That's was at the other end of the field from me and I honestly didn't get a good view of the hit or alleged celebration. For me I thought it was a hard fought hard hitting game, I've witnessed far worse dirty play, if indeed there was any.

I said 'wouldn't it be great' as a tongue-in-cheek aside to the rumors of Hatchell's return that always seem to be circulating. Let's be clear, there is no bigger fan of the MF coaching staff than me. I have said on these very forums that I believe we have the best coaching staff in the state and I wouldn't want my children playing anywhere else or for anyone else (you can find my comments in the MF vs Desales game thread). Morris, Dew, Champion, Ferris and the gang are as good as it gets at what they do. I would never attempt to discredit them and it distresses me that it may have been taken that way. Joe has indicated himself that there will always be a spot open for Hatchell on his staff. Were that to happen, he would just be icing on what is already the best baked cake in the state.

Guess I watched a different game, I didn't witness that.

The only late hit I seen was called... That was kind of the second cheap shot at kennemore... I was really upset when I seen the celebration after he was clipped on the punt return... Idk must be just me but it was like they wanted to do whatever it took to take him out of the game... That is just my opinion... But the ref blew that call too... That was a huge cheap shot that was not called but was celebrated very well... I didn't see the team was scoled for it either... Could of really hurt Kennemore, so when that happens, you make it personal...

I seen the comment about I wish Steven Hatchell was here to sort it all out... Lets keep in mind Joe Morris rebuilt the whole feeder program etc... He has been here last two years without Hatchell... Why would we discredit Joe Morris... Yes he did not do this alone... But I think we are headed into last year before he can retire... I hope to God that the man who gets the job after Joe Morris... Is the man that has helped us win these championships... That is Coach Dew... He knows how to get the job done. He knows how to bring the team chemistry together... If he does not get the job after Morris... There will allot of unhappy people in Mayfield because he will be rolling out to coach against us... Hatchell is a great offensive coordinator he did a great job at Murray State as QB. But coach Dew was Defensive team Captain as D1 school... A SEC D1 not school... I mean come on thats a no brainer... Yes Hatchell is huge help, but Coach Dew is the man behind Joe Morris and he will continue our winning tradition...

I loved it... Many said that since Mayfield moved up Beechwood would dominate 1a next 4 years... They did a hreat job just ran out of gas. CONGRATS TO BOTH TEAMS ON A TERRIFIC SEASON

A great run... 2 time defending state champions... Not many can say that at all.. I know Kincer... He really was not trying to belittle the players... He was sitting behind me during the game... Many of times he had a look on his face saying these guys are good...

Alrighty folks, here's my prediction..heading into the game Sunday I feel Mayfield is the better team..mayfield is battle tested throughout the regular season, while NCC really hasn't impressed me much..i feel NCC doesn't have the defense to stop mayfields offense and definitely mayfield has the best defense in 2a..so, my prediction is 45-14 Mayfield..

What was it? Because he has been playing in old timers games (full pads). Not buying a career ending injury!

He blew his back out they wouldnt let him finish... yeah ge can old timers games all he wants... but when u rupture disc got to have surgery at university of ky... back surgery... they say your done... not on our watch... big difference in allumni bowl and d1 football regulations.

Micah was a player, no doubt. I wish he would have stuck it out at UK. And I bet he does too.

I agree with all the explanations offered and will add that I really think the "working as one unit" is under-appreciated in a general sense from outsiders. The kids start learning the plays, and the technique in elementary school.

The result could been seen in last week's DeSales' game. Most people on both sides thought the game would be tight. But no one from DeSales thought our O-line would open holes they way they did. And if you looked at the kids standing on each side of the line, by all rights we should not have been able to run up the middle. But we did. And I attribute it the work ethic of the kids, and the culmination of years of teaching technique for how to block, and how to work together as a unit. I think we have won more than a few games from coaching, but not necessarily coaching in the week of the game, but coaching in the years before the game.

 

Edit: I don't mean to imply that we don't win with coaching in the week of the game and at halftime too. We got that as well.

Dkincer we did the best we could do and played hard, Don't belittle the kids and how hard they worked. I know it is easy to type up sarcastic comments, but like someone informed me, the kids read this stuff. I know I made the same mistake.
