Mason is playing very well right now with some nice wins, same can be said for Augusta, I think Paris has the most athleticism. Campbell has the best big man, that counts for a lot. This region is wide open for the taking. I can see any of the top five winning. Should be a very competitive tournament this year with so many of these teams peeking at the right time.

Another well played game from augusta, total team effort if they continue to play this style ball and keep brings the effort I look for them to hang yet another banner and Give some teams in the region fits, congratulations Panthers..
-
Augusta comes into this one with a full head of steam, senior leadership and playing some tremendous defense. I'll take them in this battle.
-
Sounds like Augusta is really setting down and playing defense, and playing some good ball at the right time of year!
-
I'll take the panthers by 10.
Kirk and his team seem to be playing some awfully good ball right now.
-
Sumo is spot on, Walker can flat shoot the ball, and I was very impressed with pig to night, would love to start seeing more folks showing up to support the home team.
-
Coaches vote I believe..... No real criteria I'm aware of
Do we have a clear answer on is this a senior only award ? Has there ever been a Junior that's ever won this award?? Is its senior only, is think Wilson or pig, but if this award is open to any age, grade etc. I'll agree with it being much as the District and regional tournament "wide open"

Voted on by the schools. Bracken gym holds 2000 per Khsaa website. I believe the last time it was held there the Championship game Mason/Augusta 2014 the paid attendance was around 1650. and the average was around 1500 for the entire tournament. Parking can be an issue but actual seating is not.
Hope that gives ya the answer you was in search of :thumb:
Seating wise is great, I like a packed house, as im sure most of the players do as well, parking just seems to be a problem, I didnt realize the attendance of that championship game was only 1650, felt like 10,000 where there that night, thanks for the info.

I would say yes the shuttle service will be in place there is decent parking at the high school but it fills up quick during the district tournament.
BC has a nice new gym, and I mean no disrespect in anyway to there new gym, it just doesn't seem big enough to accommodate the crowd for district tournament, they did and do a awesome job for the class A. I just think Mason is set up to hold the crowd and parking situation. Why do they not host it every year?

27.8 PPG on 53.5% FG is unstoppable at this level. I have yet watched anyone lock down Crawford. Pig didn't , Ohmer didn't, nobody. As for "taking over" I guess you missed the PC game when he brought them back and scored the go ahead shot while BC was down their 2nd leading scorer.
You guys are so right, he's unstoppable a phenom to the 10th, maybe the state for that matter!!! Maybe they'll put a bronze statue of him out in front of your new justice center,, or maybe he can skip his senior year and head straight for the league!!!! Then again maybe you guys will set your kool-aid cup down and focus on trying to win a district title first, then tell me he takes games over and us unstoppable... His numbers look great and he is a tremendous player!!! But he has to prove the unstoppable part to the rest of us non- Kool-Aid drinkers!
-
Very well written andonedad, the folks in Augusta have a lot to be proud of down there, wonderful ball club and community, class acts as alway.
-
Austin was in 7th, 8th, Freshman..... And once again. They did not have a coach!!
Seems Hinson is BC miracle drug, And maybe the manufacture of that Kool-Aid they been drinking lol. time will tell, they have there "unstoppable player" and "magical coach" so there should be no excuses for them after this district tournament, banners should be hinging soon for them!!!
-
Do you mean true juniors by grade or true juniors by age? This comment isn't real clear? Williams is a good player and I think he is a senior.
Yes age, sorry I was unclear about that im not really familiar with he kids from BC team, was told Crawford was older ? Just didn't know if there was any truth to what I was told.
-
Because Bach had the coach!!!
Well mr. Crawford has that coach now, so should Mason expect the same type of unforgettable game as bach put on and took over ?? I highly doubt it!!! But I've been wrong before!!
-
Guess you did not listen to bear tracks this week? If you did you would have heard him talk about his teammates. I feel like that comes with age and a good coach. In the past Bracken program did not have the leadership to teach the boys about teamwork but now it is first!
The "Bach kid " and "Crawford kid" ?? Im still not sure of that comparison two totally different players. One has been there done that and has the shirts to prove it, the other is trying to make his way into that same category but to me it's unfair to compare those two players, but that's just my opinion
-
I have seen the whole Bracken team improved. Austin has matured as a player this year and for the first time I see leadership. Most of the Bracken team is juniors. You have to give Austin some Credit. He can play ball. Most players have off nights. Hello it is high school ball not the pros!!!!
Slap happy, I agree this is high school and they have off nights. Im not saying he is not a player. He one of the best the 10th has to offer. I was just saying unstoppable I don't see that the way "all blue" stated in a earlier comment, is bracken all juniors ?? True juniors ? yes argue they have grown as all teams in the 39th have, Augusta just had 3 big wins this week and is playing the best ball I've seen them play as of yet this year, and the same can be said about St. pat Mason and bracken, I mean in no way to take anything away from mr. Crawford wonderful fun player to watch just simply saying I do not see unstoppable!
-
Replying to the remark a Bracken Co. Kool- aid drinker made about being Impossible to shut Crawford down. How many games has Bracken lost so far this season? I maybe wrong but isn't it about 11 games? So someone shut him down. Be realistic!!!
I totally agre basketball joe. He's a nice player but unstoppable?? Im not so sure about that..the kool-aid out that way in brooksville area must be strong stuff. I've yet to see him take over and win a big game when it matters yet.
Maybe this year is his year. Im just not sold on him as unstoppable

