transferred EACH of the last 4 years. And been blatant about it, or at least his father has.

Yes, he is a very good player, but he should have to obey the rules, somewhat, at least as much as everyone else. Coming out and announcing that he's taking his talent to here or there??! Saying here's a list of schools that he's considering?? Just way too much...

  2. Saw this kid play a handful of times this past year. My conclusion: he's not worth the time or baggage (3 schools in 3 years). He's not getting any bigger, he's old for his grade level and honestly probably wouldn't be getting the pub he's getting if he was on the correct grade level. From the games I saw, again small sample size but...he's AWFUL on defense, doesn't even try actually. And he didn't look coachable at all.

He will NOT finish at Adair, and will follow in the footsteps of Sloan, Cooper, and Young among others...meaning he'll keep moving schools so that an adult can try to benefit from him and colleges will stay away from him. Just my opinion. If I was coaching, I wouldn't want him at all.

I disagree, a lot. The age is not an issue, he made the US team as the youngest player, all region, all state tourney team, and playing 17u EYBL. Do you know how good you have to be to do that?? I seen him play 5 or 6 times last year, and I can see where you get your impression... he doesnt force anything. But at the end of the game he will have 16-18 points, 6 or 7 assists, and 2 or 3 steals. And that was on a very talented team!

I don't think he's KY/Duke good, but who knows what will happen the next 4 years...

  3. Yes, I agree he is a very good coach. But look at the talent level that he has had. A lot of coaches in the state, (probably 10 or 15) if they were to have the talent that he had probably would have won state title more than once. Terry Taylor, Kyran Jones, DeAngelo Wilson, Zion Harmon, even Trey Jones would have been super stars on other teams, possibly region player of the year if in another region.

DG was very good at managing all the egos and a good coach. But for me, he was 3rd best in the region.... just my opinion. A great high school coach takes 1 or 2 ball players, and then a handful of average athletes and wins with them. Not a college roster and wins...

  4. Coleman is good. But her team is not...and she didn't play against the best...either in high school or the summer. Going to be hard to get votes from outside her regional area.

    Metcalfe is where she plays.

I understand the argument of she doesn't play against the best, but you can't really hold that against her. The numbers she puts up are'nt from 30 shots a game, Matter of fact, she's been in the top 20 in FG&FT% nearly all the year. She is the best girls player that I've seen this year. Shouldn't be penalized for going to a small school.

And yes it will be hard for her to get votes out of the region.

  5. No team in the region besides Central has come within single digits of a healthy BG team.

Central has to get through two of the top three teams in the region just to get another shot at BG.

BG got a cake walk of a draw. Their starters will be WELL rested come finals.

BG is the favorite, and have the talent and depth to win it all at the state level. But, its a one game season from here on out, anything can happen at tourney time. There are 4 or 5 teams capable of playing with the purples on one given night. If it was a best of 3 even, then book the rooms. Too many good players to rule everyone else out.

  6. Just because you have the freedom to say what you want doesn't mean you are free from the consequences of speaking.

    AGREED!!

So, are lifeguards taking away your rights when they tell you not to go in the ocean because it's unsafe? No, they are trying to protect you from dangers that you don't know about.

I think that what good coaches do, try to protect players from the dangers of social media. We've all seen people make huge mistakes on social media, some so big it has changed the course of their lives. Teenagers for sure don't have a clue about dangers that adults face every day with their decisions.

If you had a small child, would you let him touch a hot stove, or make a rule that they don't need to be around it?