Na I'm good. I'm just tired of hearing about that little puny gym like it's such an amazing place to watch high school games.
Been there several times for a wide array of events and it's just not all that like some on here portray it to be. Needs major upgrades to catch up with society. It's almost 100 yrs old for god sakes.
I'm just greatful for technology these days and radio broadcasters popping up all over the region so I don't have to go watch another game down there. The nightmare of parking and seating is over. All I have to do is click a link and listen.
Wow, poor rick with all that negativity towards a Augusta. I for one love that gym. It's a true peace of basketball history, with all the modernization of new gymnasiums I for one think the true Spirit of basketball has been lost, it's a unique place to play and one of the best shooting places I've ever played at, although when I played there years and years ago there was no air-conditioning man that place would get hot, was always great atmosphere. Some of my most memorable games where played in that (little low-tech gymnasium)

B-ville?
Just assumed you where a BC fan. Maybe im wrong, if the championship game is on Tuesday night maybe you need to wake up, this is anybody's tournament.
-
I guess it depends on who's dream it is. And if your on the orange and black juice stay asleep and keep on dreaming. A team in blue will win the 39th. The games on Tuesday night of the district will be the championship games because whom ever comes out of Tuesday night will win Thursday night
Come on Rick. Wake up hoss, lol this truly is a dream for you folks in the big B-ville isn't it ?? Poor things,, God love your hearts
-
That's the Hinson effect. He makes his players believe they can win against any team they play. Hinson gave them heart and determination, and it hasn't left those kids
We will just have to agree to disagree on that one!!
-
Hinson is a good coach!! Im never going to dispute that fact. But u can't coach heart, the kids from Augusta those 2 years refused to lose, and Believe in each other, im in NO way comparing Bach and Crawford in anyway shape or form! Both amazing players and Hinson is a lucky man to coach them both.
-
Im not sure I would say "better role players" at all, and to me one earns the title of "superstar" its not just a right because one shoots the most shots or scores the most points, once you've won a District title and won the big games then you deserve that title. But that's just the way I see it,
-
So that hinson factor should carry over with the polar bears as well correct ??

Geeezzzz this thread is about a game, a game of two TEAMS, not Hinson vs Kirk, not Crawford vs moddox, and Kelsch well I'm not sure how or way he is even coming up in this conversation.
